Fantastic video as usual Pontus - I'd love to see more of Neil Packer's illustrations too! You're going to have to get a referral link from Folio Society as it's clear people in the comments (including me) are about to buy this edition because of you!

i don't recommend this to anyone, it sure may look good online but when you receive it in person it may be a bit of a shock. The entire book and slip case is covered in these little marks which are akin to as if someone has grabbed a pen and drawn little lines everywhere. Not to mention the fact that this book has paper binding too, i was highly disappointed when I received mine.
What do you expect for $150? You're not going to get a leather binding for that price. And surely the little pen marks resemble sparks from the fires of Hell? Even if they don't, that wasn't a dealbreaker for me.
Very disappointing - it's written in modern British laddish vernacular, so we get words like dossing and arse. We also get at least one f word (seem to recall Dante was said to be vulgar in the original text). I was hoping for a somewhat more literary and dignified/classy translation while still being readable and able to be comprehended by the average reader. I am definitely an average reader, Dante is above my comprehension level, and even though this seems dumbed down in places, in the whole I am still struggling to understand it.
Do you want to see a video with ALL of Neil Packer's 103 illustrations? Please tell me and I will make it. 🙂
I have the book, but would still be cool to see in your awesome videos :)
Yes
Yes please!
It is absolutely gorgeous, from the stunning design of the slipcase to the choice of paper. A must-own. Thank you for such a thorough overview of it!
Thanks for watching! :-)
Yes definitely make a video of the illustrations.
My wonderful wife got this magnificent tome for my birthday. It is something special.
What a great gift! 😍
Really glad they came out with this, really wanted this translation in a nice edition.

Folio Society doesn't have an affiliate program, alas!
Please show all illustrations.

I have the very excellent Barnes and Noble leatherbound edition of this. But this version is so incredible, I might just take the plunge!

Made with love from Sweden.
Is glue sometimes used even in Smyth sewn binding? How then to distinguish it from hybrid binding?
How do you find the translation? I’ve looked around and according to people it is not the most accessible
Gorgeous book!
What’s the music you used for this?
Do you have any of Folio Societys Cormac McCarthy books?
I don’t, sorry!

This is the review I've been waiting for! It looks like FS did a great (and speedy) job repackaging this set for us SE cheapskates!
o my GOD! I want this so bad!
Hows is the translation?

Stunning. *want*
It's a little disappointing for me that such a stunning edition doesn't have verse numbers on the side of the pages. Oh well.
