Best part about the videos of Rob Riches is that he explains all the workouts so properly for beginners to do it precisely!!! Watch a few videos and I am already a fan of yours. Thanks Rob Riches!!!
This guy really is great at explaining things and doesnt have an ego which makes him easy to watch. I dont normally follow this kind of stuff but this i might try
I started watching your videos 2 months ago and did many exercises from your videos and to be honest now I got abs, leaner, and stronger realy inspired by you sir and your videos are very simple and productive.. thanks a lot
perfectly clear and concise instructions.seems like a humble guy and a body to die for.not many would have his humble attitude with a carved out body like that!fair play to you rob.cheers for the quality info mate...
I really like how you break down the exercises dude and explain how to go further if you're a little more advanced. I hope I can successfully execute these in the gym over this summer!
hey ,if anyone else wants to learn about how to get good abs try Mighty Shortcut Folio (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my neighbor got amazing results with it.
cheers for the helpful advice man, i get you now, thats currently what im working with, circuit abs training, i find it works much more effectively, not only working the abs harder and not wasting as much time in the gym, but its also a great substitute for fat burning ! my abs are well developed atm, just trying to mix up some other routines to really nail them and keep my body guessing ! cheers man
Rob thank you..after p90x abs ripper. I do this work out ! Lower abs is what ppl need help on..you broke it down easy as pie.. Thanks boo mwah..keep the great body going boo
Those 'leg lifts' (the 1st exercise) are great, a brilliant way of combining leg raises with reverse crunches. Try holding a light dumbbell between your feet, doing a set of around 20 reps, then dropping the dumbbell and immediately doing as many more as you can for a great lower abs workout.
Yep. That's dedication and Rob knows what he's doing. A lot of damn work and cardio as he said. Working out and diet to get less than 10% fat to even see the ab muscles is damn hard I imagine. You can't target fat sections of the body either so there's no short cuts.
Hi Rob, big fan of your videos, helpful for even advanced trainers like myself (god that sounded arrogant no?!) What I am interested to know is if you aim to reach concentric failure on each set? or do you 'ease off' slightly to make the ab workout have more of an endurance feel? Thanks in advance, you're a true inspiration.
It would be great if he could do like a circuit training, with sets and timer etc., as I can't do shown workouts on my own without following the trainer, so Rob, could you please do one?
Hi I´m 16 years old, 17 in two months. I started on a diet and started to cut a week ago, I wasn't overweight I was exercising 6-8 times a week and I did'nt eat junk food. I am 186cm tall and I was weighing 87kg. I did some tests on the internet to know approximately how much body fat I have and all tests showed around 10-15% (I know they aren't 100% correct since its taken from averages but it´s highly possible that I lie around that area). After a week I now weight in at 84kg, I have been exercising 12 times this week. I´ve been going up 7 in the morning all days except Saturday (my rest day). On Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday I did 30min walking on a treadmill then around 40min or ab workout. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I did 40min of high intense interval training. I´ve been having oatmeal and mixed berries for breakfast everyday except my rest day, I´ve been eating tuna salad each workout day for lunch, avocado and an egg for snack. And then I go to the gym again working out with weights. Monday and Thursday I did chest and shoulders, Tuesday and Friday I did biceps and triceps and Wednesday and Sunday I did back and legs. All these workouts took about 1.5 hour to 2 hours. I always had a protein shake after working out with weights with some cinmamon and nutmeg to increase my metabolism and burn extra fat. For dinner at 17:00 I had chicken with vegetables every workout day. And at around 19.30 I ate a handfull of nuts (cashews and almonds). As you see I´ve been working on like crazy and the only supplement I´ve been taking is protein powder (100% whey gold standard with 88grams of protein and 3 grams of fast acting sugars per 100gram) and I´ve been going to bed at around 21.30-22.00. And I do see quite big results, my abs are starting to show I still don't have a sixpack but the V and my obliques are starting to show. So I just wondered if this is too dangerous since I eat very few carbs a day, I try to eat just enough carbs to keep my healthy but not to many. As I said before I´m only 16 soon 17 years old I dont have that much experience. If its too dangerous could you guys give me advices on how to burn fat fast but keeping it safe.
