Good stuff ... this was filmed at the Legend M concert on Moa's 20th birthday in 2019, so the lyric was changed from the original "this special night of my 15" to "this special night of my 20". At concerts in 2014 on or near their 15th birthdays Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) were handed the mic and stand by Su to take over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' just the same as Moa did here. Unfortunately only fancam videos from those shows exist. On Jennifer's thoughts about BABYMETAL being a short term thing ... I think you were confused by the Sakura Gakuin clubs (like after school clubs) where they would only be members until they graduated and left Sakura Gakuin. The Heavy Music Club (ie BABYMETAL), Mini Pati Cooking Club, Twinklestars Baton Club (and there were others) were only ever intended to exist within Sakura Gakuin originally, so girls would be members and when they graduated new girls would come in and continue the clubs (just as would happen at a real school). When Su was 15 and had to graduate from Sakura Gakuin to follow her chosen career as a singer it was decided, because of their growing popularity and success, that BABYMETAL should also separate from Sakura Gakuin to be her vehicle - also Yui's and Moa's although they continued with Sakura Gakuin for another 2 years until they were 15 and had to graduate, so until then they were working with Sakura Gakuin and touring with BABYMETAL at the same time. It is over 12 years since BABYMETAL formed as the heavy Music Club. Su and Moa have spent more than half their lives in BABYMETAL (Su is 25, Moa is 23) and their focus seems as strong as ever with continuing to do what they have been doing all these years Thank you very much for asking and I am very sorry, but I will have to decline your very kind offer. I don't do Zoom or anything like that (its probably my age) and I prefer to remain relatively private and to keep any contributions I can make to the comments sections. However, also don't take anything I might say as criticism (unless I make it really obvious😁), I know perfectly well you won't remember most of what we tell you or told you in the past - that was meant as a gentle and playful dig because I knew you could take it.
Great reaction! Absolutely love your enthusiasm for BABYMETAL. This was indeed the concert to celebrate Moa's 20th birthday... and she completely owned this performance. Su is definitely humble... and her humility was on display here. Thank you for the reaction, and blaze on... 🦊🤘🔥🖤
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 There were quite a few significant 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' performances since the song was introduced. There's the 'Legend 1997' performance, the day after Su's 16th birthday in 2013, of the special 'Headbanger (Night of 15 Mix)'. That was first performed a year earlier, for Su's 15th birthday, at 'Legend D'. It's a dubstep mix. Really. To celebrate their 15th birthdays, Yui took over the lead in Paris on July 1st, 2014, Moa took over in Cologne, Germany on July 3rd, 2014. What often gets overlooked is that they each took the lead again, when they got back to Japan. Yui at APOCRYPHA - Y on July 21st, 2014, and Moa at APOCRYPHA - M later that same day. Su performed the song at two concerts near her 20th birthday in December 2017. These were the first BABYMETAL shows in Su's home prefecture of Hiroshima. This was also the first time the lyrics were changed from fifteen to twenty. This Moabanger performance for Moa's 20th birthday in 2019 is probably my favorite though.
👍 👍 Well done showing her this. This is one of my favorite LIVE performances by BabyMetal period. Everything comes together here. The awesome Kami Band instrumentals, the crowd excitement and interaction, Suzuka’s generosity and Moa’s charm and evident talent. It is all a magnificent treat for the senses.
18:04 Not only are they about to release a new album, but there is a strong indication they are going to add a permanent third member in April, so another 10 years looks more likely than ever!
Su-metal lethal death stare at the breakdown Mometal lethal death smirk, and quick smile at crowd's reaction when she started singing. This Live for Moa's 20th birthday celebration in her hometown of Nagoya. Jen - after 13 years, they are entering a new era and will release a concept album "The Other One" on 24 Mar. I believe this is merely a transitional period and a fifth album is already in the works continuing their journey through the Metal Kingdoms. Many of us believe a new (3rd) member will be announced on the Fox Day Live.
