The fact that this woman got so triggered over a gay character existing in an adult cartoon even for just a joke is mind boggling. OK, bit of a rant here, but I hate, *HATE*, when people use "snowflake" to mean "fragile." That's not what snowflakes are known for, and not how the insult was used. It was born from 4chan during the mid 2010's, in a direct response to the frankly unhinged Tumblr users trying to out-marginalize each other. It started with "Sure, this person is gay, but I'm gay and black, but they're gay, asian, a furry, and diabetic, so they win" thing to people literally and (probably) unironically identifying as Pluto. As in the former planet. And they were saying that people needed to put trigger warning for Neil Degrasse Tyson because he "traumatized" Pluto by making it no longer a planet. While snowflakes often were stereotyped as being easily offended and quick to anger, it was the "Yes, I sexually identify as a goddamn space rock" that was the main mocking point. So, and this goes for everyone, unless you are talking about someone who is desperately trying to be unique and special in the most obnoxious way possible, don't use the term snowflake. However, I just wanted to tell you that I don’t think they are promoting lgbtq agenda at all, I think they are mocking it. The whole making fun of skinny jeans and stuff is basically an extremely comedic jab at the lgbtq, and even if they where promoting lgbtq, then they are doing a pretty bad job at it. I am not here to make a decision for you, but I would honestly say you can watch it without feeling like you are going against your beliefs, because the show is not trying to promote anything gay at all. However, the show will include profanity and pretty edgy humor, so there is that to watch out for.
Can't even deal with a one-note joke gay character existing, even when they only exist as a joke. Bottom of the barrel characterization, but even that's too much. Simply being reminded that gay people exist is too much for her, even when the character writing is as offensive and careless as this. That's just sad. But the bright side is that we've clearly won the culture war when even the worst possible representation on display in right-wing media becomes intolerable to these types. The thing that bothered me most about this show (as a fellow Christian) is that the titular Mr. Birchum embodies few Christian or socially conservative virtues. He shows little love for his wife (Husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church), he barely makes an attempt to connect with his son who is struggling with Sloth, and most of the time we see him he's either bitter about something or being spitefully irresponsible. In the first episode we see him inviting a bunch of middle schoolers to his house and instructing them to keep it hidden from their parents. That's not appropriate! He's not a good man in either a worldly or spiritual sense.

I'm a Christian conservative, and i watched this video shaking my head. Based on the title i thought there would be an actual point, but unfortunately it was just silliness. I don't like the show and i don't plan to watch it. But the character existed for the sake of making a piint in that scene. If you're upset about that, it's no wonder you cut yourself off from watching tv. Apparently you can't handle people whose beliefs differ from your own. And even if they do agree with your beliefs, that's still not good enough.
@@person6768 having read Ephesians 5, I get where you're coming from. But as a consumer of media you gotta learn to accept that the world we live in is the way it is. You can't hide yourself in a bubble and get mad at others for not doing the same. The best way to share what you believe in is to speak it in love. And the best way to do that is to not be fragile and shatter at the mere thought of different beliefs existing.

I watched a Christian’s review of Hazbin Hotel (someone who actually watched the show) and she mentioned that as long as it doesn’t tempt you to sin in real life you should be good. I think the problem is that people on both the left and the right are becoming way too desperate to appease their own community that they become strictly puritan which holds creative liberty back.
Just curious, do you do the same thing while going out in public? Like if you’re at a restaurant and the server is clearly gay, do you ask for a different one because you’re so offended by them? Part of that is accepting that government shouldn’t have a role in deciding who is allowed to be in relationships. Separation of church and state. I agree with your point about not accepting wrongdoing (like adultery), that is actually a good counter, but most people just don’t believe that it is. Like I said you’re a growing minority in our country. I also agree about the trans point. But I don’t think they and gay people are the same. There are examples of somewhat rare cases of gay animals and gay people have been around in history for a long time. They exist and don’t harm people. Trans and gay people are not the same. To clarify I’ll admit there’s most likely a generational difference here. I am more socially liberal than the right of the past, but so are most people who share similar beliefs to me. I believe in conservative economic policies and I draw lines at a lot of the stuff the left does, but that doesn’t mean I can’t call out stuff that I disagree with. The thing that bothered me most about this show (as a fellow Christian) is that the titular Mr. Birchum embodies few Christian or socially conservative virtues. He shows little love for his wife (Husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church), he barely makes an attempt to connect with his son who is struggling with Sloth, and most of the time we see him he's either bitter about something or being spitefully irresponsible. In the first episode we see him inviting a bunch of middle schoolers to his house and instructing them to keep it hidden from their parents. That's not appropriate! He's not a good man in either a worldly or spiritual sense.

