Bow Down - What a lousy thing to say. Rape is everywhere at every income level and country. Not a man alive doesn’t know a woman who has been raped, wether it is a family member, friend, acquaintance or the last waitress you had. We just kept quiet about it for thousands of years. Finally, Brave people like Simon are speaking up and giving courage to others following this channel. I have a son who was raped twice while on the streets. Rape is about power, not sex. If you think it could NEVER happen to you, go to Skid row and see how long it takes. After watching so many of these stories one of the common threads is the lifesaving power of kids growing up with their daddy’s around. It’s very rare to hear about these people to end up here with an intact loving family! We all need to fight to be the examples of what’s right to our kids because generations hang in the balance!
Mum travelled halfway across the world to better her kids, the dude didnt really seem cut out for "gang life" and yet all of this seems to stem from wanting to "be popular and impress people". Personally speaking - the fact that LD was candid about his gang lifestyle ,made me realize that we ALL are not perfect...we have the luxury to be able to sit back and listen to his/others life stories and more often than not, we will generally, pass judgement, somehow forgetting the error (past and present) of our own ways. Simon " LD" you are fortunate that God has preserved your life despite your past decisions also it is okay for a man to cry...I truly wish you success with your sobriety .Thank you,Simon for sharing your story
For the beginning, I gotta say that what the guy (or guys, IDK, really!) of this channel, "Soft White Underbelly", does, is truly great! It's noble, it's honest, there's no faking (I don't count some of the lies that the "guests" are saying), it's socially important (& in many other aspects), it gives some hope to these people who are living on the very edge of the society's blade, the knowledge, that there are people out there, even on the other side of the world, that would love to sit down and listen to what you have to say, and so on, and so forth.... So, it's no bullshit, or "balls-licking", ass-kissing, or however one might call it, when I say the abovementioned stuff, 'cause I REALLY MEAN IT! So, I truly hope that people won't take it the wrong way this thing I'm gonna say, 'cause I'm not criticizing anyone, nor trying to be a smart ass, or anything alike! Just wanna point one thing, which I've noticed watching these clips (as I'm subscribed & constantly watch these videos, for several months now. 5. 6 for sure!), which is the following: I think that the interviewer (and the main guy on/in this channel?!?!?) doesn't really have a real, personal experience with drugs. Therefore, as a result of it, sometimes, when his guests are talking about their addiction experiences, he fails to ask them some truly important question regarding that exact experience they're talking about at the moment, which would give the interview, either a truly strong/er note, or it would make a spin off that would show off something quite different. Either way, it'd brinig good, intriguing & interesting stuff for us, all the viewers/followers of the "Soft White Underbelly" channel! Other than that, me, personally, I couldn't, CAN'T find, any "soft spot" on any of the 50+ clips that I've watched and re-watched so far. I love it, as someone who's never been to Los Angeles, but throughout the music, the Hip Hop from the West Coast (ever since Ice-T, and everything good that followed, like NWA, 2Pac - regardless if he's originally not WC - Paris, Cypress Hill, etc...) that I used to listen as a teen (along with Hip Hop in general, 'cause in actuality, I love East Coast hip hop - x10000 than W.Coast) - and still do occasionally - which taught me about the LA's side which cannot be seen in the tourists' flyers, the official portraits of the city, either for TV, or whatever else, but only in music and films, made by certain artists. So now, watching this channel, that goes AS REAL AS IT GETS, to show the "other side" of LA, with real people, real stories (even if part of them are invented, mixed with the delusions... it doesn't matter - that's all part of that reality!)... and it's all done the right way! It looks right, sounds right, feels right.... Thus, I hope you really understand what was the point behind my little critic, or actually (and FAR MORE CORRECTLY) observational note, because I really love this channel & the ppl who're working on it! Peace to everyone & greetings from Macedonia!
To escape from the wars of Ethiopia, Sudan refugee camp for 2yrs to getting blamed for stupid kid stuff and instead of helping him as a young man to find an outlet for himself they judged and looked down on him . So sad.

No one should blame America, we have free will here. Its up to each of us to choose which road we want to follow.
To escape from the wars of Ethiopia, Sudan refugee camp for 2yrs to getting blamed for stupid kid stuff and instead of helping him as a young man to find an outlet for himself they judged and looked down on him . So sad.

Fascinating life man. I hope you get sober and get what you want out of the second half of your life bro.
I’m not African but from the thumbnail I could instantly tell this man was Ethiopian or Eritrean. I know there is a long community in DMV area.
And LA particularly the crenshaw district/ West LA area
I started watching these vids at 379k subs it’s up to 417k.....I wonder if his mom would’ve moved to a different part of the US would his life be different?
100% environment is everything.
God bless you LD, I hope you get yourself together and find Jesus Christ, He loves you SO MUCH!

Sure that 2 years in a refugee camp caused some damage. Skid Row is a refugee camp as well
They even have the missionaries, extortion rackets , and street gangs
❤ healing is a process. But try to celebrate all milestones and progress. You can do it!
How exactly do you celebrate being raped and getting HIV?
Love this guy 💕 super authentic
Suddenly my life isn't so bad
Damn he’s high as a cable bill
markk dolla 😂
well everyone can see that
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hello how can we get in touch with him please ?
Did he say he was dead for two days and came back to life ?
Probably just meant near death. Dude hasn't slept in a few days.
It sounded to me that he said he was close to death when his mother was immigrating and she was carrying him and he smelled bad.
He said dead for 2 days and miraculously came back to life. Lost me then..
He said his Mom told him that. You was already lost apparantly. Thats why you didn't pay attention He is speaking very clearly. Poor thing he probably felt like dead weight she was carrying him for miles. He still living like dead weight too. Probably should've made him walk.
Angie G rude
Hes a miracle baby right..then he has a greater purpose..in a gang didnt get shot or tattoos..still alive.think of a better way of life for yourself.there must be something you need to do...counseling would be a good start.

All I ever saw of Ethiopians were businessmen meeting together in suits at Starbucks....his mom insisted on holding on to a "stink dead" baby....and now this😭😭😭....makes me have a WHOLE lot of questions about life...I pray his life gets better
Don’t fo get about those great Ethiopian restaurants. That’s the only thing I miss about living in a city with big immigrant populations.like Boston and New York
so sad! I'm Eritrean in LA too would love to reach out to him if anyone knows where I can find him
You might be able to find him in Skid Row but I wouldn’t recommend going there.
He is just a little guy, feisty. Wonder if he got that Dodge Neon he always wanted
