The issues with shows like Velma and Mr. Birchum on ends of the political spectrums is that most of the “jokes” they tell aren’t jokes They’re just political statements said in a somewhat snarky way disguised as jokes
Good stories don't come from neither left nor right. They come from people who want to tell good stories. Matt Walsh has gone on record saying adults shouldn't watch cartoons. Not cartoons for kids, which would already be a ludicrous statement, just cartoons period. While he doesn't represent everyone at the Daily Wire, with such a prominent figure having a take like that, it's not shocking to me that the Daily Wire crashes and burns every time they try to do something media related that's primary purpose is to entertain rather than inform. How you feel about what you do shows in your work.

Like it’s fine to make clones of a popular product! Both resident evil and Tom and Jerry has clones but the difference between those clones and how the daily wire tries to make clones feels kind of soulless!
Fun Fact, they actually wanted lady ballers to be a documentary about trans women in women’s sports, but they couldn’t because they found out you need to be on HRT for a certain number of years in order to qualify for female sports as a trans woman. So they made a shitty outrage bait comedy because they realized the issue they wanted to cover was literally a non-issue
And when we call them out for being awful and unoriginal it means we're "triggered." It's like, no dude. The only thing offensive about your content is how unfunny it is.
As a conservative, even I find Daily Wire annoying. Especially since they're more concerned about outrage milking than trying to advocate regarding the issues they claim to stand on.
The daily wire is a poison to the right. This is a consistent issue I see with conservative media. It tends to have an issue of forging its identity on hating the left as opposed to being good in its own right.
@@ArtieArchives To me the eye-opener was them bitching about the Margot Robbie Barbie instead of calling out the evidence that Trump isn't a conservative.

They aimed to make an edgelord cartoon to offend the "libs" and ended up producing something too bland and tame to offend anyone. I don't know how a team of writers and voice actors ended up being so terrible at being offensive on purpose. An edgy teenage 4chan user could have made for a better writer than whomever they hired for this!!
Hi. Zoomer republican here. The reason why these older conservatives/Republicans can't be edgy even when they try is that they're not willing to, metaphorically, "fight on their opponents level." It's the same reason they don't like the orange man and would rather vote for a turkey sandwich: they don't want to be rude or mean even though they spend so much time talking about backbone.
@@etrangray-mane8610 Interesting perspective on this (I'm very lib left myself and would not have had this insight). I still wonder why Roseanne Barr isn't able to at least cough up something as offensive as what she said on Twitter. I guess they must have given her tranquilizers before they had her do voice acting for this show.
1) That little moment was absolute gold for me and im glad multiple people noticed it 2) This is entirely unrelated but you should check out Rick Astley's new work, he's still kicking and his music is unironically good with or without the memes. @@emilygordbort7300 Yeah it's surprising how a lot of good artists get noticed for one or two good songs from the 80s and 90s yet are still around dropping bangers that go unnoticed. I really like Toto's newer songs. They were the group behind the hit song Africa. Struck by lightning and alone are pretty good modern songs.
I don't like to say modern media is "too political". If anything, I think modern media has forgotten the purpose of political themes. Social commentary is supposed to make us THINK about issues, and we don't really see that anymore. Instead it's more focused on pointing the finger at whatever group you don't like and shouting "look how stupid they are!" And before you tell me this is a problem specific to the "right" or "left", it's something you see on both sides. Tell me the left leaning straw man in this show isn't written the EXACT same way a "woke" cartoon like Velma would write a straight, white, right-leaning Christian male.
This is a problem, especially because it contributes to the current political polarization. They preach to the choir and don't even try to understand the other side. Nobody wants to have a honest debate anymore. Just "owning the libs" or "destroy the Right".
Major problem: Velma is in no way left leaning. Closest is probably liberal? But that's just right leaning that likes weed. The whole "both sides bad" thing is an absolute braindead take.