If you get the lyrics for Headbanger you will notice they change the lyrics for whichever birthday they were celebrating Special nights of their 16, 18, and 20 year I believe they have done
Just 15th and 20th birthdays. There were no lyric changes for other years. 15 is the age of the girl in the song. 20 is the traditional year of adulthood in Japan.
I've been a fan of BABYMETAL since 2015 and I think I know a lot about them. But Grington300 300 and Rick Wagner are the two that I consider the experts! It is fun to learn about BM and SG and the journeys of all the members. Soon to be 63 and with enjoying a lot of weed in my younger days my memory is not what it use to be either.
Loved seeing them in Stockholm in 2020. SKYND was the opener which was amazing for me but a little weird for the young crowd that really wasn't expecting heavy music about true crime :)
Nice burbing reaction. Moabanger is a great performance by Babymetal. You get to see so many things that represent what Babymetal is. Great stage presence and theatrics. Amazing audience participation. The big birthday shows. How humble they are and willing to let each other shine. And here Moa who is known for her great smile and dimples. Tries to do her best Su Death Stare. Just to be Moa and smirks. And we love it. Because it's Moa. Moa is now 23 and apparently Su has been teaching her how to do the death stare more. They released the video for Metal Kingdom from the concert they did at the end of January. Moa displays a serious beautiful Death Stare during the song. We also get a smirk letting everyone know. Moa is still the Moa everyone has come to know and love. With that said Momoko who wasn't on stage for the performance of Metal Kingdom joined them later. And we have a great photo that I've seen with her displaying the Death Stare. Which is amazing because during the last tour. She couldn't stop smiling. Let's face it. Everyone would be smiling if they were on tour with Babymetal. Especially since she's a friend from Sakura Gakuin. To me it's another sign that Momoko could be the new third member come April that Babymetal hinted at in their last show. Moa did a great job on Headbanger. But she missed a breathing spot, and you can hear her breathing hard as she goes because of it. Until she gets another breath spot for the hold note and then following that she lets out a big headbanger scream. Which I bet she was dying to let out. Moa can sing and you can hear how compatible her voice is to Su's more and more these days. All of these things are why I say Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.
Moabanger is ❤. 🤟🦊🤟 Jenn's point about the finite nature of Babymetal is interesting. They are such a lightning-in-a-bottle thing that could easily have not worked out the way it did, and it remains a constant wonder that Babymetal exists at all. After 10BB and the uncertainty around the sealing, many fans were forced to confront the idea that Babymetal probably won't be around forever, and we should enjoy every moment as much as possible while we have them, because no-one really knows how long it will continue. I think that living in the now and appreciating what we have is very in the spirit of what Babymetal is about anyway, so maybe its fitting.
I was lucky enough to see them twice in London, the last of which was barely an hour in length and no one complained as it was such an ethereal experience. I've just got tickets to see them supporting Sabaton at Wembley in April, although it should be the other way around IMHO. I've just got home from another gig , Beast in Black who supported Nightwish on their last big tour. Not sure if you've covered them - but well worth it! Great reaction as always 👍
Picking up on Jennifer's thoughts about Babymetal's future, when they played their shows last month they brought out a younger alternate version of themselves to sing Doki Doki Morning with them. One of the theories is that with them about to bring on a permanent 3rd member of the group in April they are going to go in a different direction musically in the Metalverse. And possibly this younger version of Babymetal will continue on with the Kawaii metal aspect of the music. It's a wild theory but anything is possible in the Babymetalverse, so what does the future hold for Babymetal? Only The Fox God knows🦊🤘
@@PeaceKeeperReaction I've only seen one short fancam video of this, and a couple of photos,I believe the age of those girls was 15 and 13. Because the announcement of the 3rd member is happening in Yui's hometown some people think she might be coming back. That would be cool but not likely, popular opinion is that it's going to be Momoko the Avenger who's been with them for the last few years. We'll all know who on April 1st and 2nd when they perform again. BTW they're releasing a new song tomorrow morning 🦊🤘

I disagree. They will keep going as Babymetal as long and Su and Moa wants to do it. They will retire afterwards. They got a good thing going. Most idol groups don't last long and the ones that do are constantly swapping out members.
