It’s crazy how you have multiple pros talking about how Steve just destroys everyone and can camp and play super scummy but nobody can do anything about it… you can hear the demoralization in their voice when they talk about Steve
The greatest compliment I've heard about Marss is that he makes top players feel dumb. I think it was from Tweek a while back which speaks volume in my opinion
Did Sonix and Miya even play in the ranking season? Don't think they have a head to head. Also Miya entered way way way more tournaments than Sonix. Easier to be consistent when you enter less Also Shinymark won everything he entered except 1 tournament. Basically winning head to heads against every top player he fought. His placement makes sense. In reality he's probably top 10 skill-wise if he entered more
@@Greeds_ no, before super nova their last match was at watch the throne, which was the end of 2023 season. They did not fight at all in the 2024.1 season which this video is discussing
And Miya was still remarkably consistent. He won seven out of the 14 majors he attended, and made grand finals at 10 out of 14 majors he attended last season. His four underperformances were just unexpectedly low(17th, 7th, 9th, 13th) which makes them very memorable, but his other tournaments and the amount of wins he accumulated were enough.
57:40 so according to the lumkrank ppl, Zombas genesis was the 2nd most valuable tournament of the entire season (the most valuable being hurt at kagaribi where he literally double eliminated the #1 player in the world) The issue is zomba didnt really have the same number of rlly good tournaments outside of that while players like raru and yaura had more consistent high placements with good wins and consistency is valued above all (that's why shuton > shadic for example)
This all seems true and believable but my only thing is we need to be able to see the real numbers for ourselves, because firstly, it has changed since PG and the last LumiRank by Luminosity; secondly, even the ACTUAL pros are confused about the rankings, not just casual player or sub-top-100 players. I do think Sonix should have been placed at #2 and stuff. Either should be improved or be explained AND viewable in the calculations, or be doable by the audience. Always great hearing takes from Marss and MkLeo, considering they've been at the top with characters that haven't been. About Luugi: Until I hear otherwise, I give him a pass on the taunting, as a lot of his play seems centered about the hype and funfactor; I think he goes for more dangerous options just in the chance that he will create a clippable moment rather than be safer and go just for a victory. But in general, most taunting players do seem disrespectful, and two more recent examples that stand out to me are the Steve player from Mexico and The DK player from Japan, coincidentally both vs. MKLeo.