I can at least say Velma, despite making most of the characters unlikable or changing their personalities completely, is still interesting to look at. The art style is super unique by adult comedy show standards. Mr. Birchum manages to be boring and make Family Guy look like a moving Renaissance painting by comparison.
I think the Daily Wire's main problem is that these shows are been written by political commentators, rather than entertIners, thus the messaging is too hamfisted and the humor & plot fall flat
Adam Carolla wrote it and he does have experience as a comedian and comedy writer. Though the show does suffer from how often it cracks anti-Left jokes.
It does reek of trying to be too offensive based around how to offend Leftists the most. It feels too forced, too lacking at times instead of making the subject the Leftist talking point is about into a joke by playing on the ridiculousness. Like, King of the Hill did this much better and it aged better back in the 90's.
Left, right - I don’t care, but LEARN HOW TO TELL A JOKE! This is painful like watching the stand up routine of someone who’s only goal was to peeve off their supportive parents.
This show also has a good side. It made me realize why shows that use a 4 finger hand art style usually don't draw wedding rings. Because it looks very weird having them on the middle finger.
@@jerm-gv9rv Also in closeups when fidgeting with the ring or taking it of as a way of visual storytelling. But they still try to draw wedding rings as little as possible.
Don't diss Tubi. They have almost all the Hub shows including Littlest Pet Shop 2012 and Dan Vs. And it is free! But I have to agree. Mr Birchum....is just awful. As The Daily Wire+ should not even be a thing as well as their pricey Bentkey service where Chip Chilla is, being a poor Bluey clone.
I frequently check on Tubi as it seems to be the only place you can find stuff the other services don't find profitable. While it's no longer available, it was where I was finally able to see Freddy's Nightmares.
I am a very left leaning person, the purest definition of a snowflake in the eyes of the Daily Wire employees who made this show, and yet, when I see the strawman "woke dude" character and he says his "woke" lines I just burst out laughing cuz of how lame it is. I get the feeling they wanted me to cry on Twitter about how this show threatened my life or something but it's just really soft lol.
I think that's where the biggest problem with the show lies. They're bragging about having the urge to trigger the left yet are too afraid to actually say anything offensive. If they DID actually do something offensive worthy like saying slurs then they would have to face actual consequences. They didn't want to actually start any controversy or piss off the left. They wanted to piss off Twitter users and nobody else.
The dumbest thing about labeling things like this or Ladyballers as 'anti-woke comedy' is how they're essentially just woke content but for ideologically obsessed right wingers. Remember those old Tumblr /Twitter Comics where the 'comedy' was their self inserts pwning their strawmen? That's the exact same vibes I get. None of it's actually funny or clever, it's just "Hey, that's my political opinion being said. That makes it good and funny." Especially bad when the 'offensive' comedy is just the most tired, overdone jokes imaginable.
The funniest thing about LadyBallers was that it was attempting to be transphobic but ended up being much more offensive towards women than trans people

Im pretty conservative, and I think this show is incredibly cringe. You know how people were saying that Velma feels like it was written by conservatives parodying how progressives would write something, Mr. Birchum feels like the exact reverse of that
@foreverdreamwithinadream6871 DW are just completely disconnected. The reason why we were tired of leftoid shows was because they forcer politics into everything. This is exactly that, but I guess those are the "correct" politics, so it's fine... no, no it's not. We just want regular stuff without politics
really? i was expecting conservatives to yap about if you go woke you go broke. cause politics is a joke and it comes as no surprise people don't take liberalism, conservatism. or any fuckwad ideology seriously.
The biggest thing about this show, is that it ironically becomes exactly what alot of right-wingers or anti-left are complaining about current media. I'm sure this show has its supporters, but there's genuinely a group of people with the specific complain of "not wanting to see these things shoved down their throats". And then this show, tries SO HARD to dunk on the opposite agenda, that it ends up shoving it down people's throats, which is exactly what part of that group of people DON'T WANT.
