Lifetime Packer fan here but I have to say the Bears in the early 80,s lifted the Midwest peoples spirits, big time! Can still name every starters 1st and last name
They lifted the spirits of the world Bro! The players were so popular that they made them into cartoons, and action figures. I remember a cartoon about Refridgerator Perry who went around and fought crime. I was a 5-year-old kid who found out there was a guy in football who was as big as a fridge that nobody could stop and I was hooked. It's was a mythology that you could watch on TV. The cast of characters from that team and the 2 Feuding Coaches, Iron Mike, and Buddy Ryan, and a beautiful city captivated the world. It's tragic the fall from grace.
Jim McMahon is truly one of the greatest QBs of all time. He also gave me plenty of laughs over the years. His battles with Ditka, and Rosell were Epic! They don't make them like Jim these days.
He was amazing in college. Catholic Rock Star in a Mormon town. Confident in his craft. Steve Young followed him up, he was also great, but super anxious compared to McMahon
67-30 all time is a bad ass starting record. McMahon also holds the record for most consecutive starts undefeated (playoffs included) 25-0. 1984 ~ 1987.
Don't care what you say who is giving something for one of his teammates and you'll never know what that means to give something for one of your teammates
Packer fan here. If I could hang out with any NFL player for a day it would be this guy. Move to San Diego Jim! Weed is legal, beer is plentiful, barefoot golf all day, that's how we live our lives! By the time we get to 18 we don't know where we are!
I sat at a table at Dino Cicerelli golf outing at the Orchards in Washington Twp Michigan and Jim McMahon was present. OMG. I laughed my ass off all evening. He's the best. And yes, he was sans shoes. Long lived the 1985 Chicago Bears.
Met Jim over 40 years ago when we were students at BYU together. Just a nice guy then as now. What impressed me is that he didn't have near the size or demeanor of what you think would be a D1 or future NFL player. With his size, seemed like maybe 5' 11" (before he had bulked up much) and wearing glasses, he could have passed for a nerdy engineering student instead of the lights-out QB talent he was even then.
86 was my first Superbowl here in the UK it was when we first saw American Football, that Bears team was legendary. McMahon was this brash young kid, crazy to see him now, still looking good and speaking his mind tho
One great interview (and interviewee)---in every respect. It's SO refreshing to hear someone speak without political correctness. He's from before the snowflake, low-self esteem era. God bless Mad Mac.
When McMahon said the penalties today are a joke, I've literally seen several games today decided by bad calls. And I've seen them call roughing the passer for barely touching the QB. That's one reason I don't watch football anymore.
I'm from Green Bay and because of my mother, during the mid and late '80s, I was convinced that the Chicago Bears were worse than Soviets. Really, we called in 'The Bear Game', and it happened twice a year and watching it was very much like watching the US hockey team play the USSR.
McMahon talking about 80's Bears, "All our practices were live." Fast forward to now. they practice at half speed with nerf foam on. Surprise surprise, the defense forgets how to tackle and players forget how to protect themselves from getting injured.
It is so good to see him healthy. I' ve heard and seen article about Jim having Alzheimer's or dementia where his wife or caregiver would have to show him a picture of him and her together so that he would know who she was. Either that was bullshit or that stem cell treatment really worked for him. Just great to see him healthy. When was this interview taken.
Charles Martin is a piece of garbage for that hit. Ruined the man's life. McMahon is a legend. They had his autobiography at the library in middle school. I read it twice.
We still love you ,i did bet money on the bears on that Miami game you guys got us the super bowl look up dr joe wallach.he can get you back in shape eyes neck etc.get you back in the game.we need you back.8 n 8.got a set of clubs the driver and hybird are cheap crapy but new.my cousin got fancy hi dollar driver and hybird im trying to keep up .its just good fun.
He was a bull in a bull shop on those Bears teams, he just happened to be a older Bear who couldn't stand to hibernate anymore, his pain of his mistakes is still there, but his upbringing won't let him deal with it. Love Ditka! He is the Ditkiest!
