The last stability ball video I did performed horribly. It has a lot to do with the UA-cam algorithm (that I have no control over). I have one big ball video that does well, so it's the only one that shows up when people search for a stability ball workout. There just doesn't seem to be much interest. :(

I just got a mini ball because of recently worsened lower back pain and I found today that the mini ball really helped to exacerbate that pain during the ab exercises. Hi Lauren. I love using the mini ball during workouts, but have only used one during barre workouts! Using it during this short abs & glute workout was very clever. Yes, plz incorporate the ball into other workouts as you say you might.I did this abs & glute workout after an active step with ankle weights workout so needed something a little slower to finish off my workout. It was just perfect to not overload me! Thank you!

Thanks for trying it Rene! I forgot to mention in the video to let some air out of the ball. It's really helpful if it is not fully inflated. One of these days I need to do a blooper video ( I've had my ball go flying and rolling on multiple occasions while filming...)
OMG! That was me yesterday! I did let some air out, but too much. My husband and I were both trying to get it to the right amount of air. It was a comedy team. If there was someone videoing me, they would have been rolling on the floor as much as the ball! Still a lot of fun!😅@@SeniorShapeFitness

I really do like the mini ball. It seems like nothing but it is really effective and I agree focusing on holding the ball in place does distract. Also I like the mini ball mixed into the variety of workouts. When you don't feel like picking up your weights and it isn't a cardio day then it is nice option to have in your tool kit.

I have a mini ball but don’t use it that often. So this has given me some ideas. I watched this first, as it’s so discouraging to be doing the exercises and then find one is not supple enough to do some of them. My hamstrings are TIGHT. I always have difficulty sitting on the floor with a straight back, wherever I put my legs. And I get excruciating cramp in my calves quite often while doing the ‘crab’ with only one foot on the ground. But now I know what to expect, and will do my best to do what I can.

@@SeniorShapeFitnessI did this mini all work out this morning. I have developed osteoarthritis in my left hip, which is consequently very stiff. Although it feels brittle, I am not sure that it really is. I walk a lot, as I have dogs and live in the mountains, but my range of movements is limited with just walking. So my question is, sitting cross legged, for example, is difficult, and my left leg won’t flatten down towards the floor. Should I force it gently to flatten or just leave it? The same goes for other movements, when I am asked to rotate that leg in its socket, it is so stiff and I don’t know whether to force it gently, or just omit the exercise. I am trying to develop the muscle and tendons around that socket in order to take some of the strain from my hip. Thank you in advance for your input.
@@lcbrittain I'm sorry I can't not give you advice. I'm not a doctor. I would advise you to see a physical therapist. In general, you don't want to do any movements that cause you pain, but it sounds like you need some stretching. More flexibility will allow for greater mobility.
