You SIR are the master, great videos and great straight forward info. I am trying to sort out a U011A code on my 2012 Cummins if anyone here knows anything or any video. Already cleaned the Exhaust gas pressure sensor with no luck. Cheers
Hi I need to replace my NOX 2 sensor on my 2015 ram 3500. Have you ever replaced with TRQ part($175) , DORMAN ($231), vs MOPAR($600)? real question is are the cheaper ones good?
I recommend clearing the codes once the repair is completed. Otherwise thats the only thing you need to do once done. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
Can I ask you a question please? I took my truck to the dealership (2012 RAM 2500 Cummins, 6 spd) for a bad o2 Sensor and harness replacement back in March. 3 Months later, I'm getting a P014C-"Powertrain" Code, and P2000- "NOx Trap Efficiency Below Threshold bank 1" code. The truck doesn't feel different, nor have I noticed any loss of gas mileage.. I'm hoping it will be covered under the powertrain warranty... thanks for the videos by the way, they help alot...
As far as the powertrain warranty....it will depend on the mileage and specific item. P014c is a o2 sensor 1/1 code. I am not sure which o2 sensor they replaced previously. This may be a new issue requiring the 1/1 o2 to be replaced. The P2000 requires making sure the software level is correct and also the test for that code states if there are any other codes present (especially o2 codes) then perform the test/repair for those codes firsts. Very good chance its related.
+MotorCity Mechanic The dealership said there was soot build up in the EGR cooler and o2 sensors, due to not driving the truck far enough to get the temperature hot enough to burn it off. I work 5 minutes away, and drive about 10,000 miles/year, not much I can do about that. I bought the rig for a RV we want to purchase in a couple of years. My half ton would have struggled.. I know a performance shop in town that deletes, said it would help.. What do you think?
The deletes can help....just depends on what your welling to spend. There are different things they can do. I know that with some....they can leave everything in place.....hollow out the DPF and run a programmer/tuner and be okay. Just depends. It does help to drive it hard if you dont drive it much. They do like to be worked and not babied especially if only driven a few miles. I know if the cost of repairs got to high on my own....I would delete. I just havent come to that point yet.
Hi I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with a bad Nox sensor. I got from the dealer a code, P 2201, but the repair is so expensive can you help me with something. 1.- I belive I have 2 Nox sensor which one is P2201 code 2.- where I can buy this sensor other than the dealer. Thanks
yes actuator had no exhaust brake. I clear the code and I can run it and it will stay off until restarted, but still no exhaust brake and very low on power. I don't know if I have a harness problem or something. not sure I don't have any other codes
Super helpful video. I just got a u059f code so i'm guessing im going to have to replace the rear nox sensor or delete my truck. $400 for a nox sensor doesn't sound appealing to me hah
My dealer wanted the $400 for the part but also wanted $2,800 for labor! Of course I told them they were full of $%&* and have never used them since. I have since gotten the EGR delete and tune and have never looked back :-)
@@grega1207 I'm having the same problem, they charged me $ 2,100.00 to fix the p20ee and p207f sensors, and I'm thinking of deleting ... it will be much better.
Will replacing the Nox sensor fix the See Dealer or 5mph Max message? My truck went to limp mode, i erased the codes and i was able to drive it again for about 200 miles and I got the see Dealer in 50 miles message again. Can I keep erasing the codes and drive the truck as is until I get the time to fix it or maybe Delete it? I get p225e and p2baf codes
have a 2014 ram throwing u010c code. can't find the issue. turbo kicks in than goes away. Eb not working also when turbo goes out? Any help would greatly appreciate. Thank you
Thats a code that I havent had to check myself ever but there is always a first time. The causes show to be either a wiring issue or turbo issue. The turbo and exhaust brake are both related. The turbo is the exhaust brake on this truck. I would start with a good visual inspection of the wiring leading to the turbo assembly. If nothing then the wiring needs to be tested which requires the appropriate wiring diagram.