Hate to call bullshit on a hero of mine, but double bogeyed the last hole to shoot 72 without food and throwing up bloody marys? I just don't fucking buy it.
Played golf with him at the EMC Skills Challenge a number of years ago. He drank heavily. Did drugs. And was generally a jerk. Not sure the dementia came from blows to the head.
Dont know about him being a jerk, but a lot of ex pro athletes smoke a fair amount of pot to a) tame the inner beast/psychosis that made em so good and b) reduce the persistent pain from injuries. If you’ve had that kinda of pain, you’d understand.

If thats true than any qb that ever was signed to an nfl team was truly one of the greatest of all time.
He was amazing in college. Catholic Rock Star in a Mormon town. Confident in his craft. Steve Young followed him up, he was also great, but super anxious compared to McMahon
Jim is one of the most colorful NFL players of his time and what I love the most about him is, he tells it like it is,,,,, no B/S
Jim McMahon went 8-3 in Philly and 8-4 in Minnesota AFTER Chicago. This guy is legit. It's great to see him in good health and spirits.
67-30 all time is a bad ass starting record. McMahon also holds the record for most consecutive starts undefeated (playoffs included) 25-0. 1984 ~ 1987.
Don't care what you say who is giving something for one of his teammates and you'll never know what that means to give something for one of your teammates
You will never know what it means to give something for your teammate
You could have that if you actually had one of those
When they have no nuts and they're actually actually asking you questions how does that feel
McMahon is a good story teller
Love the punky QB, Jim McMahon! Great interview! That was off the charts GREAT.
Packer fan here. If I could hang out with any NFL player for a day it would be this guy. Move to San Diego Jim! Weed is legal, beer is plentiful, barefoot golf all day, that's how we live our lives! By the time we get to 18 we don't know where we are!
"bring me the towel son" LMAO Love Jimmy Mac

Jim was given a golden arm by God.
That was prob the coolest interview ever. Dudes so chill
Absolutely......totally a REAL person that you would love to hang out with.
Jim was a character, punk and rebel, on one of the best teams of all-time. Keep pounding those beers.
he is one of the best guests of all time. these 2 hosts though are total clowns
86 was my first Superbowl here in the UK it was when we first saw American Football, that Bears team was legendary. McMahon was this brash young kid, crazy to see him now, still looking good and speaking his mind tho
Worked with Jimmy Mac in Chicago with the ifl Slaughter team. Great dude.
Great interview, loved Jim and the 85' Bears....
loving these interviews
Jim needs his own podcast!!
That was great.....just happened upon the interview and ended up watching the whole thing.....hilarious.....
Jim has the best stories
Love Jim and Love this interview !!
My mother thought Jim McMahon was the sexiest NFL player in the '80s. She had a sweet spot for the Bad Boys in every pro sport.
Love it!!! Slamming Silver Bullets!!🙌🙌🙌🙌🍺🍺🍺🍺
Luv him he's my favorite, since I was 14
One great interview (and interviewee)---in every respect. It's SO refreshing to hear someone speak without political correctness. He's from before the snowflake, low-self esteem era. God bless Mad Mac.
10:57 lol
Great interview guys. I subscribed.
Jim was a football badass!
Jim is still a cool as ever.
he's the best. a buddy of mine's dad played a pro am with him and has some great stories. the man can drink beer
When McMahon said the penalties today are a joke, I've literally seen several games today decided by bad calls. And I've seen them call roughing the passer for barely touching the QB.
That's one reason I don't watch football anymore.
Jimmy Mac will never pay for a drink or dinner in this town! Chicago loves the Mad Mac!
Well he doesn’t seem to love you guys back sadly
@@tom_the_giantsfan929 He likes the fans fine, it's the Bear organization that he's done with.
Great interview!
Maybe, but he had some brain damage problems which could interfere
Jim McMahon is an awesome guy. Not a Bears fan but he is a legend of the NFL.
