Red engine paint is good fer something like 5hp, small stickers are another 5hp, and angry eyes on your headlights are something like 50hp and 6" of articulation! Another nice job my friend!
I have a '54 CJ3B that I need to rebuild the engine for it has a pretty nasty score in cylinder number 3. I've owned it a year and a half now and I'm still surprised for a Michigan rig it doesn't have all that much rust.
I love when an engine is clean and freshly painted. This isn’t a engine rebuild, just fresh seals and gaskets. What do you think should I have done a rebuild?
I would only have done an engine rebuild if it was a serious oil burner or had unbearably low engine compression. On my F-head (1955 CJ-3B also), I did everything ... ground all the bearing surfaces, new pistons, new rings and bored and sleeved the cylinders. Ran like a charm afterwards.
Awesome guys grt job i bought mahindra DI turbo engine 2.5 lt but after seeing you restoring the Hurricane engine i m confused now whether swap my hurricane engine to Di engine Or not?
Looks like a brand new engine. When I get my '64 I'm debating weather to leave the original in or put in a Buick 225 V6 that came out of a '71 Jeepster. I like how you keep your shop floor so clean, I'm jealous. How big is your shop if you don' mind me asking? Thanks for the video.
michael wier shop is 21x42 on the inside. We worked hard to get the shop looking good so I’m working hard to keep it that way. Is the V6 an odd fire, those are cool engines and they have a lot of snort!
@@fastdadgarage-northsouthch4418 Speaking of the Buick 225 c.i. V6, yes, it was an 'odd-fire' engine as it was technically a V8 with one pair of cylinders removed. I had one in my 1966 CJ-6 as the stock engine. Yes, it had a lot of 'snort' ... LOL. That engine was also called the Dauntless V6 ( www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/engines/about/buick/buick-90-v6/ ).

Very cool, the rust surprises me. But it must’ve been taken care of.
Awesome Project. I recently bought a 56 CJ3b to restore/build. Good info here Thanks "FAST DAD"
Someone mixed different coolants together and it started to gel..
Good call

Do you need the extra Horse power? The L134 isn’t a power house but in a stock Jeep it works nicely. Love to see your Jeep either way
Well as per as I know the DI engine produces 63hp@3200 rpm whereas I checked on net that hurricane engine produces 72 is it true?
Biswanath Brahma - That is what I’m reading. The DI turbo seems low on HP., I’m not familiar with it

How many miles are on that little 4?
Ben Chamberlain I’ll check the odometer, but the cable was disconnected...who knows how long
It’s full of margarine 🧈
Ben Chamberlain -it should work as a coolant, grandma always said put butter on a burn.