Hey, I've got a stock 2012 Ram 3500 6.7 that's throwing a P2196 code, (o2 sensor 1/1 stuck rich), as well as a P2BAC code, (N0x exceeded, deactivation of EGR - active). Truck seems to be driving/idling perfectly fine. I was going to go ahead and replace the o2 sensor, but I want to make sure I'm barking up the right tree. If I clear the code, it doesn't immediately come back, but within 48hrs, (180 miles), or so it resurfaces. Thoughts? ...also, I'm assuming the N0x sensor is different than the o2 sensor? Where is the o2 sensor(s) located if they're different than the N0x? Thanks! -Chris
Morning....when I ran the vehicle info and codes....I found a software update that included the code P2196. The other code P2BAC basically is a cause and effect. The P2196 is the cause.....and then P2BAC can be set so lets deal with the P2196. My first recommendations is the software update and also I recommend taking both o2 sensors out and blowing them clean with compressed air. Then clear the codes and see if it returns before we go further and start replacing things. The O2 sensors on that year are located inline before the DPF. They are before and after that catalyst thats infront of the DPF. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe!
MotorCity Mechanic hey I've got. 2016 ram 3500 pickup crewcab and I have 2 codes. The first one is P2BAF- NOx system driver inducement active. And a P225E NOx sensor 1/2 performance- signal Stuck on high. Would this be the same cause as the sensor in the video or is this totally a different issue? Please help! Also says I can't go any faster than 5mph in less than 98 miles...

hi I got u010c code I just put on a new turbo and it remains. I have checked for power and ground to actuator that both checks out but I seem to be missing my data link. I know something is stopping the link. I have checked all fuses, grounds, battery connections, battery load test, looked over the harness for any bad connections/connector. I can't find anything to get rid of this dtc. any ideas?
+Edward Audette Hello Edward.....what was the reason for the turbo replacement? Was it for the U010C code? Also are you clearing the codes using a scanner.
I have a question I recently about 2 months ago had a p2000 code pop up and they replaced the sensor, now I have a p2271 code come up are they related to one another?
The p2000 can be caused my numerous items.....even an o2 sensor. The code P2271 is related to the downstream o2 sensor. I dont know which sensor they replaced last time as you described. There are 2 o2 sensors along with a few other sensors. The service info for P2271 makes mention of a wiring connector/wire overlay kit. I have done this a few times and never had any luck with it fixing the issue. Each time it ended up being the o2 replacement that took care of it.
MotorCity Mechanic Okay great cause when I took it to my local autozone it said to get the truck reprogrammed but if I can replace the o2 sensor and it work fine much rather do that! thanks for all the info!!
When I typed that code in.....it didnt show a software update that covered that code. There are always updates but that doesnt mean it will help your issue. Personally I would start with the sensor and then go from there.
Morning. The code p2000 mix absorber efficiency below threshold. There are some software updates for this code and a bulletin for adding an O2 heat shield with possible cleaning or replacing of the O2 sensors. These would be starting points if they haven't been done already
+Nathan McGuire A good visual inspection of the exhaust system and all sensors/wiring going to it is a great place to start inorder to see if anything obvious is found such as critter damage or road damage. Next step would be to monitor the exhaust temp sensor readings using a scanner that is capable of reading them to see if one is off a lot more then the rest. Next step would be replacement of the temp sensor. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
I am having issues with pulling up p0156. U140d is a trans code for wheel speed sensor. P2229 is barometric pressure high. P2609 is intake heater. So 3 of the 4 codes are related to completely different issues. When this happens I recommend clearing all codes and making sure nothing is present and then see what returns first over time and then go with that first. You may need a scanner to access all the modules on the vehicle inorder to find out if there are even more codes.

+MotorCity Mechanic I have 8 codes and in the service bulletin 5 codes that are showing in the "do the repair". I found the harness for $114. The instructions seem pretty straight forward, is there any thing to be aware of that are not in the instruction sheet?
They recommend crimping the wires with the brass clamps that are supplied and then solder the wires and then heat up the heat shrink. Just take your time and do one or two wires at a time so that you dont get them mixed up.
Dave will installing the overlay harness in most cases fix O2 sensor codes? I'm getting a P2270, P22B5 and P2BAC codes and my dealer will not proceed any further until I do the upgrade at a cost of $550 cdn (its out of warranty). Thanks in advance. love the channel btw