I'm a Christian conservative, and i watched this video shaking my head. Based on the title i thought there would be an actual point, but unfortunately it was just silliness. I don't like the show and i don't plan to watch it. But the character existed for the sake of making a piint in that scene. If you're upset about that, it's no wonder you cut yourself off from watching tv. Apparently you can't handle people whose beliefs differ from your own. And even if they do agree with your beliefs, that's still not good enough.

@@person6768 having read Ephesians 5, I get where you're coming from. But as a consumer of media you gotta learn to accept that the world we live in is the way it is. You can't hide yourself in a bubble and get mad at others for not doing the same. The best way to share what you believe in is to speak it in love. That doesn't mean excusing sin, but rather shedding a light on why certain things are sinful. And the best way to do that is to not be fragile and shatter at the mere thought of different beliefs existing.
Even if you disagree with the show, hating on lgbtq in a UA-cam video like this does nothing for anyone, except give Christianity a bad reputation. This isn’t preaching love, it’s just saying you hate gay people. Even if you do disagree with the show, this video doesn’t serve any positive purpose

I watched a Christian’s review of Hazbin Hotel (someone who actually watched the show) and she mentioned that as long as it doesn’t tempt you to sin in real life you should be good. I think the problem is that people on both the left and the right are becoming way too desperate to appease their own community that they become strictly puritan which holds creative liberty back.

As for the second part of what you said I've actually only had negative experiences with gay people in restaurants not because I'm a Christian but because they act like they're too good to work and that's somehow my problem. I actually don't know how I'd feel about a hypothetical gay person who actually just was doing their job. I know I don't at all want to here about the sin or be emotionally manipulated with TV but a restaurant I seriously think if I could just meet one who doesn't have some weird pride issue that makes them act like a narcissist who can't believe they had to hand me a burger, well then I'd eat there and just not go back because that place still isn't for me.

I honestly don’t think most people here are brainwashed. I’m conservative. I also accept gay people. These people come from a more loving place than you do, at least in our minds. Love thy neighbor- but not if he’s gay- is your rationale. I don’t know how somehow whose whole religion is about love can be so vitriolic against a group of people. The Bible you read isn’t even the original translation, so if you can’t accept moving past old ways of thinking, then the world around you doesn’t have to cater to you. Other conservatives often say “the world doesn’t revolve around you.” It doesn’t revolve around you either honey. Your way of thinking is being left behind.
If your study of the Bible has really led you to believe hating a group of people is the way of Jesus, the way of humanity, I suggest you find a new god.

@@person6768 I am a conservative. I want smaller government, less taxes, more freedoms. Part of that is accepting that government shouldn’t have a role in deciding who is allowed to be in relationships. Separation of church and state. I agree with your point about not accepting wrongdoing (like adultery), that is actually a good counter, but most people just don’t believe that it is. Like I said you’re a growing minority in our country. I also agree about the trans point. But I don’t think they and gay people are the same. There are examples of somewhat rare cases of gay animals and gay people have been around in history for a long time. They exist and don’t harm people. Trans and gay people are not the same.
To clarify I’ll admit there’s most likely a generational difference here. I am more socially liberal than the right of the past, but so are most people who share similar beliefs to me. I believe in conservative economic policies and I draw lines at a lot of the stuff the left does, but that doesn’t mean I can’t call out stuff that I disagree with. By now I think gay people should be accepted.
