you mentioned the transmission issues, saying changing the oil might cause more problems, those transmissions have 2 filters ,one is the screen inside the pan, and a screw on oil filter mounted on the side of the trans.I..its possiable you have dirty plugged up filters, maybe changing the oil and screen plus filter could help improve the transmission.
Apparently I just called the alternator shop and he's telling me that there are 3 different alternators used in this truck with the 5.7.... smdh chrysler and thank you for confirming for me how easy i was thinking this would be as far as R&R
Thanks for the video. I have a 05 Ram 1500 that I believe the alternator is shot. Battery was dead, I jumped it and it started up right away but the needle on my volts gauge was reading lower than the middle, so I’m guessing alternator...? Where does the needle on your voltage gauge sit usually with a good alternator? Should be to the right past the middle correct?
ok so mine usually sits above the middle slightly. But you don't want to go by that... first things first... while the truck is running...take off the neg battery terminal.. If it stalls right away its your alternator. easy test.
also... the alternator is easy enough to take out that you should and bring it right to auto zone if you think its bad.. The can test it for free and tell you!!
Hey man I've had issues in the past with the truck shutting off at idle. No check engine light ever. All I got once was a random misfire. It turns out it was the crankshaft position sensor. Got it new and replaced it. And it never shut off til now one year later. I crank it and it clicks. So I took the starter. Tested it at autozone and it tested good. I warranty my battery and got a new one brand spanking new. Duralast platinum. And when I jump start it or put it on a charger. As soon as I stop charging it drops below 10 volts and it still wont start man. Helpppp do you think it could be the alternator? I'm removing it today thank you so much for the video you're the best man
i absolutely think you have a bad alt. an easy test is once its running.. pull the negative cable off and see if the truck stalls. Thanks for the love!!
@@BlackoutBilll21 damn it tested good at autozone. I'm gonna mount it back up right now. But I have no idea what else it could be I'm gonna try the ignition switch and cross fingers
Mine not showing code for alternator but it stalls on my and the drive belt squeals sometimes. Crazy thing is the only code coming up on the check engine is a P0455 gas cap code /evap. Changed the cap and still not going away but I might have 2 different issues but only one coming ups on codes 🤦♀️
Gracias me ayudaste mucho 👍💪

its possible.. I would consider changing the filters and just putting the original fluid back!
@gdamtbnms ..put new ..correct fluid for the Trans back in..don't add supplements..or additives..Dodge transmission are finicky
He sounds like Fry from Futurama
Hahaha well played sir!! I hear it!!!

acceleration shaking is usally from a bad U joint in the drive shaft!! My DW fix was a upgrade tbar steering AND the dual stabilizers

@@BlackoutBilll21 that would be greatly appreciated I tried and can't find a fuse for it

@@thenewlife.pt2724 make sure your battery cables are not corroded or fraying! a week connection could also be a problem!
It's hard to put it back on because of the washers on the mount
