    Great demo! The first two rides are the ones I liked the sound of the best. The Constantinople didn't do it for me. Thanks for sharing.

      Series. In fact, starting from the 8” splash to the 22” medium ride, I also have the Dark Energy series.
      Before you invest in the Masters, try a set of Dark Energy. I find them so much more musical and easy to blend with each other.

      @@HerbWarrenDrums I been checking out the dark energy rides ,they are something special.Might have to rethink this one.Could you demo the dark energy and master rides side by side? Thanks Herb.

    I have the K custom dark ride, 20 inch. I haven't found a situation to use it, sound wise, but was a great yard sale find.

      Hi Jeff, As you'd expect, I have the whole series. Combined, it's a great setup for a big band or for R&B, Soul or Rock. Standing alone, I love the 22" ride and the 18" crash. Finally, the 15" and 14" hats are really special. On occasion, I'll break precedent and use the K Custom Dark 15" with another Zildjian setup. Like all K Con but K Custom Dark hats.
      I wish I could get deals like you did. My guess is that the 20" ride is high and on the dry side with a bit of ring. If that's correct, try it with a trio or quartet. 20" Ride, 18" crash, 17" crash and 14" hats. That would be a great combination with that cymbal. Let me know....always feel free to PM to me.
      Stay safe, my friend.

    I like the K hybrid!!

      It’s a very good but overlooked cymbal. A lot of drummers use the hi hats but that’s it. I use the 17” and 18” hybrid crashes with a KCon 22” ride but I also use the hybrid ride in small group environments.
      You have good taste.

      LReyes0206 - The heavy ride has the true clean vintage sound. Listen to some Buddy tracks and that’s the sound of his ride.

    Personally the darker and drier the better with clear stick sound and a little bit of wash too much of it and its tricky to hear the definition.

      @HerbWarrenDrums  4 роки тому

      You’re correct. Still, it depends on the music you’re playing.
      For me, dry is a preference, however for hard rock and evening metal, you want to hear the tone of the cymbal. In that case, wash and sustain would be preferred.
      In the end, it’s a matter of personal preference and that of the people hiring you to play for them.
