  • After being inspired by ‪@MarkOutdoors_‬ latest vlog on the Scottish English border, we decided to follow in his footsteps.
Joined by my dad ‪@overthehillwildcamper‬ and my friend Ciaran, we parked at Carter Bar and set off on the short hike to Carter Pike where we enjoyed a nice summer wild camp.
    I hope you enjoy 👍

A great camp. Lovely spot up there and not a bad view either is it. Sometimes it’s nice and especially for you to just take what’s needed and it’s easier and it gives you more time to chat with the lads etc. great footage and 3 cracking summer light weight set ups. I couldn’t pick one but I would use them all as they are all equally great. Atb Mark.

Nice one mark. That’s very kind. Yeah, a cracking view from Up there. No spectacular inversion like you had, but grateful for a dry morning. All the best mate. 👍

I can see Carter Pike from my sofa. Subbed because I am curious about Trangia Masterclass. I only take mine occasionally. Usually when I have a short walk to camp.

@@davidjackson8829 hi David. Thanks for the sub. Yeah, I can understand why you only take the Trangia on a short hike. It’s a bit of a lump to lug around isn’t it. All the best 🙏

It’s a cracking spot with good views Steve, camped up there in January, not a load of flat spots like, your set up looks 👌, super light, I agree with you about the trailstar, definitely makes a better winter shelter, like you said it’s the sleep system that keeps you warm, the shelter only stops the wind, atb Mick 👍

I imagine us northerners are constantly struggling to find any bottles with a large enough aperture; it must be very confusing for Londoners to watch this kind of practical documentary.

    • @belowaveragewildcamper

I’m forever searching for a wide enough aperture Phil. The 2 pint milk bottle is the optimum size I find. 🤣

I would feel lost without my trangia... I only cook real food too... Though iam considering getting some army ration pack meals for emergency.. at least they're not posh pot noodles , that cost the price of a night out.... Take care out there.

Nice vid as always BAWC , glad you said that about the Trail Star because its one i have considered for a few years now but a month ago i ended up settling for the Six Moons Design Luna Solo because even though like you i love the Xmid i am forever trying to lighten my pack weight without compromising comfort and although i have only used the SMLS twice and its rained quite heavily and been fairly strong winds, so far i am a big fan of it and i can see myself using this right up to the winter months. Its very spacious and provides that all important midge protection and stands up very well to the wind and when its wet it sheds a surprising amount of water unlike a lot of Sil Nylon tents due to the fabric treatments ATB
