May i ask what is concidered an invalid argument? I just wrote an essay going over all your points and not disagreeing yet it was quite technical. Where you aware you have a filter on thats blocking genuine comments?
Thanks for the updated video, your first one on the bonts helped towards me buying mine. Totally agree with the bearings and the insole, so bad which is such a shame for an expensive package. I was a total beginner and had street flows which I adore. I’ve only upgraded since doing more parks. Please do a review about the discotrux, I’m sure curious as heard mixed reviews! 😃
Yaaaay I love your videos! I have some fp insoles as well (a different model though), I didn't think something like that would be such a drastic improvement but it was! Would definitely like to hear your thoughts on the discotrux, I don't think there are too many videos out there
Great review, and I agree with several of your points-the Velcro and insoles in particular. Same experiences with those. Replacing the ínsole makes a huge difference. I’m a newby park skater; would love to hear your review of the Discotrux as I’m still using the stock setup on one pair I own. I have a 2nd pair mounted on SureGrip Avanti plate which I (maybe?) like even better. I have the Street Flow Wheels which are a tad softer and have been perfect for me so far; they already feel so much harder than what I was used to using as a street/trail skater over the past year and a half.
Part of me is glad the Velcro issue wasn’t just me, but it also makes me a bit sad that it’s happened to others. Hope to make the Discotrux video soon. ☺️
Thank you, this was a great review! I would love to see the review of the wifas! And especially how they compare to the bonts for park skating! I am debating between the two, so I am curious what you think!
Lovely update to your original review :) Any chance of adding the insole you talked about to the build list? Any video that you want to make would be appreciated, you bring a levelheaded point of view to the multitude of videoes about parts and tricks that are on youtube :)
I love mine and your first review helped me decide on these skates. The only issue I have with mine is the kingpin catches on stalls and drop ins a bit. This is a bit strange when it didn’t happen at all with my Chaya
Yes, the kingpin issue is one of the reasons why I’ve changed my set up. I’m not brave enough to grind the kingpins down 😂 but I found that the kingpin only started to cause me issues when I was doing ledge grinds and 50-50 grinds, but I didn’t notice it too much when dropping in although I could see how it could.
@@geekgirlskates9310 yeah I think I noticed it as it wasn’t an issue on my Chaya. Because they are the same king pin angle I didn’t think it would cause any issues.
Great review, Bont has the skate straps in the accessories area and you could get your color it looks like. Also where did you get you disco trux I can’t find them anywhere.
No, I didn’t shorted my kingpin for 50/50s they touched the coping on some ramps, just depends how much the coping protrudes from the deck. I bought the Discotrux a while ago and they seem to be sold out everywhere.
A great review, thanks for sharing! I’d love your opinion. I’m returning to skating after 20 years and do mainly street skating, cruising, tail skating with a little rink time. I’ve only ever skated in a boot with a heal. I know the Bont Parkstar has a 23mm heal. Would you recommend it for my situation?
Thank you! ☺️ personally I would prefer a leather boot for trail skating as it will hold up better, however I’ll be honest that I don’t due a huge amount of any of the types skating activities you’ve mentioned. There’s no reason why the Bont Parkstar wouldn’t work for any of these situations, so I think it’s just down to what you want to wear and what you find comfortable ☺️
Hi! Thank you for the in depth review. I’m a baby skater and I’ve signed up for a roller derby 8 week course. I’m looking at getting a pair of skates that could be pretty universal as I don’t know if I just want to stick to roller derby but I don’t have the budget for multiple skates. Would the Bont ParkStars be good for an initial skate that I could use in Roller Derby and park skating?
I jave been looking forward to buying these skates but they seem to be out of stock everywhere (at least for my size 10). Anyone has a tip on where to get these in the EU? PS: Thanks for the update on your thoughts, I think it's great to do this since since prolonged use is what is going to bring up all the issues that are not aparent initially
Yes! Thank you! It’s one thing to review them fresh out of the box, but completely different once they’ve really worn in and you’ve had a chance to see how they hold up. Only thing I could suggest about out of stock skates is to either get in touch with your local skate shop or enter your email for updates from the EU distributor.
Would these be wasted on me if I don't intend to do any aggressive skating? I'm having a hard time finding a high quality (with at least an adjustable toe stop) flat boot. Maybe I should try the Prostar instead of the Parkstar.
Not necessarily, if it’s a comfortable skate for you and you like them, then I wouldn’t say they were wasted on you. The quality is pretty good for the price in my opinion and if you’re not going to trash them like I did, they’ll last you a long time!
Not sure what you mean. "ABEC" is a standard of quality, not a brand. All bearings have an ABEC rating, including Reds. For example, Bones Precision Reds bearings are ABEC 7
@@teddy8459 oh idk then, just all the skates come with these bearings listed as abec 7 and I’ve had them jamming up like first day so I always pop them out and put in reds when they come stock lol. I’m just ignorant of bearings. On my outdoor skates I popped the caps off and ride them dry. 😬
I think it’s awful that a pair of skates that is soooooo expensive have such poor quality and get damaged like that after just a year and a half. I’ve got skates that cost 1/10 of the price of the bonts, have had them for over a year, and are still in perfect shape minus a few scratches from falling. I was thinking of buying a pair of these, but now I won’t, wont waste my money on them
Overall I don’t think the quality of the Bont Parkstar is bad at all, especially considering how much I was skating in them for the first year and a half. I was really rough on them and fall regularly when learning new tricks. And falling on concrete is going to tear them up faster than than falling on wood or metal ramps, so I feel they’ve held up really well considering!
Let me know in the comments what you think of my review ☺️ do you agree? Disagree? What’s your experience been with the Parkstar?

Just ordered mine. Can't wait to try them out!!
Thank you so much for the review :)
You’re welcome!

Opps! Sorry yes I missed the insoles from the build list. Have added them in ☺️ thank you so much for the kind words 😊
Cool vid. I have seen bont replacement ankle straps but only customisable ones at a higher cost.
Yes, but they’re not the suede ankle straps. They only come in black and white, so would ruin the aesthetic!
There were color option but it seems like the roller skate section of the bont website is no longer accessible, maybe just in my country

Also did you have to cut your kingpin or shorten it for 50/50s?
Bont only has the microfibre ankle straps, not the suede ones that come with the Parkstar. At least, that’s all I can see in the EU Bont store.
No, I didn’t shorted my kingpin for 50/50s they touched the coping on some ramps, just depends how much the coping protrudes from the deck. I bought the Discotrux a while ago and they seem to be sold out everywhere.

Are those disco blocks? And do you like them? Thank you!!
Ive only had bad experiences with abec bearings. Reds never let me down even when you can hear the sand and dirt grinding around inside.

@@PinkPulpito Oh yes I hear that. Stock bearings are always so so bad. Idk why the companies don't just add an optional fee for better bearings
