- Dennis Villeneuve's Blade Runner starring Ryan Gosling follows the character of K, we follow him on his supposed destiny, where he figures out that he is the child that was born from a replicant and will become all their saviours and this will repent him from all his sins as a Blade Runner. He will become a Christ like figure to them and lead them to their paradise of freedom.
Is what he hopes for. K is alone. He has no friends, no family and even the work he tirelessly dedicates himself to, despises him. He is an outcast and invisible in this congested environment.
But that glimmer of escape he was looking for, that meaning of life he has now been given crumbled in front of him and left him walking the streets of LA all by himself again.
A lost soul that thought he found it. K is a character that resembles a lot of us, and it is a resemblance that is a hard pill to swallow.
His tale is not one that inspires for the majority of 2049 and instead is one that is looked at with sympathy and pity because he is a character lost in the world looking for someone to see him, not as the blade runner or replicant he is but as this living person

I remembered feeling sad after watching the film and yet delightedly in my bones, felt like something ignited in me that there is hope. I felt bad for the characters especially K who thought he was the special kid that was born from a replicant. All of the characters were looking out for hope.
