Hey Don, I’ve been practicing your advice and watching/reading your tips for a while now. I’ve been job hunting for 6 months, and after I found your channel, each interview taught me something I could improve on with your tips. I had my best interview yet recently, and I just received the call :) I got the job and owe a big thanks to your sound advice and wisdom.
    Thank you Don!

I do pretty decent at interviews but thank you for providing the golden fundamentals of a behavioral interview. Always good to come back and review. Universal stories that can fit many questions are key.

Thank you so much for explaining what's going on with the fragmented/scrambled long-term memory box! I'm preparing for a behavioral questions interview - and I was feeling anxious and thinking there was something wrong with me, given that I couldn't really remember specific examples off the top of my head - even though I know I've dealt with and achieved those things many times. I'm glad to know that this is just a part of our make up!
Moving forward in my work life, I will start keeping a log of certain achievements on the job so that I can have great examples for future interviews.

Don I LOVE your videos and it's obvious you care about your Subscribers' success in their Interviews so thank you for all the great advice and tips. I do want to add though, that this first STAR example was so unreasonable. Most of us are NOT in any capacity working in a position as high in status as a FINANCE MANAGER. We are lucky if we are an admin support or retail Sales Clerk so finding appropriate examples that transfer over is the issue, especially if you are trying to claw your way up the food chain and break into a totally different occupation. Eg, Admin to say, Team Lead with life or death decisions in a Call Centre. The few times I disagreed with a Supervisor (citing Policy), they rode right over me and said just ignore that and process it because if we give them any push back they will take it up to the Ministers' Office and scream discrimination and we'll end up having to write a major Briefing Note and write a News Release to take the heat off! Now THAT's a realistic example Nd there is no way in hell that an actual Executive Director is going to hear a lowly admin out and cave. So, please in future use more down to earth examples for the STAR responses because the majority of us are still little grunts and pee ons who can only dream of being a Finance Manager before we retire! Timesare NOT the way they used to be10 years ago. As well, that example was LONG WINDED OMG. Nothing brief or to the point succinctly with the example you cited. Ha ha

actually that behavioral question example was a true story from one of my clients -- that's where I get my inspiration for stories.

Hi, @3.38 would the interviewer get funny that you called out your old boss and be out off with hiring you if they think you might do the same thing to them?

The tough ones are the questions about situations you never been in. Based on your prior experience, let’s say an office manager you did not encounter the experience that they want you to explain How do you answer these kind of questions?

Hi Don, just wanted to say thanks. I had an interview on Thursday and was offered the job that same afternoon. This is the third interview I have had in 3 years and been successful in every one. I’m pretty sure your videos had something to do with that.