I'm from Green Bay and because of my mother, during the mid and late '80s, I was convinced that the Chicago Bears were worse than Soviets. Really, we called in 'The Bear Game', and it happened twice a year and watching it was very much like watching the US hockey team play the USSR.
7:30 Couldn't agree more.
Mac for the HOF !!!
He was a winner period, people who say 85' Bears was D only don't know about it most likely not a Bear fan.
McMahon talking about 80's Bears, "All our practices were live."
Fast forward to now. they practice at half speed with nerf foam on. Surprise surprise, the defense forgets how to tackle and players forget how to protect themselves from getting injured.
Great interview
I love Jimmy Mac
This guy is just absolutely pounding beers.
Mac is one of the good ones.
close your eyes and jim sounds like Billy Bob Thornton
No BBT sounds like Jim.
I got to play with him a few years ago in a charity tourney. It was a blast. I think I remember him playing barefoot...
Why am i not surprised about Belichick
Amazing Brady stuck around that long.
Most coaches are like Belichick
F*ing love this. Jimmy Mac, favorite QB ever and I’m a die hard Seahawks fan. Would love to meet him someday.
Does Anybody know name of those sunglasses? Love them.
Wonder if he played baseball with Ainge at BYU
Amazing. These guys have never seen Blazing saddles!! How America has changed over the past 20 years.
I was living in England Andover the 80s bears. Jim McMahon was like a top gun tom cruise
Guy can reportedly drink 50 beers a day!
Jim came to The Breakers Hotel where I was a valet in college. I was so disappointed my fav QB , I grew up in Chicago, He never tipped a soul.
stevedahl cheap AF.
I just wanna know - can Jim still drop kick a field goal from fifty?
I must have missed the fork in the eye story
Cascade Fairways in Orem. It’s no longer there. Across the street from osmond studios.
It is so good to see him healthy. Very good work, fello Denverites
Love JM. Real guy.
Charles Martin is a piece of garbage for that hit. Ruined the man's life. McMahon is a legend. They had his autobiography at the library in middle school. I read it twice.
Terrible book. Great player..
Forrest Gregg, the Packers coach was a bigger POS. I’ve heard Gregg had a bounty on Jimmy Mac. Jim confirmed it.
maybe the ugliest move ever in NFL, 2 game suspension? how 'bout at least the remaining 4 games. smh
"We're not gonna have another Minnesota??" WTF!!??
classic
Bear down!
McMahon is a stud, these guys are puds..
The guy wearing the headband actually looks like McMahon.
We still love you ,i did bet money on the bears on that Miami game you guys got us the super bowl look up dr joe wallach.he can get you back in shape eyes neck etc.get you back in the game.we need you back.8 n 8.got a set of clubs the driver and hybird are cheap crapy but new.my cousin got fancy hi dollar driver and hybird im trying to keep up .its just good fun.
when he gets out of his house, he forgets how to get back to it
saddle a couple chipmunks Jordan would bet on it...
Havent seen Blazing saddles??..GTFO!
Ditka is overrated as a HC, the guy is clueless too many times.
They won the Super Bowl, nothing else matters.
He was a bull in a bull shop on those Bears teams, he just happened to be a older Bear who couldn't stand to hibernate anymore, his pain of his mistakes is still there, but his upbringing won't let him deal with it. Love Ditka! He is the Ditkiest!

You sound like a real nice guy maybe you have dementia yourself
Dont know about him being a jerk, but a lot of ex pro athletes smoke a fair amount of pot to a) tame the inner beast/psychosis that made em so good and b) reduce the persistent pain from injuries. If you’ve had that kinda of pain, you’d understand.
I thought he had started to get dementia 10 years ago?
When did he began to go bald or he just keeps his head shaved now?
Great boner pill show. Has-been shits himself, curses child, daughter celebrates his debauch.
Last interview with a guy so full of himself and his own lies and ego was Chris Kyle.....
Your a typical Beta male !! LMFAO
