Winter Wild Camp at Round Hill | North York Moors
Keen to take advantage of the recent snow, me and my Dad @overthehillwildcamper headed for the North Yorkshire moors.
After parking in the village of Chop Gate we climbed up to Round Hill where we pitched for the night.

This year's edition of the Original Mountain Marathon took place in the beautiful Glen Artney in the southern highlands of Scotland. Hiya mate , i have a duomid and i love it, few questions, how did u set up your a frame? What mat was you using for your alcohol stove and that jacket tou had on isi the torrid and if so how warm are they for that kind of temperature, cheers nick
@@nicholasromans5816 hi Nick. Thanks for commenting. Yeah, the Duomid is the only shelter I need. I have a Trailstar which I love but nothing beats the duomid. I use the A-Frame connectors from Liteway and it fits the tips on my Black Diamond tips perfectly. liteway.equipment/a-frame-connector I just bought a soldering iron mat I bought online for under my stove. The Torrid jacket is my go to insulated jacket all year round. Under it I wear a thermal base layer and a Senchi Designs hoodie. Never been cold with that combo. Hope that helps mate. @belowaveragewildcamper cheers for watching my vids, my heart is not in it filming nomore, I've got a the a frame from mountain laurel design but had the carbon connectors but don't fit my pole I really have squeeze them on but they do hold, I use the xboil and that mat b perfect for my set up, been looking at them jackets , which type is it , cheers nick 👍

@@paulhicky hi Paul, it’s a Bellroy sling, I think 9 litre. Bought it 2nd hand on eBay. It’s the first time I’ve took it camping as I usually use a ‘Fanny pack’ or bum bag to us brits. I use the sling every day as I try to carry my 35mm film photography camera with me everywhere. My film camera is not weather sealed and it won’t fit in my bum bag so I brought it in the sling. To be honest it worked out great and I’d consider bringing my sling instead of my bum bag even if I didn’t have my film camera. All the best mate 🙏

Nice trip! You should turn your chef skills towards some small meal enhancements with those freeze-dried meals. A squeeze of lime, some crushed peanuts, a dash of hot sauce, a pinch of rosemarry, a wee bit of chutney, a few table spoons of cream... that sort of thing.😊 I'd be very interested in seeing what you come up with.

Robinson is one of my favourite northern fells. A few years back I did the Coledale and Newlands round back to back in 12 hours to raise money for Keswick MRT (they _had_ literally saved my life). Robinson was the first ascent of the Newlands side and it was real slog in terrible weather. As we set off from the summit, though, the clouds lifted and rain stopped and we just had our spirits lifted by the magnificent view.
