- Life's unpredictability throws challenges our way, but it's our response that defines us. Following my injury, I'm committed to becoming the best version of myself by prioritizing my recovery. Returning to rehab, I'm on the path to improvement. My little sister Serena's words, "I'm not allowed to quit," echo in my mind everyday! Here's to 2024-striving to return to the court and doing what I love most, playing tennis!

Take your time and do what you need to do. I became a forever fan in the Wimbledon 2005 final when the BBC was virtually preparing your concession speech at 4-5 down having lost the first set to the magnificent Lindsay Davenport. You were and are an inspiration.

@@quinjackson6616 I have loved Venus the moment I saw her at 14. And I mean really love her as if she were my own daughter. I mentioned that to her in one of her videos. For years I have watched her play with my heart literally beating and pounding at every point! Always wishing and hoping for her very best!! Now, I still wish and hope for her very best. But the very best as an athlete is most likely behind her at this time and age. I will be 62 in a few days….. and, I had to learn that time will always naturally win. It’s just a natural reality of life. Accepting that reality was not easy for me, still isn’t… but life moves on with or without you. I love this woman with all my heart and soul, and because of that love.. I will always want the best for her. You are forced to listen to your body even if your heart is not ready to hear it. Love always will prevail, but not the body. I Love you Venus Ebony STAR Williams! ❤️❤️❤️
Venus, listening to you talk about all of your injuries. Your body is trying to tell you something. You have to rest. I’m not saying give up, but maybe find a different way to train. You have to give your body time to heal itself and forgive yourself. We can wait to see you holding up that trophy again!

Testing the limits of body is great, but it's also exceptional to listen to your body. As a high calibre athlete in the upper echelons, it's about making certain adjustments, as time goes on.
I'm glad the LEGEND Venus finally heard the body, although took extreme injury to do so.
Got to love the champions mentality but HEALTH is wealth, even with a high threshold of testing resilience.
We don't want you hobbling around in the future, when living life post tennis, so still bring all that fierceness, fire, desire and mental strength, but also hear yourself when body screams.

Venus your overall health and healing completely is more important than playing a match. Though you are missed on court, we'd rather see you heal and win then see you in pain and struggling. Without your health you're at a disadvantage. Wishing you the best always

Visited Indian Wells for the 1st time last Spring and brought me to tears. On a move like yours I tore my left mcl which kept me out of the court for a while; now dealing with tennis elbow (R) for over a year. We deal with what is presented to us and have to keep moving forward. Thanks for being vulnerable,for sharing your experiences & knowledge. Wish you a safe & speedy recovery 🫶

You are a true inspiration. I play tennis too, we are the same age and my rotator cuff has been killing me for the past year. I did rehab with very little relief. I just started with sports massage, which is very painful. I even started playing left handed.😅 Tennis is a brutal sport. I started in 98, I love it, but father time is catching up. I'm praying for you. I can only imagine the suffering you have been through to fight for your dreams. You are a true champion. Thank you for being a shining light in my life both on and off the court. 👏🏿✊🏿🫶🏿🏆❤

HINT: I find that I must have this combo in my system to play well/not get injured: iron, tyrosine and collagen. very basic compared to what pro tour players use, but i find without this combo in my system, I play poorly/inconsistently. but with it in me, the other gals pay acute attention as to my flexibility and endurance. great stuff! I look forward to running the two teams and teaching the newbies this season coming as I did last year.

Nice update. I hear you about the knee, I injured mine playing a match and it was so and most painful when I was literally lying in bed doing nothing which was shocking to me. It’s hard and frustrating not to be doing proper leg days in gym a couple months later but I must listen to the body and not be stubborn.
Venus, thanks for the update. I tore my rotator cuff playing tennis in June 2023 and have been doing rehab off and on. Then I pulled a muscle in my back two weeks ago! I guess I won't be playing tennis again until at least April! Rehab is HARD!!!!

Same spirit right here (well, in my younger years), regarding denying pain which turned into something more serious; and keeping my word (even when I've needed to bow out).
I am in rehab everyday of the rest of my life. It is boring, BUT if I keep it up I will be capable in 20 yrs at 90+. As you say: Never back down, Never give up.

Venus I was so excited when I saw you playing Svitolina at Wimbledon. I could tell right away YOU WERE BACK! Your game looked clean and tight and you looked so confident. I knew that match was yours for the taking. Your opponent looked like she knew she was up against it. I could not believe it when you fell. I was so devastated and so hurt for you.
