First time viewer here... I'm not sure if you have ADHD, but as someone who does have it... this video fills my soul. The mid project burnout fear, the chaos, etc. It's me!! I just started crocheting 11 months ago and I already feel like I need to organize my yarn stash! I have a fun pegboard to put a lot of of my pretty yarn cakes on, but it doesn't hold everything! Time to get to organizing!
Hi! I recently reorganized my stash too and I learned the best hack ever for managing the ends of yarn that get all tangled. Use hair clips or Bobby pins to clip the end of the yarn to the rest of the ball. Then it stays perfectly wound up even when you have to move them around hunting for something!
that’s actually such a good idea, i might have to go and get a bunch of bobby pins just for this lol i have very short hair so i own not a single bobby pin xD
Hi, my beautiful friend. I’m putting this comment here to remind you in a year of what you said. “ should take all the little bits & put them in a ziploc bag and note what type of yarn they are. But, I’ll get it all organized and go through each tote individually and do that.” 😂😅😢🎉 I’ve done that TWICE in the past 20 years and I never thought of organizing once my 2k totes were filled and stacked away. 😊 I will say you are an amazing, crafty, energetic girl & I pray you do come back to them! I also think the hanks should go in their own bin, like you said, because even if you’re just wanting to watch tv, you could be also winding up some balls. (Theoretically:) it was fun watching you do this! I love all your videos. Do you think you’ll ever do a video on that round loom? I have all the Martha Stewart looms and was hoping to use the ‘random’ skeins to make hats. ❤
Last August my family left me home alone for several days (husband took the kids camping) and I decided to organize my yarn. I emptied it all on the table, caked and weighed any open skeins, and cataloged it all on ravelry and a handwritten list that I placed in with the yarn itself. That took me basically all week after work, and in the end I filled one of those same black totes with the blue lid. What you accomplished was a huge undertaking. It really does help to know exactly what you have on hand when planning. You've made me realize I have not done a good job at maintenance and I should probably spend some time updating by lists and repacking my bin! I live fairly local to you and am equally impressed you got it done with how heavy and humid it's been
hot tip for stopping the balls of yarn from unravelling: buy hair clips and clip the ends to the ball!! this has saved my life (yes i think i have a million clips but it’s better than untangling unraveled yarn😅)
the random moss yarn will make grass or bushes for your dollhouse! Great job organizing, that was a big job! to use up your 1 skeins and random skeins, you can hold 3 together and make some scrap baskets, to hold your wips!
I’ve been keeping my small yarn balls in jars and using them as decor 😆 Eventually I’ll wind them into scrap cakes, but for now i enjoy seeing all the colours 🧶 I didn’t realize the granny square yarn comes in a large skein, that seems a little more worth the price, i might get some. Just save that tangled yarn barf to use as stuffing 👍 Thanks for a fun video 👏
Highly recommend Ravelry for cataloging your yarn. They already have the majority of brands in their database so you don’t have to log all that info, and you can cross reference your available stash when looking at projects. It’s a job to get it in there to begin with but once it is, it’s super useful!
Please please please make a 'everything I've ever crocheted' video 🙏 I love watching your videos they are so entertaining and calming. Especially the everything I made in *timeline* videos are my favourites 😌🫶 Currently watching this to calm down after my workday while knitting pair of socks
This was wonderful! I love yarn stash organizing videos. I am one of those people who will sit and detangle big knot clusters of yarn but I know it is not for everyone. For me, it is very cathartic and satisfying. I'm so glad you feel better after this!
I found this video so helpful and relatable! I don’t crochet, but I’ve assembled jewelry for 15 years now and I find the same struggles as you do, Michelle, with rebuying and organization of supplies …I love the idea of an app to help with cataloging your supply. I use lots of clear storage bags, but really anyone that’s creative knows the balance between work and organization…it’s like i can work or organize..lol..but if I’m too organized, I can’t make anything… ❤ Your camper is super cute! 🥰