In fairness to "the conservatives," The Daily Wire lately has done a lot to anger people who could fall under that wide umbrella of "conservative" lately. Matt Walsh alone is the weird boomer uncle who has half a point a good amount of the time but always has to ruin it by trying to marry that with some cringe fringe lunatic thing he heard on Facebook. I don't support this, a lot of people don't, especially since the Daily Wire in particular for whatever reason are just trying to out-left the left on this and it's just bad. King of the Hill wore its perspective on its sleeve, it's comedy, but reserved and... well... conservative in more than just political affiliation. That's what made it work. It traded the raw guffaw power of a Family Guy shock joke for eminent believability to get you to laughing.
When conservatives say “We don’t want politics shoved down our throats.” It’s actually just a dog whistle for “We want all media to align with conservative values aka. No Gays, no black people, no minorities of any kind or we will throw a temper tantrum!” It’s not about politics being forced on people, it’s about the “WRONG” politics being forced on people.
@@steamboatwill3.367 Do all of the things the left stereotypically does but "better" in order to spread. Buried in the annals of theory positions is something known as the theory of Empire, it is explicitly a left-wing notion, and it states that not only is every piece of media political, every piece of media is propaganda. So the Daily Wire see this, see left wingers absolutely take this position, and want to out-do them on their own terms. Needless to say, I think at best this is trying to win a flame war with a wet match against a Flammenwerfer, but it nevertheless is an accurate depiction of events.
I think it's noteworthy that none of the actors/writers who work at the Daily Wire had any amount of success. It's almost like these shows are made out of bitterness and jealousy or something.
I know that pointing out the faults in specific dumb things they make the SJW teacher say is a fool's errand, but like... "Do I have your consent to shake your hand?" It's not like you just suddenly grab someone's hand at their side without warning. That's... like, just not how a handshake works. You extend your hand, and they do or do not take it. Extending your hand for a handshake is ALREADY an act of establishing consent.
It's like they took a look at people's reactions to modern adult cartoons and thought the only issue people had with them was that they were left leaning
Let me get this straight: The Daily Wire, a political news broadcaster, was annoyed about media being political. So their answer to this "Political agenda" was to make a show that's just as political without focusing on the story for kids, and then make another political show that does the same thing except for adults who don't want to be "political"? That's very political for a source that's political yet claims that it doesn't want to be political. Also what people do and don't consider "political" is in itself political. I've seen SpongeBob episodes that are edgier than this.
The Goode Family was supposed to be making liberals look like idiots. Funny enough this show does the same for conservatives even though that's the opposite of its intention.
King of the Hill did conservative comedy better not only because it was funny but it also had heart. This show however is what happens when you blend conservative comedy with apathy.
This show makes us conservatives look like boring, uncreative, angry, out of touch old guys. The Daily Wire doesn't have a single creative bone in its body.
No, that's just an anti-conservative talking point propagated by communist bigots as a form of confession through projection. Conservative comedy is comedy and anybody who says it is not funny as lying. Communist comedy is an oxymoron. Only conservatives are funny because only conservatism is rooted in reality.
Only shows that do this well are koth and american dad as it's only sprinkled in at times and not the main joke. Like when stan and haley debated about guns and we get the legendary swordgun scene. Or jeff talks about obamacare to make stan angry. Plus they didn't take the lowest hanging fruit to talk about trump like literally every comedian or show or fake talk show and stuck to being funny.
King of the hill is dated and american dad kept talking about bush for the first 50 ep. Also they did a trump ep and couldn't talk about anything positive for it.
@@senister14 koth is not dated. It's still hilarious to watch. Imagine calling a show dated and not watching the snow episode and seeing how it "aged well" with what Texas went through being unprepared and shutting down over ice. Not continuing this conversation btw

I’m sorry to say this, but I think we may just have to accept the possibility of Family Guy clones being a permanent staple in American adult animation at this point. To put this into perspective, we are almost halfway through the 2020s and they’re STILL consistently being made after they first started popping up in the late 2000s/early 2010s. The best thing we can do as animation enthusiasts is to try our best to support better, well-rounded adult cartoons that are more mature and actually have some originality and soul to them.