Not sure you are serious but if this is for real you'd better consult a trainer. Not sure what country you're in so don't know how much possibility there is for you to speak to fitness experienced people. From my long and extensive experience you are overdoing it. Your bones and body are still developing so you need at least 8 hours of sleep and rest days. You can do yourself long term injury to joints and tendons. The bicep muscle for example is a very small muscle and if not treated well can give you a lifetime of problems. Every serious expert says one needs a day off in between. Train 2 or 3 days and one day rest. Or every other day. You need to talk to people who are serious and have trained a long time. I knew a lad in Germany where I was living who was 26. He had a body like a god and told me he began age 16. And some of what I've recommended to you is what he told me. I saw him 6 years later and he was still a god and training regularly with consistency. Are you in this for the short term or long run??
thanks for your answer. I live in Sweden so there are PTs everywhere, So here´s the "new" deal. I grew tired of my diet so I redid it. I added more protein overall and a little bit more carbs after workout. But I still go minus about 600-800 calories a day, before it was between 1000-1200 some days maybe even 1400. And to be honest I dont really need advices anymore, I´ve found what fits for me now. I´m not losing any weight anymore, im steady at 82-83kgs. However, I´m still losing fat and I grow stronger. But thanks anyways, and btw I´m in for the long run :)
Great video. Some people dont know, that there are exercises for upper and lower abs and the sides. They think that when you are doing sit ups its enough.
pretty good workout, nice focus on the lowers i find it annoying to mix it up at times to engage the lower portion so it's nice to have a few more things i can use
Great video, Rob. Some people are jealous and don't have the level of dedication you have. You have inspired me to kick it up a notch or two, maybe your videos can get them to be the best they can be. You have another subscriber!
Fantastic physique. I personally don't desire to be any bigger than Rob, I think, in my opinion that he has achieved a fine balance between size and definition, creating a strong, fit looking athletic physique. I know that plenty of guys look up to the body-building monsters but I find it over-the-top (again not knocking those that like that) and so thumbs up to you Rob. You're a huge inspiration to so many of us and thank you for sharing your tips and insights!
You are right ... What if I have a fat layer outside the 6 packs .... Should I keep doing it? Or should I just do cardio and get rid of the fat first then do that?
thanks rob I liked you on FB and because of that your methods are really something so I'm going to try these exercise that you have just performed here on this video and some of the other videos as I have so much trouble with no obliques and lower ab areas so with these I will try them and if it works which I know it will, I will use these exercise throughout the week. Thank you for sharing this.
Ok...so what if he juices or not, the fact is that the exercises and technique are sound. Further most people can achieve well sculpted abs through hard work and nutrition...FACT. If he does steroids, well, he'll have to deal with the consequences. At this point most who exercise know the dangers of juicing up, and if they decided to do it, what can I say? But the exercises are great!
15min of cardio to get heartrate up, then without resting do the standing twist. That's how I got rid of mine. Went from 250lbs to 185lbs. (you can type in oblique workout 6min abs, then you find a video of kozaksports which I used) This is no spam, I love Rob Riches, love Scooby, the muscletwins, Elliot Hulse, etc. I just take what works for me out of their vids. Every body is unique, take care of yours, grtz from belgium
What about windshield wipers--where you lie on your back and hold your legs straight up, then rotate the hips side to side. Are those really effective for obliques?
Hi Rob! Excellent video. Very helpful! To the question of "how to loose fat around belly" you would've answer, cardio and diet. I am doing it for over 5 months but i still have some fat around my lower abs. What do you recommend as effective belly fat burnout? Appreciate your answer :)
Can you explain what you mean by 'tone'? Will the abs get harder? (As in, if I train my abs enough, will they become naturally hard so I wont have to tense to show of my 6-pack?)
Thanks very much for this. The only part I can never hit properly is the lower abs and obliques. All I kept finding was diet, diet, diet, but I don't want to lose weight, I want to put it on. Going to use the crap out of these exercises!
I am going to add this exercises for my daily abdominal crunches routine. I hope this must be effective to work my lower abdomenal section. Thanks for this vedio sir.
Could someone tell me why people always suggest doing higher numbers of reps when training abs (like 15, 20, 3o etc.)? Wouldn't it be best to stay in the 8-12 rep range like any other muscle? Thanks

Just wondering if any specific reason or measure to prevent/correct issue. I really though I had good posture and I do workout every body part, it felt like whiplash. I enjoy your videos, thanks Rob
