I was laying in bed getting ready to go to sleep. Now I'm up making tea so I can give this a try. I just can't let it go till the morning! 🤣Great tutorial.
out of all the youtube tutorials I've watched trying to find how to use resin on clay earrings, this one by far is the best detailed! thank you so much
You say 275* for 25 minutes. How thick are the shapes? My premo says 30 min for every 1/4" so I would think for 1/8" that I half the time? Is that wrong?
These are wonderful! The "scrap" would make great beads! Thanks a lot for sharing this tutorial with us! Again, this lends itself to many colours so you could make them match whatever you want to!❤️🤍❤️🤍
Can you use triple thick instead of resin? I want to wrap a pen with this clay mixture so UV resin wouldn’t work (without a cup turner and I don’t want to invest in that for one project 😅)
Hi! Thank you so much for the tutorial. My slab came out really sticky and couldn't get it through the pasta machine. Do you know why would that might be? Also do you let the acrylics to get fried before mixing? Thank you💜
I’m sorry your clay was too sticky! So a few things you can do to help with that in the future. I like to allow my acrylic and liquid clay to partially dry. Another thing I will do if I’m working with a particularly sticky slab, is throw it in the freezer for about 10 mins. This helps to somewhat harden it, so it’s not quite as sticky. It could also be the type of clay you’re using. Cernit translucent is a lot softer than Sculpey Premo or soufflé. I stay away from Sculpey lll because it’s not easy to work with. I hope this helps! 🫶🏻
Hi, thanks for this tutorial, most of the content creators don't show the translucent liquid clay portion, but I think it is important and you talked about it, will it help the pieces to not crumble after baking? And is it very important in this process? I'm a beginner and I'm collecting all the infos that I can before starting this as I'm creating a list of products to buy.
Hi! It does help hold the pieces together before and during baking. Think of it as a sort of adhesive. You can do this without it, but your pieces may be crumbly, when you cut into it. I hope this helps! ❤️
Thanks for this tutorial I plan on trying to make these for Christmas gifts. Can you please tell me about the orange mat you are using and where to get it. Thank you!
This isn’t the exact one I have, but it’s very similar. www.amazon.com/LKE-Polish-Timers-Professional-Accessories/dp/B07G31SQZ7/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=39HSQNU65CXBC&dchild=1&keywords=uv+light+for+nails&qid=1630856136&sprefix=uv+light&sr=8-3
hello, so 10 minutes is enough for the resin? I think my machine isn't strong enough because my resin doesn't harden all the way most times. thank you. 😊
Hello, your works are very beautiful 😍 When we want to do that effect, we have to use polymer clay glue or adhesive? I cant understand what did you use in video. My english is not well so I am sory 😕😃🌸🌸🌸❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do you know how long to bake your clay? I have not worked with clay since high school. So about 30 years. I've just started crafting again and just happened on your channel and was excited because I hadn't thought of working with clay.
Well thank you for watching! I bake mine at 275 Fahrenheit for 25-30 mins. That’s exciting you’ve decided to work with clay again! It’s so therapeutic. ❤️
Do you mind sharing how thick was was the sheet before cutting it into shapes? What setting did you use in pasta machine. And yes, thank you for the tutorial.
I followed this tutorial and sadly the pieces all crumbled apart, like all of the little bits of clay never fused. I conditioned and pressed the clay together as best as I could. Any advice? Total newbie over here!!
I’m so sorry it crumbled on you…. To help with crumbly clay, you can use a clay softener, or translucent liquid clay. I’ve used both of these methods, and they work great. Just don’t use too much of the liquid.
Got all the way to tipping out the painted clay on my parchment and then you said I needed liquid clay… wish you had said that at the beginning 😭😭😭 wasted a lot of clay now
wow, you made it look so easy! I watched other tutorial on making fake quartz today, but the process was so long and too complicated for me as a beginner. Super glad I came across this one. I have couple of questions though - what do you use for drilling holes? Also, if I use an alcohol ink instead of acrylic paint, would it work as well?
Hi! I am so happy that the video was helpful and easy to follow for you. ❤️ To answer you questions, I use a Dremel type tool, which is essentially a small handheld drill. And as far as the alcohol inks, YES!! I’ve used them many times for this exact process and they always come out beautiful.

