Everything has already been written but it’s a variant of the immigrant song riff and then after garage inc covering it it’s lords of summer and the f sharp chord is used in manunkind, lords of summer and then murder one and then the latest chasing light, no hate but it’s interesting how it can be manifested into a new creation that can be enjoyed by many, music is awesome and much more in those who love metal
I was too! Great show. The tribute to Dime was really cool. When Lars said they had a friend that lived in Dallas, I thought Vinnie Paul was gonna join them. Was AWESOME to see it was King Diamond!!
King was just getting better from heart surgery here... That 2 packs a day caught up with him lol..And he still gets up there and fuckin rocks. Long live real metal
My older sister took me to this show when I was 18. I've been to a lot of different concerts and music festivals since then but this still stands as the most memorable and one of the best days of my life .
@@metaldownm whats more sad is not many fans know Diamond head. I think Diamond head is a big infleucne for metallica and the whole big 4, they all performed am i evil live together. I saw diamond head live and it was such a tiny venue, kinda like a small bar.
My first metallica show was this one! I was 15 years old , there by myself, sat up against the rails ALLLL DAYY in Houston heat with no food no water no Sunscreen in the Houston summer heat. Right after this song I felt like I was going to pass out so I had to jump the rails and watch the rest from a far
It has to be said that was a mighty powerful version of the Mercyful Fate medley. James' little remark at the start of "Don't fuck it up!" proved unnecessary, even if he was talking to himself (or maybe Lars?😁) Great to see King Billy in full operatic voice too. One of metal's great unheralded vocalists. \m/
the internet was different, metallica used to upload very low quality videos to youtube back then, like most of youtube did back then lol... it was that way until like 2013 when they started to take youtube uploads seriously
I was playing this about 3hrs ago, then this pops up! Haha. Its been one of my favorite pieces to play for the past 10 years. A real good warm up. I just don't like the lyrics. So I jam with the instrumental version instead tuned up to E standard.
Im confused here, Lars says their a gonna play a new song at 0:53, but then invites the legend King Diamond, were is the new song at or am i missing this ??
Don't you trust that. Watch his last concert, the dude sings like in his 20s, what a fucking legend. His high notes are untouchable, search "King Diamond live fillmore full"
I was there, like my 3rd time smoking weed 😂😂😂 the vendors didnt even id us for beer and i wasn 21 yet ,7 dust was amazing also. My first and only concert i ever went to and damnnnnn good show
I have been transported directly back to 1984
A corpse without soul was the heaviest piece. Love it!
The intro riff of Into The Coven is one of the most bad ass metal riffs ever
You are goddamn right!
@@fleshmagnet1236I second that
God damn the one from curse of the pharaohs they use for this thing though

I was there. It was my little brother's first concert. He was 17. I was 27. Ozzy was the loudest band I have ever heard. Still is.
I was too! Great show. The tribute to Dime was really cool. When Lars said they had a friend that lived in Dallas, I thought Vinnie Paul was gonna join them. Was AWESOME to see it was King Diamond!!
King impressive as always, I remember he was recovering from heart surgery at the time. Impressive, long live King Diamond.
Metallica covering Fate, impossible to be more metal.
Add King Diamond on vocals. That's how. Oh wait. Here it is.

El que se siente apagado es king diamond, estar compartiendo escenario con la banda mas grande de la historia del metal
King was just getting better from heart surgery here... That 2 packs a day caught up with him lol..And he still gets up there and fuckin rocks. Long live real metal
Cut the cigs and now listen to him
No He wasn't. This was a few years before his heart Op.

Yeah was rad show. Shadows fall, the storm both played flawless sets. Tribute to Dime🤘 was a great day in metal history
Metallica pays homage to their roots!!! Awesome!!
And it is sad that not many fans know about Mercyful Fate.

This is one of the greatest things ever!
I actually met him at the ticket window when I was picking up my tickets at this show, couldn't believe it was him, super nice dude.
This is my favorite concert seeing Ozzy and Metallica on the same show!
This needs to be played again, would sound incredible with how they are at the moment
After all these years of this gr8 voice he still has it the falsetto of god , that's something amazing i hope i can see him live someday soon
I was there in the pit. Second song they played was Ride the Lightning and I crowd surfed my way to the front during it. Best show I've ever been to
my first metallica concert, was a fuckin badass show.
Into the coven has always been my favorite👌🏼
Metallica Ft. King Diamond: Mercyful Fate (Live In Ozzfest - Dallas, TX. - August 09, 2008).
This song kicks so much ass.

I was there and it was awesome. I also got to meet King Diamond after the show too.

Whoelse went to this concert as theyre first concert at the only Ozzfest that year in Frisco,TX. This guy did 😂
Flawless performance, sounds exactly like Garage Inc
“Evil” being played with the strobes was so wicked!
Lars plays this song almost flawlessly.
Not bad considering someone else basicly wrote it for him...lol. longtime 'TallicA fan here..btw. 🧟♂️
Yes almost
He was awesome all night. Was first time I seen em with Rob they were all kicking ass all night in the Texas heat.

Metallica should have recorded a cover album with King Diamond this sounds really good

I love the medley so much but watching it live felt so long! lol
Love Metallica 🤘💓🤘
KING.
His voice has gone a bit off, but I still really like it
Not anymore it's back and stronger then ever🤘
Demanufacture pretty sure it had something to do with a heart surgery
Saw Mercyful Fate last year, King sounded amazing almost felt like I was in the 80s again
Great Concert !!
God Bless or Devil Bless!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!
They should redo this at the upcoming festival since they are both going to be there. He sounds way better now after quiting smoking and recovering.
metal gótico é mais que um sentimento
*My greetings to Metallica*
I wish I could "like" this post more than once
I was there. First time seeing Metallica.
Crazy how this was only 10 years ago but there are videos from the 80's with better quality. What the fuck happened Metallica?
no way you’re this ignorant lol
the internet was different, metallica used to upload very low quality videos to youtube back then, like most of youtube did back then lol... it was that way until like 2013 when they started to take youtube uploads seriously
It was compressed so it would go on their website in 2007, the original hq version is probably lost to time
They originally were on their own website with much lower bandwidth
J’adore
I was there....Aug 9, 2008
Yeah dude! Shadows fall was bitchin
I saw king last year in Detroit.. best show ever!!
I was at that show too and it was fuckin awesome

The King reminds me of this wrestler named Dan Haussen.
Yes so much yes
240p? =[ C'mon
What i would have given to be there
Great set. I would've liked to have seen them do Desecration of Souls. All that said, Kirk should say, "screw this, I'm getting back with Exodus." ✌
Went would Kirk ever even entertain the thought of going back to Exodus? 👎🏽
Dont you have a more quality footage and audio?
Why dont play it more????
solo
Im confused here, Lars says their a gonna play a new song at 0:53, but then invites the legend King Diamond, were is the new song at or am i missing this
??
He said they 'played a new song' - the live debut of "Cyanide" was earlier in the set.
King is missing his Bone Mic...
Like a dumbass I got too drunk and went back to my hotel before they played this. 😭
Sad seeing this show. My dad was going to take me and my bro but didn't cause said the money would be better used for school clothes 😒
