Traditional bow kill on 10pt buck in Georgia

- My buddy Matt has been watching these bucks for several years. He hunts with a traditional bow only. There have been very few opportunities within 15 yards, much less with 3 mature bucks because the conditions have to be perfect. We have been waiting on this day since season opened. This was the first sit of the year and shows how killable unpressured deer are. Matt had an encounter with another really nice buck in 2020 that he had been watching for 2 years and when he shot the buck with his recurve, the shot hit high because the deer drops so quickly and these traditional bows are so slow. Matt actually shot about 1 foot under the buck in this video and the deer squatted right into it. The arrow hit the buck in the heart but he still ran about 200-250 yards which shows how much distance these animals can cover in a short time. I was running camera and am so grateful to God that I got to witness this awesome hunt!
What a great deer! Great camera work also, it looks like you’ve got a good group of guys to hunt with.
Thanks Phil. They are some great guys. Can’t wait for you to meet everyone.
Great hunt guys, thanks for posting it.
Are those autumn orange XX75’s? Love those arrows
Yessir, hard to find these days
Really awesome Matt and A Great job filming too. Should make you proud to accomplish that.
Congratulations
Thank you!
Great video,good track job!
Thanks
Great buck
Nice buck man
Congrats buddy..fellow Georgia hunter...I know how hard it is with a bow and in Georgia to kill a wall hanger.
What is the fruit on the ground
Crabapple
Good stuff by why didn’t you shoot the bigger 10 point?
Great question. The other 2 bucks were feeding, facing us and what looks like a good shot from the cameras perspective was not a good shot for Matt.
Nock a arrow...? Is it legal to shoot deer at night, with the aid of a light in your area? You might want to check the regs on that.
Congrats on a great kill with traditional gear, AWSOME!!
Are you insinuating that I was advocating for poaching? Obviously I mean nock an arrow for the already wounded deer.....
