I have the very same model in Fireglo. It too was a gift for my 6Oth a few years back. My wife found one made in ‘97 in pristine condition. It had never been played. Whomever owned it had it stored under a bed as part of a collection. I cherish the instrument. It has its own unique vibe and jangly sound. I am very fortunate to have such a thing of beauty.
Yeah, I'm finding that Rickenbacker (at least the 6 strings) sometimes Don't get as much attention as their 12 string and bass siblings, and good deals can be found on practically unplayed versions! Milestone guitars can be really something special! BTW, Nice F-type in your profile pic. I'm a British car nut, although I'm in a much lower price bracket with my MGB..Thanks for watching & subscribing!
I got my 620MD new in '02 and it's been my number one ever since, they're vastly underrated guitars. Hope you're still enjoying yours! And it's okay to call it a RIC, just don't EVER, EVER call it a Rickenbocher!🤣👍👍
I have a 360 6 and love it. Play it thru a AC30. Pure magic. People say 1 trick pony etc. not the case at all. Does that one trick really well but is really versatile.
Yeah they do the jingle jangle really well, but my Tele can do alot of that, so it makes sense that a Rickenbacker can cover dirtier tones, just as well as any single coil guitar! Thanks for watching!
15:50 - Locking tuners? I’ve had my 620 JG for many years now and I still love it. Except for when it comes time to change strings. But it’s nothing to do with the tuners: The Rickenbacker “R” tailpiece has no holes to pass the strings through, it just sort of grips the bobbins. Meaning the strings can pop off very easily until there’s some tension on them. It’s a design flaw, but you get used to it. Cheers.
Nice. I love Rickenbackers, the look, the sound and craft. They Are just great guitars. I just recently bougth a 660-12 Blue metallic from Thunder road Guitars in Portland. Expectations were High, and when i got it it exceeded my expectations. What a beauty of a guitar. It sounds incredible and the craftmanship is outstanding. I have Fender strat, and Tele, and a Rick 330 6 Black jetglo. The 660-12 is just my favorite. Its just a piece of art for me. I know some people dont like Ricks, and thats ok. For me its fantastic. Ricks are just so spesial and the sound is so special. I am so happy and satisfied with my 660-12. yes they Are expensive, but worth it. I was searching the web for a 660-12 for a year and could not find any for sale Except for the 660-12 Petty signature model, but that is too expensive for me Even though inwould not mind having one😊 dont think Ricks Are suitable for a heavier Kind of music, but for anything else it works great. Just find the right settings and sound and it fits just perfect. Thor from Norway.

Yep I made an upgrade to locking tuners, and made a video, I do mention the flaw on the tailpiece- ua-cam.com/video/l2FxPDyvC-M/v-deo.html

@@snoolee7950 yeah I hate throwing that out there, but I figure I’d at least suggest it..thanks for watching!!
Once had a 620 jetglo and I still feel sory for trading it for a Les Pual Goldtop '57 reïssue. Great guitar.
It’s always tough to let a guitar go, and have a sellers remorse situation. However I’m sure your LP is nice! Thanks for watching!
Awesome guitar
Thanks, I do have some more Rickenbacker 620 content coming soon! Thanks for watching!
I have a Mastery bridge in my 360/6. It's nice but it is not the game changer like they are for Jazzmaster and Jaguars.
Thanks for the info on the mastery bridge, that helps a lot! Thanks for watching!
Don’t wear shorts in a video
I hear ya, but this summer was hella hot up here in New England! Thanks for watching
@@6stringworld Well played. It's funny, the things that give sensitive types "the ik". Who needs em. Good info in the vid.
