When I was interning in LA back in 1999, I met James Galanos. We became friends and we was such a gentleman. I have never met anyone more classy than him and his house was like a museum. Doris- I watch your channel all the time and this video made me so happy. RIP Jimmy xo
I love the passion Doris and her team have to do the research, to reflect on personal experiences and make these amazing videos! Please keep posting, we love this channel!
My mother was a client of Galanos. I remember once when I was a child, accompanying her to Saks Fifth Avenue for a trunk show of his clothes. Everyone was all aflutter when he arrived. I recall thinking the grown-ups were silly to fawn over a dress designer, albeit a very gifted one.
I love vintage clothes they were made with love 💜🎀
The clothes were just stunning and your history talk of the designs and designer was awesome
OMG, I had to rewatch this episode just for that gorgeous ostrich feather dress you showed in season 1 of LA Frock Stars. “We don’t make them this well in Paris.” Coming from Givenchy, that is high, high praise indeed!
I cannot begin to tell you how you sharing your knowledge has helped me over the years. 90% of my wardrobe is thrifted. I've been able to develop an eye for timeless pieces, good quality fabrics and true vintage. I'm helping the planet, saving money and building a beautiful wardrobe xxx thank you Doris
Doris you truly are a master class for young designers,.. wonderful presentation and your passion shines through
The polk a dot and yellow pant suit are amazing
I love watching Doris show us pieces by designers that she truly loves to talk about. You can tell she loves what she does. Loved learning about Galanos and see her pieces. The craftsmanship is impeccable. I cannot wait to get to LA again and visit her store. Thank you Doris ...another web-isode in the can. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Love you Doris and your channel, I always learn so much!! 😻👠👗👘🎩😻
Thank you. Loved every one of the items. If I could afford to, I'd wear them at home, and dress up for dinner, etc. It's such a shame that the younger generation doesn't (know how to) dress, and what it does for oneself to look good in beautiful clothes.
Thank you for another wonderful video episode, Doris and the team at The Way we Wore. DORIS, you are correct, it's Robert PIGUET pronounced like [PEE-GAY] - not meaning to be crude, but that's almost how you say it.
LOL
I miss that genteel quality, too.
Gorgeous Galanos! Thank you, Doris, for yet another outstanding video!🌹❤️
I love that paisley print you're wearing! This is a great video for me as a non-American to learn more about American designers and design. Thank you for another great, interesting and informative video. You are very engaging and show great examples of what you're talking about.
Doris you look so great! God bless you 😘
His work is truly timeless. The LBD with contrasting belt and LAYERS of tulle could be worn today!
As long as you are posting I'll be watching, Another great episode 👏👍
I can't help but look at your gold cuff bracelet. That is amazing!
Nothing compares to your store and the dedication you put into bringing vintage pieces everytime you show and explain it, is impeccable . How I wish LA Frock Stars will come back soon. You’re amazing Doris! I’m a fan!
Incredible collection! Thank you for keeping the art of Galanos alive.
Thank you for the closeups of the incredible embellishment work for those of us who will never get as close as you do to these incredible pieces, Doris! We can admire both the vision of the designer and the skills of the craftspeople who assemble these amazing fashions.
Doris, excellent as always. I appreciate that most of our First Ladies supported the American fashion industry with the exception of the last one. Nancy Reagan looked stunning in that Galanos gown. You do too, my friend, thanks for this, look forward to all you do.
Great job Doris and team. Thank you for posting this video. I enjoyed it. Much love always from Nebraska ❤️
Love the polka dot dress
Hand rolled chiffon. Kill me now. So beautiful.
Your best video yet. Such beautiful clothes and I agree, a lot of people dress poorly. In New Zealand, it's assumed black is always chic.
My favorite is the Chantilly lace with overlay…so elegant!
Fabulous choice! Galanos is so interesting and the level of construction, finishing etc are amazing.
The embellishment work is magnificent.
OUTSTANDING EPISODE. When I first became interested in Fashion, Galanos and Norell were at the top of my list. I’m thrilled to see this episode! Thank you!!
You are always a delight and I absolutely love when a video drops!
Oh Doris, I wish you COULD have gone on for hours.
I agree! My only complaint ever is that their videos are too short! But I adore Doris Raymond and will happily take what I can get!👏🏻🎁💖
As always you look amazing Doris. I can not wait to be able to purchase more beautiful items from you. You are truly one of a kind. Your hard work speaks for itself.
omg when u mentioned diana ross, i immediately thought of tracee and dreaming of u interviewing her while she shows off the dresses she got from her mother, whether or not there was permission coz she talks about that hehe
Wow! Doris you look healthy and happy. Fantastic to see you looking vibrant. Excited to see this new video. Keep up the great work and keep doing whatever it is you’re doing!
Doris be well be safe
Thankyou for your time, your enthusiasm and your patience love from Bunbury western Australia x x
love the halter dress with the ruff, the giant floral set, mrs. nat king cole's dress, the tiered peekaboo flapper with flower, the gussetted mod lurex, and the yellow space set =]
thankyou for another lesson, doris 💜
You have educated me on James Galanos. I was really impressed with what you had on your rack.
Yes, I miss Cary Grant, but I can watch Charade (again and again). Oh the McGuire Sisters, that takes me back. Thank you.
I REALLY hope that some of the guests invited to the MET Gala contacted you 👀 I mean, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, that is the best opportunity to wear some BEAUTIFUL vintage pieces!
Wonderful video! Thank you Doris
need to see that giraffe print piece in the background on the left
I am extremely interested in the management side of the store and collection. How does keeping up with clients interested in particular era/designer work. How do you stay on top of what you have. This would be an amazing series to make and irreplaceable know-how to release.
Watch the TV show about this shop. Lots of info there.
J'adore Doris!
Great video Doris. Much love as always x
Doris! Now I'm interested in a "ladies who lunch" episode lol
Hey Doris and Company~ That was fabulous... thank you! Doris, you are a beautiful gift that I treasure. You looked fab today, as usual! The video was so fun. My word, every piece was fantastic! Until you drop in again... be well, take care, and stay strong beautiful lady❣️
Stunning
You, as always, rock.

Another great episode. Thanks so much!
This video is so interesting! Thank you for your work!
love your videos
love that top
Very interesting , I wonder if he was of greek heritage , because Galanos is a greek name . The greeks would pronounce the G like a Y . So you would say Yalanos . The meaning of Galanos in greek is the colour light blue .
So interesting, thank you!
It may be because my monitor isn't picking up the actual colors of those beautiful outfits, but it looked to me that he used a very specific black color and white color for all his outfits that required those two colors so that every one of those pieces will match perfectly when mix matching his outfits. If it is that, then he is a genius. I hate buying a black or a white outfit and it never matches perfectly with other black or white outfits I have. The shades are different.
Side note: I don't design outfits, but do appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry of these couture outfits. If I were to have the knack in creating them, I would make sure every color I use, will match perfectly in color and shade with other outfits I'd create. First design would be an outfit of colors of the rainbow of the exact colors and shades that I would solely use in my designs. Because I am not that person, I hope a person that is that, picks up on this idea of mine and run with it.
Thanks
👏👏👏
I have an original full-length hand-sewn mink and hat that was made by Galanos and purchased in 1984. My Uncle now passed owned it. It is actually signed on the inside of the coat by Mr. Galanos...still have the receipt and hat to match. I'd love to contact you if you're interested in these items.
Произведения искусства!!! Очень красиво;!
It would be wonderful to see these pieces in particular on a human body?
Do you have an authentic pre-1960s traditional men’s top hat?
🙂

Love the quality, although I find the designs quite matronly.
