- 12.28.13 Philadelphia Fire Department Engine 63 and Ladder 29 responding to the 1200 block of Tabor Avenue for a box assignment. Squad 72 had nothing showing and handled the assignment alone. Engine 63 is a 2003 ALF and is normally housed alone here at 12th Street and Oak Lane Avenue in the city's West Oak Lane section. Ladder 29 is a 2013 ALF and is temporarily being housed with Engine 63 due to work being done on their station. Same with Medic 18 which is seen pulling out in the beginning of the video. Ladder 29 and Medic 18 are normally housed with Engine 51 and Battalion 2 at Old York Road and Champlost Street in the city's Fern Rock section. The church at the corner where Ladder 29 blows the horn is the site of a major 4 Alarm blaze back in August the same day I was in NYC buffing FDNY.

Good video and good looking trucks.
Thanks!
@nightfall22 Those are built by American LaFrance. The Engine is a 2003 model and the Ladder is a 2013 Model.
Great catch
Awesome video!! what a beast
Thanks! And that it is. Can't wait to see how these new tillers hold up.
This would be a fun ride with engine 63 and ladder 29.
nice catch
how old is the ambulance
Very nice vid, I wish you would get more videos of ladder 29, other than this vid and Ron Roberts vid of ladder 29 , there is never a video of ladder 29. Also please get battalion 2 thanks.
Sunset Shimmer Ill try
great video as usual brother. Tell me, who makes those engines/trucks? Where I worked in La County KME was the big maker of Engines etc... But La City Fire uses these and I have not been close enough to see the maker. Any idea? Thanx and keep those great vids coming! Blessings

@CraZe ExoticZ Thanks and I had a big issue with dislikes on my videos. Got hit with multiple on each of my most recent videos within 30 minutes then on January 1 I re-enabled them and the same thing happened so they are gone again for a while.
CraZe ExoticZ No, not 100%. It happened before but I found out right away who it was and it was resolved but I am sure this isn't the same person.
That's one nice ladder what did it replace?
It replaced a 1998 ALF Tiller.
How come there aren't any pictures of it?
Yoshi the Railfanner I have photos on my Flickr page. Link was just posted in the description. Just search "PFD Ladder 29" on my photo stream.
It’s with engine 51
The '13 ALFs have red front bumpers (like the new KMEs). I guess that will grow on me. :/
I thought ladder 29 was housed with engine 51??
It is. This was during a short period when it was housed with E63 due to to the floor being replaced in Engine 51s station.
what truck was housed here because I ca make out the bay on the right says "Truck"
Used to be Ladder 17. That was disbanded back in the 80s.
Aaron Mott why not move 29 truck here
Dalton Partlow Theres usually 3 spare units kept here so theres not usually room for an extra unit and L29 gets many more calls in Engine 51s area.
Aaron Mott I don't have a picture of 51 Could u send me 1 plz?
Aaron Mott how old is the ambulance
Its a 2008 GMC, so its 8 years old.
Thanks
How big is ladder 29

Wow i only live 5 mins from there and i'm at the bus stop for the School District of Philadelphia every morining waiting for my bus to come they are the best at engine 63 station they respond the fastest. ladder 29 is not there any more they replace it with engine 430 just to let you know.
Ladder 29 was only temporarily there while work was being done on their station on Old York Road. Engine 430 is a spare Engine that Engine 63 is using.
I know now it looks like they replace it again with engine 73 now.
