I like that Marquet comes across as a goofy dad, when you picture submariners as hardened sailors 😂 His book is incredible by the way, learned a lot from it!
I really enjoyed your video. There were a lot of thought provoking myths and facts in there, enough for me to start changing some of my leadership behaviour. I especially enjoyed the toilet scene. That is engineering at it's finest.
34:00 - as hard as it is to make small decisions in times of crisis...that's your waiter too. Don't defer decision-making that much. What do you want to eat? You can handle saying ir.
Not everybody is a leader! They are not all leaders, that’s false encouragement because not everyone has the qualities to be a leader! Lots of things wrong with this conversation
There are no women or men on a submarine. There are only Sailors on USS Submarines. Hold them accountable and train them and empower them and watch them do amazing things for their country and for each other.
Why is there no place for women on a submarine? Also, consider this guy's bonafides. Now consider yours. Why do you think you know better than a nuclear submarine captain about what's great and what's not re: naval command? Seems to me your credibility was shot from the very moment your brain farted out its first thoughts here.
"Act my way to thinking (differently)" - I liked the idea of changing the environment to be more team-oriented without saying a lot of words.

From experience: Lots of goofy dads on my submarine. USS TUNNY SSN 682
This is one of, if not THE best videos on UA-cam
Marquet is truly amazing!

That was an awesome talk. Wish I'd been there...
Damn, that 45 minutes flew by fast!
Every other person wants to be a leader, wants to run a company. Only few will actually invest 45 minutes of their lives on videos like this.
Why would I listen to this bullshit for even five minutes? ;-)
No, not every person wants to be a leader or own a company.
@@sneakerbabeful I agree and stand corrected.

Congratulations 🎉 Google world 🌎 safety security good 👍 🎉🎉
37:20 how ironic.
15:38 a designated hype man...it's not a bad idea. Why do cheerleaders exist in the first place?
Not everybody is a leader! They are not all leaders, that’s false encouragement because not everyone has the qualities to be a leader! Lots of things wrong with this conversation
Not everyone is a born leader. Anyone can be coached and groomed to lead if the passion is there.
OK, if he ran his boat the way he talks, we are lucky that WW III didn't happen. ;-)
He lost credibility when he said women on submarines is great. No place for women on a submarine.
Actually *you* lost your "credibility". Ass.