Love the Poppy Canvas Bag on top of the pile, reminds me of my mom. You have some beautiful yarn of so many cool textures. Would love to see you make the 6-Day Star Afghan with your oddball stash.😊
if you use those little hair clips to hold down the ends of the yarn to the label/ ball it helps with preventing tangling and helps you find the end immediately when you want to use it!
Organizing yarn: 👍with a little system! Wow! Bought boxes, there's a plan... ❤ It all starts with.... " the most randomst one like I don't know what to do with"! 😂 I'm crying. 3:39 I lovelovelove❤ your video's, going to watch the rest of it now! Update: wow! You nailed it! 💪
Love the yarn but OMG I LOVE the label maker!!! I have one called a Dyno and use it for labelling spice jars or making journals. Hard to get the tape but I have found some at the thrift shop. Geek love for label makers done. LOL.
I use rubberbands to keep my yarn from unraveling/getting tangled. It will be easier to dig in your bins without causing it to tangle again if the ends are not loose. You did a great job. So much pretty yarn ❤
Random question, have you ever watched The Goldbergs? It's about a family in the 80's, all of the 80's esthetic and the mom is always crafting. It's hilarious 😂. Anywho thanks for your content, I watch every week.
I got one of those same type a grey bins from canadian tire, although i think i paid $9.99 for it. I'm actually just now putting some of my yarn into it while watching this vid! Bought it months ago but just never got around to doing it (been using it as a laundry basket, and using the lid as a tray for working on my diamond paintings xD). I'm trying to use up most of my yarn so that there's less overall lol. Having too many things makes me stressed; not getting anymore yarn until ive used up most of what I have... got projects planned for most of it but its gonna take awhile. I sold/donated some that I knew I'd never get around to using. Oh! speaking of, haven't finished video yet, but after you showing the huge heap of tangled yarn and not wanting to untangle it.... I had the same issue, and didn't want to throw it away (I dislike waste). After cutting some then giving up, I actually found someone who wanted it. There are people who enjoy detangling super tangled yarn. I gave it all to her and she somehow got all of it untangled then balled back up within a short time span. She gets tangled yarn from people etc, balls it back up, then donates it to senior centres. I thought that was neat. Just an idea. Anyways, love watching your vids!
Fun video. 😊 I have a love hate relationship with organizing my yarn. It’s so much work but it’s also so worth it. Multi strand projects like baskets & scrapghans are excellent ways to use up yarn (that you don’t have a project in mind for) more quickly than single stranded projects. 👋🏼👋🏼 from Mississauga 🧶💜
I live on my Excel list of yarn. Haven't found an app I liked that was also able to be used offline. Saved my file to Drive and can easily access anywhere. I even have links to yarn website so I can quickly have all details that weren't enough to have on the spreadsheet. This way I can also flag what yarn is being held for a project so it doesn't accidentally get used. Love how your sort worked out!
thank you for another great video,, i would like to remind ya ravelry has a feature where you can look up your yarn and show you the patterns and projects that others have done
Oh my, wow! I have been watching your recent videos today and it's been so much fun! You and your vibe is so beautiful. New subbie. Deffo need to reorganise my stash xD
if you ever get around to using the app you mentioned at the end, please let us know, i’d love to know which one it is! also don’t worry, this was entertaining to watch :D and a good reminder that i also have to get more boxes to stash everything lmao
I desperately need to organize my yarn. The worst of the yarn vomit is hidden away but I know it’s there. I would much rather watch you organize your yarn than try to do mine.
I want to see that video of all the things you made from 2021 and all the way till now from 2024 all the things you crochet I love that kind of stuff 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