It has been years since I played with clay. I love this technique because I’m such a rock hound. Hugs❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much! 😘❤️❤️

Absolutely! There are so many options! Thank you for watching! ☺️❤️
Thanks so much dear! I really enjoyed watching that❤ and may I know what colours did you use for those bright ones in the beginning of the video?
Thank you for the video! Dont you have to let it dry ? 😮
I let the paint dry slightly, but not fully.
Very pretty. I do think it’s Quartz though.
Can you use triple thick instead of resin? I want to wrap a pen with this clay mixture so UV resin wouldn’t work (without a cup turner and I don’t want to invest in that for one project 😅)
This might be a stupid question. Do you add the earring holes before or after the baking and resin?
Fake stone, no power, no memory, toy for kid 6 years wish low cost....
I am a trainee pen maker and i want to create this design for a pen. Instead of acrylic paint, can i use alcohol ink?
Absolutely!! Alcohol inks are a great option, and I actually use them often. ☺️
@@greatestoftheseco7473 Cool! 😊

Hello! I was wondering, do you resin the back side of the clay as well?
The only time I use resin on the back, is to secure earrings posts. I don’t cover the entire back, like I do the front.
Love your videos and your techniques! It’s be helpful if you shared links to the materials :)
Thank you! I will be sure to add links for the products. ❤️
Que liquido é esse que vc coloca na massa?
I used acrylic paint, and liquid translucent clay.

Thank you for sharing your tutorial. Love these earrings. Just started polymer clay. You are an inspiration to us crafters!
This is the sweetest compliment! Thank you! Good luck on your polymer clay journey. ❤️❤️
Excellent video. I am new to the polymer clay jewelry world and it was spot on. ty
So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching ❤️
Thanks for this tutorial I plan on trying to make these for Christmas gifts. Can you please tell me about the orange mat you are using and where to get it. Thank you!
Thank you for watching! The orange mat is actually just a silicone pot holder. You can find them anywhere, and they’re perfect for working with resin.
So you don't have to bake the clay? I'm sorry if that's a silly question, but I always thought that polymer clay had to be baked.
That’s not a silly question at all! I’m sorry if it was confusing in the video. I bake all my pieces at 275 for 25-35 minutes. ❤️
Did you add the earring backs for the studs the tiem you baked them or do you cook/resin them and then bake the back of the earrings on?
Adding the backs is always the last step for me. I bake them, resin the tops, then add the backs and resin them onto the earrings for extra security.
Do you wash the bag everyhtme? Its just a waste of plastic. Can we use our hands?
I do not, but you are definitely free to do so. I have also used my hands as well. Either method works just fine.
This is so fun! Do you think that clear coat epoxy would work if I don't have all the resin stuff?
Yes! I have seen makers use clear coat epoxy! Just be sure to research which ones are compatible with polymer.
Thank you for sharing! Can you share the link for the uv light from Amazon?

Do you know where I can find the dangle earring cutter? Been looking EVERYWHERE 😩
I actually bought these from a small business, called Contour Cutters. You can find them on instagram. ☺️

Thank you so much! ❤️

Por favor gave um video em portugues
Do you drill the holes after it’s dry? Could you show that process?
Yes, I drill them once the clay is baked and cured fully. I can definitely do a video showing that process! ❤️
Hello. I love your work! Do you think alcohol inks would work with this technique? I have the ink, but not the acrylic paint.
Yes! Alcohol inks are gorgeous with this technique.
Beautiful! What number on the pasta machine? I’m trying NOT to get a stretched swirly look. TIA
Thank you! I would suggest starting at 3 or 4, and working your way down until you get the look and thickness you want. ❤️

where did you get your uv lamp from and what brand
I actually found this one on Amazon.
Oh I love these thanks for sharing!!!💕🧜♀️
Thank you!! And thank you for watching! ❤️❤️
So fun! I love working with polymer clay!!!
Me too! It’s very therapeutic ❤️
Do you need to let it dry overnight before cutting
Oh no…. I just give it about 5 mins or so.
Hi, can I make it without liquid sculpey?
The liquid Sculpey acts as a sort of adhesive for the clay. You can do it without, but your clay may crumble and not stick together well.
@@greatestoftheseco7473 Thank you! ❤
Thanks for sharing 🤗
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Not “quarts” (like milk), but “quartz”, the mineral. Not putting down your artistry. 😌
Haha! I never noticed the typo 😅
I love this tutorial
Thank you so much!
Got all the way to tipping out the painted clay on my parchment and then you said I needed liquid clay… wish you had said that at the beginning 😭😭😭 wasted a lot of clay now
I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. I’ve definitely done this technique without the liquid clay as well.
ahhhh soooo pretty 😍
Thank you!! ❤️
Very pretty!
Thank you!
I totally love these earings. What do you use to protect the tabe? Or use so the clay dont stick to the tabel?
Thank you!! I’m actually using piece of tile to work on. I’ve never had an issue with it sticking to it.
Do you resin the back too?
Very nice
Thank you! 🥰
Very nice!!
Thank you!
Muito Lindo 😍😍
Obrigado! ❤️
Should I resin the backs of my earrings?
You absolutely can! I sometimes resin my posts for extra security.
I may start doing that. I can’t seem to get the back side of my earrings to look pretty.
Ой,какая красота! Супер!
Hi. Great tutorial. Can we do it with color clay too?
Thank you! Do you mean colored clay in place of the translucent? You definitely can, it will just give the finished earrings more of a howlite look.
@@greatestoftheseco7473 Thank you! I am approaching polimer clay therefore I am a beginner with lots of questions! 😊
