I love the look. In Australia, the decor art bottles are $7, so when I see a paint pour I try to think how not to waste too much paint. These are so pretty ❤
Oh wow! Is that ready-to-pour paint or just regular craft paint? I don't do them often either for the same reason, and when I do, it's usually with the more affordable craft paints and I thin them out with Flotrol!
They turned out great! I saw this at Walmart and planned on picking some up. Glad I got to see how it works. I saw a guy use some kind of hair gel to create the cells, but I can't find the video. It was a pump hair gel. I'll have to look again. His came out great also. Thanks for sharing! ♥️🪨🎨
Yes! I think it's like frizz gel or something? There's a lot of different things you can use, and I was looking on Amazon last night and the actual oil drops made specifically for this aren't that expensive either!
OMG!!! I have never wanted to do the pouring of paint on rocks but I think I've got the bug.. going to read up on how to make pouring paint.... we have a fairy rockery out side are caravan and I've been paint the rocks but think I'm going to try pouring to as I well be doing the painting for at least 10 years thank 😊 you once again form the UK,,,
I so wish I could share a pic with you on here - but - instead of the wire racks I use say 40 push pins on an old pizza cardboard. Then turn it over (pointy side up) and rest rocks on that! (Just watch your fingers). Works great!
That's a great idea! I tried some pokey mat things for resin drying once and didn't like the pokey shapes in made, but I could see how you could avoid that with the pours by smoothing it out before its dry!
I have poured and sold at least 100 paintings but pouring on rocks I find trickier. Definitely the pour paint needs to be a bit thicker. I like to use the as a background for one word sentiments.
That's exactly what I was thi Kong of doing...some simple word phrases and maybe an all white mandala or some sort of other design on the right shaped ones!
For our first run, we decided what colors we wanted to do and bought about $2 worth of Apple Barrel paints at $0.50 each (I was assuming we'd use the entire bottle and actually didn't), so that made it less painful. I've also see that people will dip rocks into overflow for another cool marble look that uses up the paint that dripped off, or another gal puts a silicone matt underneath to catch the overflow and then dumps it all back in a cup and pours on more rocks!
🌟 If you haven't tried alcohol inks yet, you should check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/fAKxtHBB-wQ/v-deo.html

@@JessicaRocks I've been wanting to create rock pours with cells. If you get the product, I look forward to a tutorial! 😁
Cool! I've been wanting to try this. Hope you make a tutorial soon :)❤
I will! Want to do a little more experimenting and a little more research so it's got good info!
@@JessicaRocks Awesome!!!! 😍

If you plan it right so they have enough time to dry, it definitely beats base coating with a brush! Lol. It was way more fun than I expected!

I’m gonna try it but I think it uses a lot of paint too. Maybe I’ll use the colors I don’t like so much first. Still fascinated with watercolors.

Apple barrel I can do.
How long did it take these to dry?
They're dry to the touch in an hour or 2 but I leave them at minimum overnight before writing on them!
Yeah you definitely wanted thicker paint my dear. I'm so proud of you you guys did a great job. Email me hun. 🤗
Thicker paint is definitely the plan! 😊