I find that using barrettes to clip down the ends of my yarn balls helps a lot with that sort of tangle. Really cozy video😊
I'm voting YES for the ''everything I've crocheted'' video !

Did you know you can download your Ravelry data to a spreadsheet and print it.
hot tip for stopping the balls of yarn from unravelling: buy hair clips and clip the ends to the ball!! this has saved my life (yes i think i have a million clips but it’s better than untangling unraveled yarn😅)
This was so satisfying to watch! If you get the chance, I’d LOVE to see a video of you making that adorable camper!
now that your craft room IS an RV camper, you HAVE to make that litttle kit!!!
the random moss yarn will make grass or bushes for your dollhouse! Great job organizing, that was a big job! to use up your 1 skeins and random skeins, you can hold 3 together and make some scrap baskets, to hold your wips!
The moss yarn with the carpet yarn to make a little rug would be adorable.

Okay, at 2:15, there is something just SO IMMENSELY SATISFYING having all those balls of yarn falling everywhere.
So much fun watching you make progress on the pile!
I want to see the crochet camper! It would be perfect for your new camper 😍
Please please please make a 'everything I've ever crocheted' video 🙏 I love watching your videos they are so entertaining and calming. Especially the everything I made in *timeline* videos are my favourites 😌🫶 Currently watching this to calm down after my workday while knitting pair of socks
You just became one of my favorite UA-camrs!!
Could you do a stash busting video?
Also:completely here for you doing an "everything I crocheted" video

Thank you for your honesty & confronting the "unpleasant"- you made me feel so much better about my YARN PROBLEM LOL!
I love how you worked though it all. I do that with everything but my yarn...

You have so much yarn! I’m so jealous! Scrap yarn projects are my favorite!
Your camper looks huge!! I just bought a vintage caravan that looks just like your kit 😂 keeping the sun off your yarn is important.

This made me feel like I need to organize my yarn 😂😂❤️
I was really rooting for you to untangle that huge knotted ball of y'all. 🥲
Love the yarn but OMG I LOVE the label maker!!! I have one called a Dyno and use it for labelling spice jars or making journals. Hard to get the tape but I have found some at the thrift shop. Geek love for label makers done. LOL.

Hi, I really like the Knit&Note app for keeping track of my yarn and projects 😄
Hello! I just started watching some of your videos the other day. Love your vibe! Hope you have a nice day! ❤
thank you for another great video,, i would like to remind ya ravelry has a feature where you can look up your yarn and show you the patterns and projects that others have done
You make me feel better 😂 I have the same yarnstash...I just moved into my mobile home and I DREAD organizing my yarn.
My God that’s a lot of yarn! How fun.
You should do some sort of “roll for project” segment to work through some of the yarn in a fun way
Oh my, wow! I have been watching your recent videos today and it's been so much fun! You and your vibe is so beautiful. New subbie. Deffo need to reorganise my stash xD

Moss yarn could be cool for moss rug ❤
ravery is amazing for this tbh
Omg I can’t believe I’m first 😂
I love your vids and you’re a huge inspiration for me!
I love this! I really need to organize my yarn. I’m trying to figure out the best way to store all my crochet thread.
you should try doing a frankenyarn! it takes time, but I would love to see your take on it!
omgg whatt?? love these videos!!
Wait, all this time I thought you lived in the trailer! Is your trailer your cute little designated creative space?!
I desperately need to organize my yarn. The worst of the yarn vomit is hidden away but I know it’s there. I would much rather watch you organize your yarn than try to do mine.
“I keep thinking it’s Friday.” The sad consequences of a Crunchie addiction smh
Real life example of great erp
I want to see that video of all the things you made from 2021 and all the way till now from 2024 all the things you crochet I love that kind of stuff 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

11:40 the random strand of ribbon tangled with the yarn
I found a lot of random things in the yarn 😂
i suggest yarnbuddy for yarn inventory!
thank you for clarifying that you did bury yourself in yarn for the thumbnail, I was going to actually ask lmao
😂😂
Do you live in a camper or is it just your workspace in a camper? No judgement...just curious 😊
Do you live in a trailer or is your yarn just in a trailer? Im just curious becusse if so i also live in an RV and wanna say hey camper bestie 😎
Anyone know the pattern for 4:19? The green and white hat? It's soo cute.
i use yarn buddy :)
✨Hiiiiiiiiiiii Never been this early It a first time for everything tho ❤✨
Why don't you use Ravelry?
I don’t like how it’s set up
The tangling gave me anxiety
use that big mess of yarn to stuff something like an amigurumi
