    Prime MJ would lead the league in scoring every season in todays NBA. And he would probably be somewhere around 45 a game. In the 1987-88 season, MJ won MVP,DPOY, scoring champion , slam dunk championship, and all star game MVP. You will never ever see that again.

      Only Bird with the Celts comes close

    • @nathanrobinson3653
      @nathanrobinson3653 Рік тому +6

      I saw him before Bird retired and Bird and the Celtics beat him 65% of the time and swept him and the Bulls in both playoff match-ups. He was crying on the bench near the end of the game in the final playoff loss to Bird--and Bird would trash talk them in the process. Jordan had a great game and skill, very athletic and tenacious, but he couldn't really beat Bird. Bird took an awful team to +30 wins his rookie year and showed out against the conference bully 76ers in the playoffs and then went on to win a title in year two. Bird made everyone around him so much better making an Indiana State Sycamore team in college who had never been to the tournament to a 33-0 record going into the National title game averaging like 32,13, and 5. Put Bird with any 4 good players and they will compete for titles--no coaching savant or Robin required. When Jordan left the team after the 3rd title, his team only lost 1 more game that regular season. Give me any 4 guys by position in the top 100 with Bird and that's a title against any line-up. Bird was that good and he has way more stories, legend, trash-talking. It's all on You tube and after watching him in-career and UA-cam videos for years I still see new stuff surface after all these years. Check it--broken occipital, stitches, staples, bad back from '86 onward, clamp, the left-hand game, dislocated fingers, achilles tendenitis, trash-talking backing it up during the game, fighting, buzzer-beaters, steal playoff game saves, triple-doubles, the 30-10-10-9 steal almost quadruple-double game in 31 minutes (sat the entire 4th quarter because blowin out the Jazz), Magic sayin "he is the best basketball player ever", Jordan says "no one happier than me to see you retire", Gary Payton sayin "Bird will give it to you any way he wants to." Bird sayin "I am gonna take 2 dribbles and shoot it right in your face" to everyone or tellin Dominique "You don't belong in this league holmes". I only say all this because you speak like you are a good fan and have a good eye for the game. If you missed Bird, check hum out. There are hours and hours of different legends and stories and highlights. A treasure trove. Jordan is awesome, and Kobe, and LeBron, but Bird was so good he could fit perfect with anyone and never needed a 2nd superstar or "Robin". Peace.

    The way the game was played in the 80's and 90s was more passionate, the mentallity was stronger, more espectacular.

    I think what Glen Rice said defines MJ: He was a fierce competitor on BOTH sides of the floor. That's uncommon. The man won MVP and DPOY in the same year, after all.

    This is really funny to me. I was 5 years old and my only game I’ve ever seen michael jordan play. Game 3 in Chicago and Michael has 10 beers and 26 rounds of golf before the game and does that. Makes my childhood memory that much better!

    There was Something psychopathic about Jordan's mindset he wants to beat you at anything at all costs not just basketball . He had no weaknesses and athletically he was on another level speed & vertical jump, then you have the fundimental skill level elite, and add in the clutch gene unbelievable. and just watching him play was poetry in motion beautiful game .

    I think the biggest difference about Jordan was the impact on the casual fan, even the non-sports fan. Back in the day EVERYBODY talked about him, wanted to see his next game, folks who didn’t even like sports. I dated a girl who was a dancer, didn’t give a shit about sports, but wanted to see whatever magic he’d bring next. Nobody today is MUST SEE TV like that.