Mr Birchum is somehow worse than brickleberry in terms of writing and looks just as bad. Can these people stop trying to write animated comedies/comedies in general? They're really bad and airing it on *The Daily Wire* is just...sad.
>No one will greenlight our AWFUL live action sitcom >Let's make it ANIMATED! It feels like all the people making adult animated sitcoms have no actual interest in animation, they're interested in cashing in on Family guy
I'd never thought I say this, but at least Roger and Waco had comedy in mind when they made their shows. I don't like their shows, but at least it was an honest effort to make people laugh. But everyone's taste in comedy is different.
You'd think he would fine some research about that beforehand. Though he did claim that Tumblr had long since been dead even though its had a bit of a resurgence recently so...
Maybe because family guy makes fun of everyone, doesn't take itself too seriously, and was created by two dudes on opposite sides of the political aisle
Nobody wanted to see any of the communist propaganda we have been subjected to since the end of the 60s, so you will watch conservative media and like it.
I've noticed an increasingly number of people dismiss KOTH as 'conservative comedy' as they say it's actually secretly centrist and soft left, or they say that if it's pre-2012 it doesn't count since that's not real conservative.
This show was trying to be the next Velma or She Hulk and ride the wave of outrage, but it has two issues. 1: Velma and She Hulk didn’t even try to appeal to the Left. I don't like to say modern media is "too political". If anything, I think modern media has forgotten the purpose of political themes. Social commentary is supposed to make us THINK about issues, and we don't really see that anymore. Instead it's more focused on pointing the finger at whatever group you don't like and shouting "look how stupid they are!"

This is a problem, especially because it contributes to the current political polarization. They preach to the choir and don't even try to understand the other side. Nobody wants to have a honest debate anymore. Just "owning the libs" or "destroy the Right".

Like, just say "alright" and leave. You don't have to be friends with coworkers. Just like...deal with him.
14:04 Did you just Rick roll us dude?
The first time I heard him say "you know the rules", I couldn't think of anything but "and so do I"
I was totally not expecting him to say it tho 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, Liberal/Conservative comedy have the same problem. It's just showing someone of the opposing side and just saying "Wow, look how stupid this is! Good thing we're not stupid like *them*!"
5:54, I’m pretty sure he’s supposed to be based on Ian Kochinski from the UA-cam channel Vaush
He is.
I’ve seen everyone from SJWs to Monarchists abhor this show, I’m fine with different political sides making their own shows, just make them good please.
No such thing as "SJW"
the tumbler refers to the drinking container.
not the website.
its like the mug club for steven crowder
He didnt do any research on Dailywire at all. Such a lazy review.
I honestly don't know how a "conservative" thought this show was a good idea. All the time I hear conservatives complain about men on TV being portrayed as idiots (family guy.simpsons, american dad, etc). So what do they do? They make another one just like them... What they should have done is made the father a serious character that provided for his family and worked hard. Gotta beat the tv stereotype, not add to it.
The thing is that show already exists. It's called American Dad.
@@pinkdiamond1847 Not necessarily, since Stan Smith is depicted as an idiot. In the early seasons he was less so.
I don’t think this Mr. Birchum character is intended to come off as an idiot. I think the writers are going for a “only sane man” type, in a misanthropic, grouchy sort of way.
"BUTTER! BUTTER! BUTTER!"
I think poor Mr. Enter turned into Ed right there
The entire platform of the Daily Wire is rage baiting and validating pre-existing ideas
The Mysterious Mr. Bircham. All joking aside, this was a fun video!
Conservative,Liberal, what's the difference anymore?.All they want to do is boss us around and dictate what beliefs and likes we should and shouldn't have.
Yeah, pretty much. That's politics these days.
