If you use your camera in greyscale, you can point it at the yarns and then you can see if the colors are too similar. I learned this from ikoxun on yt and its saved me when i cant decide over 2 colors or if the ones I've picked looked too alike.
Hi there! Just to clarify (if it helps with processing/understanding) this has more to do with value than the actual hue of the color. Colors can be completely different, but if they're they're the same value, it's can be harder for our brains to sort it out. That's what was happening with the dirt and coffin here. I hope that helps!
I don't know why, but I will say that this vest makes me think of an 8-bit game's opening or ending screen. That little skelly man absolutely steals the whole scene, love him!
If you want to "bring the ribbing in", use a hook 2 sizes smaller for the ribbing. I promise you, it will make a world of difference, and will look cohesive. Your waist and sleeve cuff will look they way they should. This is the secret to making any sweater, vest, sleeve. Good luck!
so cute!!! i love the little skeleton man so much! the end result is so good, im glad you revisited it, you look so genuinely happy in the wrap up section :)
It's sooo cool! I love it! And, you are right, for making vest even if you want an oversize look you must tapered it for the arm hole!! Sometimes I even add a band to the side under the arm hole if I want it more over size! I love making vest because it's more versatile than sweater and It take less time 😂
love you videos!! im also obsessed with making vests, and it took me awhile to get the shaping right. I chain/cast on the amount i want, and then i work up until my arm hole would begin, usually i leave 1.5” of stitches unworked on each side (so when sewn together its 3”, but you can also achieve this by just measuring the width of your side). so when i get to that row, fasten off my yarn & then reattach it 1.5” closer to the center. after that, i take the measurement of how wide i want the shoulders to be (usually 4” or so) and decrease on the sides until i have decreased enough stitches. it definitely gets rid of the “shoulder pad look” and keeps the garment as oversized as youd like!!!
This turned out so good!! I saw it on instagram first and rushed over to watch the video. I'm glad you were able to make alterations to make it more of what you wanted it to be! Excited to see what's next!
I love this idea so much. I’m still on a yarn buying strike but I wish i could also get some nice wool yarn 😭😭 I’m not finished with the video yet but already loving it 💖💖
It looks good! I like the colors you picked. Not sure if you want advice, if not just ignore me... If you were to decrease at the arm holes you would not end up with it sticking out at the sides and ribbing would line up better with your shoulders. Usually it's like 10/12 stitches on either side and you break it up in a 1, 2, 3 ratio (like: decr 5, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1) ..... And i'm now reaching the point where you say it yourself, so maybe it can help you out. ;) See you on your next video!
20:36 Ok, I have a suggestion for your next vest….. If you are definitely wearing something under it, you could make an upside down “teardrop” arm hole. It goes from the front bottom up and around your shoulder to the back bottom. Yes you would have more ribbing but ya might not look like a football player 😅😂 My aunt made me one for high school and I LOVED it!! Unfortunately I wore it out so it is no longer in existence 😢or I would have sent a pic😢
Re leaving things in the dryer too long to the point of not knowing if it’s wet or just cold: no deffo not a you thing I do it alllll the time lol ! Looks so good, currently making a Christmas vest for myself hehe first time doing colour work and omg…………. The yarn…………………. Idk how you do so many colour works lol
I wish I was more experiemented in pattern-making so I could turn your crochet patterns into knitting patterns. I LOVE all the Halloween patterns you release but I can't stand crochet garments 🥲
To translate the pixel art aspect of it into knitting - I'm a new knitter beginning to learn to colour work and Made in the Moment on yt has a tutorial on colour work (making a cherry motif if I remember correctly) and that was such a huge help for me trying to figure out how to translate pixel grids to knitting when most I've seen have been for crochet 🍁🎃

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I have such a hard time with colors ❤❤❤
Im working on a patchwork cardigan, and every square is two colors, and I’ve been using this trick to pick every color pair

Thank you from someone currently working on her first pullover. I’ve been crocheting for nearly 30 years. Never crocheted a wearable.

I sooooo agree with you, - the skeleton is awesome 😀. I think the vest in it self is really cool too.
Poltergeist 2 is one of my favourite movies of all time.
This is fabulous!!! You did an amazing job 😊

Thumbs up!! You're so hard on yourself (aren't we all), it's so good, Michelle :)
The "hay in the yarn" bit sound like some Briggs & Little shade, lol
AHHH SO EXCITED!! 🧡🎃🪦

This has me dead. I love your content.
Yeah, it needed to be shaped a bit - and I think you could've done so if the graves were brought a little closer together. Still very cute!

I think this would look great with elbow length tapered sleeves.
Love it! 😍
