Jon Lucas I actually got rid my 24-70mm because I didn’t use it; 35mm in APS-C mode is 52mm but 24mm in crop mode is 36mm. I find the 16-35mm to be the most versatile lens really
Team Sigma ART lenses 💯💯💯💯 I just love the 105mm 1.4 the most I got it from Dubai when I was there as it’s much cheaper because there’s no extra tax 🤓 - if only sigma introduce internal stabilization they would smash it even more
The Sigma 24 1.4 is my go to and almost never leaves my camera. I have the Canon version, but the Sony looks different- seems like it’s something with the mount 🤷🏻♂️
great video/ i liked the comparison. i am stuck on what to get for my new zv-e1 and pairing it with a single perfect vlog lense and this video defiantly helped.
I just checked and I think the Sigma 24-70mm does not have a rear filter holder. At least mine doesn't. I think the 14-24 can't have a front filter, that's why they fitted the rear filter holder.
I love sigma art glass! Had a ton of it when I shot with canon. However when I switched to sony I definitely got a lot more money back from my native canon glass, of course because it was more expensive but considering the actual cost to own the native glass definitely sold better. That being said sigma glass is amazing! Had a few issues with focusing but with sony cameras that's a problem from the past. Currently I own all Sony except for the sigma 14-24mm which made sense to me since I don't do a whole lot of wide work so no need for the much more expensive gmaster. I think they're both great, but I do belive the sony will end up costing less in the long run (cost to own) Imo tho lol
Your b-roll looks so lovely and professional! So crisp and sharp. Could you please make a video about how you Get that look? Thank you for a Great comparison 🙂
Love my sigma art primes, bought the 24-70 and major center focus issues as well as focus issues in general. Exchanged twice all three had focus issues and wound up buying the Sony GM. No focus issues. The sigma is definitely a very nice lens when it properly focuses and eye autofocus on the Sigma was much slower as well as tracking on the Sigma, much slower. For a wedding or any type of action I’d definitely recommend the Sony over Sigma but for portraits, the Sigma is an amazing lens at half the price. Hopefully Sigma corrects this, I love my Sigma art primes.
I own both the Sigma lenses, very happy with them. I shoot mostly landscape images, and the 24-70 is sharper then the Gmaster i also own, the difference is big. Sigma 14-24mm art is a gem. Knowing DSLR one weights 1.12kg this this one only 0.795kg, you realize how small it is for what it does. I agree with your conclusions, price is epic good on Sigma's, the feel on them as wel (they are joy to use - something i think people underestimate about lenses), and chromatic aberration is better controlled on Sigma.
Tamron trinity FTW for less than 3k! Love my sigma 85 1.4....Sony 24 1.4 is worth the money though Would rather have the Sony 35 1.8 as well. But the sigma zooms I would rather have. But wide primes I would take Sony cause they are small. But telephoto the value is in sigma as size doesn’t really matter for portraits.
The perfect video for me rn, I just went from my A6300 to a A7Riv and have been looking at what lenses to get! Personally I think I’ll get the 16-35mm and the sigma 24-70mm, this video helped a lot with that decision so thank you very much!
I have the Sony 16-35GM for my a7R3 and the Sigma 14-24ART for my Leica SL2. Aside from the obvious focal length difference, I can't really see a difference. Going forwards, unless there is a very specific feature, I'll probably stick with Sigma.
How is the Sigma 14-24 For the SL2? I have been thinking of getting the SL 16-35 but if i can get similar results with the 14-24 and also score some f2.8 with it, i might just go for the sigma.
@@SidneyDiongzon no man i was going to get the twenty mil g forty mil zies batis, eightyfive zies batis i thought i could terminate forty mil and get a zoom for video work i want know which would be great in this three lens combo i would like to know which one of these have a close focusing capablity {zooms in these video}
thanks for helping me deciding... now i got 20mm/1,8 G sony.. 24-70/2.8 sigma.. 35mm/1.4 sigma.. 17-28mm/2.8 tamron.. FE90 macro... 28-200/2.8-5.6 tamron for fun... and 85mm/1.8 sony...
Man Sid this was great info. I don't shoot Sony but it is great to see that there are more budget friendly choices and you really don't have to sacrifice quality. Very Nice... Thanks Sid.
unless you're doing video. It has by far the worst manual focus ring of any lens I've ever used. Also considering the poor build quality i'd say its just barely worth its price tag.
Love this video and your honest opinion of both lenses. I am going with Sigma because of cost and the difference between the lenses isn't significant enough to pay the high cost for a Sony lens. I just bought the Sony 7siii, it took about 6 months to get because it is in such high demand.
Ive had the sigma and the tamron, iuno sidney, the sigma was awesome but i noticed during a wedding video shoot that the autofocus was not as catchy as I wanted it too. It hunted for a bit, not much but just a bit where it was annoying. And i feel like the colors with the sigma are different than the sony gm? And the fact that there was dust specs in the front lens sucked too. I think the sony gm wins here, cause of the no dust issue, fast autofocus and gm colors
Hey Sidney, what about the bulb front element on the 14-24? Doesn't that make it hard to use a variable ND for video? Or do you think it's fine to use the rear element ND filter and adjust exposure with aperture and ISO? Wondering what you think as this is the only thing holding me back from selling my Tamron 17-28 and getting the Sigma 14-24. Thanks, Taylor
I am thinking of replacing my Sony/Zeiss 16-35mm f/4 with the Sigma Art 14-24mm f/2.8. Combined with my 24-105 f/4G and my 100-400GM, that would give me uninterrupted coverage from 14-400mm in just three lenses.
Sidney Diongzon thanks for the response. I guess my bigger question is what lens would you reccomend for an apsc camera to vlog with that also has some kind of zoom but not a horrible f stop. I have a 10-18 and that obviously doesn’t zoom far enough. I feel like 16mm is a good vlogging distance but I’d love to have some zoom ability without changing lenses on the run
Thank u sir! I’m a Sony a7iii user and I was looking for a good midrange, so I was looking between the Sony and sigma, well you helped me a lot! Sigma it will be !💯 great content!💯
