  • The delectable Mary McCarty enjoyed a return to Broadway fame in 1971 in Follies, singing "Who's That Woman". She followed this success as Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, singing "When You're Good to Mama", heard here from the opening night performance.

    It's funny how she went from portraying Mother Goose in Disney's 1961 film version of Babes in Toyland to playing this role. Mary was a woman with range. So talented. May she rest in peace.

    okay so I totally thought this was a video at first and couldn’t figure out for the life of me why Fosse staged her reveal to be of her in a total stand(sit)-still. Then, you know, she started singing…
