VIDEO DESCRIPTION
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
In this video I'll cover 10 common situational interview questions and answers using the star method. I also answer the common question - What is the STAR method? The star interview method is a technique used by interviewers to ensure that while you are answering an interview question and you are describing a situation where you are addressing the situation task action result, and this gives them a rounded response to their question.
The star method is also a great tool for candidates to use when answering any situational interview question as its a foolproof way of ensuring your interview has covered every area of the interview question.
I explain the difference between behavioral interview question and a situational interview question.
I cover the top 10 tough interview questions and answers, including particularly tough questions such as Tell me about a time when you failed, and Tell me about a time when you made a mistake.
I also cover a critical point when getting through your interview - the prep! Interview prep is critical and non negotiable if you want to get an offer. I cover the steps you need to take in my interview prep checklist video below.
I address many other tough interview questions and answers (link below).

Thank you for giving real answers to the questions. My mind goes blank when answering these types of questions. Scenarios came back to me after looking over your example answers!
Struggling making clear sentences when I get nervous. I need notes because when I get nervous I'm not able to concentrate. Lately my interviews were online therefore I am able to read notes behind the camera!.. im a government worker
Great idea - knowing the notes are there can be a huge help for anyone experiencing interview nerves thank you for the tip, and best of luck with you're interviews! :)

This was a great video!! Thank you very much
Hi!! FINALLY an actual crystal clear video which excellently describes the line of thought and great examples which can be relevant for several different professions! Superstar, thank you so much!❤️🌟🍾
Thank you, I really appreciate that feedback!
I have some questions:
1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies
4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years*
*Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*.
This wasa great study guide and got my brain fired up and working on the right track. I like the break downs of answers and how they reflect competencies the the interviewers are looking for.
Very educational and informative. Thanks
During your interview you will be assessed against the following competencies:
Think It Through
Get the job done
Work together
Always learning
Need questions and answers related to these topics
Thank you, very helpful.

I am a long time 10 yr employee looking for a new carrier your information was very helpfull and really enjoyed your ideas with the star method which can apply to many of my situations i never really considered that important but need to be applied to interviews, thanks
You are concise, clear and give practical info on behavioral/situational interviews. appreciate the pleasantness of your voice and the intelligent real world approach of your answers
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words!
Really helpful
This was one of the best video I have watched. Most of the other creators videos are an advertisement of their course without even giving value to their viewers.
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback, and glad you found the videos helpful! :)
Morning Amri. Watched a few of these kind of videos now and I found yours to be the clearest so thank you. As my interview later today is for a technical post, I find the new style of interview using these types of questions very new and quite irrelevant to me. I’m used to being asked technical questions and how I would apply engineering a situation but this is no longer the case with large companies who now use this interviewing style. I’ve certainly gleaned some great tips using your video and feel pretty confident I can pass my interview today! 🤞
Thank you Fred, I do hope your interview went well!
Great interview tips, thank you
Your welcome!
These are great! Is there anything situational specific for government policy roles ?
Hi Amri, Just a quick Thank You for your hints and tips on success profiles and interviews. I recently passed my interview moving sideways from IE to HMRC. Although I had others helping, your guidance definitely helped me. I scored 6 in both behaviours and total of 10 (out of 12) for 3 strengths questions. Thank You.
The best bit of advice I would have for anyone is preparing properly before interview. I took a week off prior to it and it defintely helped me structure my behaviours and practice them.
Congratulations! Thanks so much sharing this with me I really hope you enjoy your new role.
Completely agree, preparing properly is so important and you were clearly dedicated in your prep, congrats and really well done!
@@amriceleste Thanks. I surprised myself!
Congratulations, can you please tell me what questions you were asked?
hi Amri , ive got an interview tom after a spell being self employed , I've been given a heads up and Q would be : organising and planning, what do you do to ensure toy complete them! what action did you take if you didn't achieve them. also problem solving and tell me about a time where you delivered great customer service.. i naturally do this but i cant think of scenario
Amazing videos. What would you do if you had to break a rule for the betterment of a clients case?
You are outstanding! Thanks so much ❤️
You're welcome Beth!
Thanks to your insights and the knowledge I gained from the video, I was able to showcase my abilities and expertise during the job application process. The information proved to be instrumental in impressing the hiring team, and I am thrilled to announce that I have been offered the position!
Congrats Pratik! 🎉 Thank you so much for sharing, fantastic!
Thank you for sharing, very informative. Just subbed! Would you say the approach to answering situational questions would be the same if you were going for a management role versus a employee level? Thanks again. Videos are very well done. I love the outtakes. Cheers.
Thank you for the support, much appreciated! I would say it really depends on the individual role and the specific question - at management level many of the questions may be centred around leadership, strategy, team development such as motivation, one to one's, personal development etc so in that case the answers would need to be geared more specifically towards those mmanagament skills, however for a general question such as give me an example of a time when you motivated others many of the answers can be used interchangeably. Hope this helps!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 star!
Thank you!
Thank you very much for the usefulness of the video. What would be the best answer if the manager still does not agree with the explanation as she already agreed with customer? Thank you
Great, helpful video
Glad you think so!
Great video, I’ll surely be trying this out. How often did you do it? Daily or weekly?
Thank You
You're welcome
I think for interviews especially as a graduate it's better to be able to use the same examples for multiple questions, otherwise, you'll end up having a different example for each question.
An amazing lady, very elequent and competent
Very kind feedback, thank you much aprpeciated.
Good Afternoon !i must say i stumbled across your video while taking notes of my own on interview questions and answers and I love how detailed you are and I didn't skip a minute. praying to have you with me spiritually on my interview Monday 🥲

Hi Amri, I like your videos, can you please help me to master some behavioural questions that relation to Cost controller. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much you are really amazing I Love you ❤
Thank you so much Heba! 🧡🧡🧡
This one is a tricky question I've come across recently: "Please describe your problem-solving skills. Give us an example when you used these skills to solve the root cause of a problem instead of implementing a temporary or quick fix? What was the outcome?"
When you could, I'd love to know how you would answer this matter. Please and thank you!
I have an interview tomorrow and this is incredibly helpful. Wish me luck!
Best of luck, glad you found it helpful!
Thanks so much Amri, I actually have an interview tomorrow. I may be contacting you in the future, although you have actually prepared me for the interview. Have a good evening.
You're welcome! and Good Luck for your interview.

Thanks for this video. I have interview with NHS for HR officer, please can you assist with a guide?
The video was of great help. 👍
You're welcome Charu!
Hi Amri. I have an upcoming video interview to do and one of the questions is I need to explain a time when my manager was unavailable and I had to resolve an immediate problem. What did I do and what was the outcome? How can I articulate that in a prior role, when my manager abruptly left the company, she was the HR manager and I was the HR coordinator and I was getting overwhelmed with requests. Thanks in advance.
very informative
Glad it was helpful!