@@crazyluigi6664 Heck the words are negative.Con(to swindle)servative and Lib(make up as you as go along like ad-lib)eral.
See this is the reason why I support inde animation!
Dailywire is Independent......
@@FernandoMartinez-pv1idtrue But doesn't change the fact that their content mostly sucks there's nothing more than anti left propaganda
@@FernandoMartinez-pv1id: not really, when your company is funded by fossil fuel billionares
_Wait..._ this *WASN'T* a parody cartoon by Rockstar to lampoon American conservatives in GTA's in-game TV!?
thanks mr birchum, you set american adult animation back by about a decade
This show just makes me want to go watch King of the Hill.
This feels like a mocking satire of conservatism you would see on comedy Central. Makes sense it would come from grifters
And failed screenwriters.
Don't forget that!
4:26
AHHH yes, the three magic words.
*SIMPSONS DID IT*
1:42 A tumbler is another name for an insulated cup, sorta like those Stanley cups that were a fad a few months ago.
This video shows some real growth on the part of Mr. Enter. He finally got over his pearl clutching and realizes some things are not worth getting upset over, especially when that is what they want.
I get the need for conservative shows since literally everything is liberal now, but as a right leaning libertarian I just want escapism. I prefer watching stuff that has nothing to do with the real world. Like MLP. I don't want something that will remind me about current world idiocracy. I'm tired of being lectured by either side.
So would you be mad at gay ponies?
The OG PPG And Regular Show Are Great Shows Too
The libertarian watches MLP. The jokes just write themselves
@@browhatisthis37 What's wrong with that? You just being a d**k?
@@browhatisthis37 What's wrong with that? I've met bronies from all over the political spectrum.
The thing i dont get about the Streamer "Joke" is that same logic could be applied to the Daily Wire host, could it not?
No becauss they host a podcast/radio show which have been around for over a century..........
The joke is at Birchum’s expense
@@matityaloran9157 really cant tell the difference between a radio show and streamer?
@@FernandoMartinez-pv1id No. I can tell the difference. Though, for what it’s worth, the higher ups at the Daily Wire are familiar with (and in good terms) with (some) video game streamers. I’m pretty sure Birchum not understanding the concept of streaming is meant to be a joke at his expense.
@@matityaloran9157 i didnt mean you couldnt tell the difference. Yes that joke was at his expense. John is too angry to ses that though because the movie "What is a Woman" is still giving him anger tantrums......
It's literally a show from 2008 with a few gender jokes from 2018 sprinkled in to avoid it feeling dated.
That is an insult to shows from 2008. There are episodes of South Park and family Guy from that year that are 10 times better than this crap
this is why I'll always be a centrist. the tribalism that comes with picking a side in partisan politics is one hell of a drug.
"What are the rules, really?"
So fittingly Libertatian in a voice that sounds so much like Mr. Krabs.
The funniest thing about the show is that a show that was made to "offend the snowflakes" is so toothless in its attempts to offend.
it’s so funny. made to be ragebait but doesn’t even do anything outrageous. it’s just lame
I watched this through a react and it was actually much worse than i expected. It felt exactly like that parody Alasdair made "every episode of generic animated sitcom". It follows the rhythms of comedy, but its not funny nor sensical in any way. And the way they use the "jingles" and stuff on scene transitions somehow few like forced, and i dont know how that can be, everyone does this, but the way they this seems off.
Fox the people who green lit Allan Gregory didn't want this😂😂😂
Conservatives need to watch and take notes of a real manly show. JOJO"S BIZZARE ADVENTURE
It’s basically a conservative circlejerk, but plenty of liberals have circle jerks too, so I think it’s fair
Basically. You could offer a more damning criticism by calling it yet another Family Guy ripoff. There's just not much else to really say here.
lol…WHERE
There’s like a handful of shows with the sole purpose of mocking right wingers….
Almost every show released by right wingers is made like this
Or needs to obsess over minorities somehow
That was possibly the subtlest Rick roll in existence. Kudos
