Quintuple jump is taking it easy. It's possible to jump many more times in stages with a high ceiling. For example, Tengu Man's boss arena. Basically, the Mega Ball is one of the best weapons/utilities in this game, once you figure out its mechanics.

The plan is to play the North American PlayStation release, possibly peppered with clips from the Saturn version if they aren't disruptive, and then to cover Japanese version differences in the bonus video.
We will be amazingly fortunate if I get all the video footage recorded by 2018, let alone anything with the audio. I appreciate the continued interest, though; that's the kind of thing that makes me want to get back to this faster.

I really am trying to get back to recording, but I've had one opportunity after another to design Mega Man levels for fangames-which I couldn't possibly pass up. Once OH JOES! (A Proto Man Adventure) is released, MM8 will get my full attention.

On the contrary, I ONLY play as Mega Man unless I'm going for the CDs. Bass is severely underpowered when it comes to fighting the bosses, and needing to double-tap to dash throws off the elegant precision that's necessary to maneuver well. Dealing with a few redonkulous stage segments with Mega Man is a small price to pay.

Hah! No, I've been livestreaming since I was working on MM7, so MM8 can't take the credit. It's been a pleasant break from the arduous work that is MM8, and also I've been working on a fangame and multiple levels for other people's fangames over the last 2 years, so there are multiple factors at play here.

What's odd to me is how people like Megaman & Bass but don't like Megaman 8, to me, Megaman 8 is just a better game even if Bass can be fun because that game suffers from a bad case of screen crunch due to being at the end of the SNES' life. If that game came out for the PS1, it could have been a great game.
I don't agree, the sprites for the SNES are way too big compared to Mega Man 8's. When I look at the green gel devil from Megaman & Bass and how simple that character was, I keep thinking of the black devil from Mega Man X5 or even its Mega Man 8 counter part which had much more content to it. I think MM8 is better than MM&B to me.
More power to you! It's not one I'm very fond of, but I promise I won't let it become the whine and cheese party that my playthrough of MM3 was. It'll just be a cheese party.
