Beginner / Intermediate Contact Staff Tutorial - Angel Roll - How to flow with the contact staff

In this tutorial I will teach you a slightly more dificult trick: the angel roll. This skill has some prerequisites, especially the halo and neckwrap. It also helps to have started working on the steve. Luckily I have made videos for all of these tricks, plus some others, in my beginners series!
The angel roll, as the name implies, involves having the staff rolling on itself. Therefore, this trick is different to other tricks, such as the conveyor belt, where the staff is only rotating around the center point and not rolling.
This trick is a great and essential one to add to your repertoire, and I hope you have fun learning it.

congratulations, this is definitely the best angel tutorial i have seen so far :)
Just one nit-pick/conversation starter: I would argue that super thin sticks and esppecially flowers make the angel roll harder rather than easier... as it is harder to get enough rolling momentum into the staff for it to travel the whole distance over the body and that it does not everspin

Please, what is the flower addition to the staff, that slows it? Ty
Too, l have a 1⅙"x 50" light rattan, no tapering, no tape, no end caps. I like it, being wood, and I'm also new to staff, having been spinning bamboo cane for fun a bit. Are the tape and ends necessary, and what are they, please? Ty
