    This recipe is AMAZING. We made 3 kinds of tamales last year and I brought the chicken using your recipe. It was the favorite! I'll be using it again this year. Thank you for being so thorough with the ingredient list and all the steps :)

    You know what? Nobody in my family ever try attempting tamales. I want to be first to try and make for my whole family! Love that tamales freeze SO WELL. (For those that don’t know, this is the perfect winter food, or can be eaten all year long, special occasions, etc.) this recipe makes it look so easy, now I’m convinced it is. Thanks for making this video!

    My mom passed away before she can teach me to cook tamales and looking to maybe find something similar like hers. I think this is the closest one to hers. Only difference is that she never added chile sauce to the maza. But thanks for the memory :)
    Add on: I will try this soon, maybe for Christmas

      Hi love, I'm sorry for your lost. I'm happy you were able to find something similar, i hope you enjoy them they are very delicious.You can still have very delicious tamales without adding the sauce to the masa, my grandma just believed that it would give them more flavor. Happy holidays and if you have any question don't hesitate to ask.

    These look phenomenal! What chili's should be used for people who want NO heat & NO spice? My family won't even eat yellow mustard bc they say it's too spicy/hot. So, what chili's could I use for a flavorful, but very *mild*, tamale?

    I have my chicken cooked and in the freezer. I bought my husks, I have masa in my freezer. I don’t have prepared. I have to make my own. I’ll need to find that recipe using masa Harina . I make my own chili powder out of all these peppers you used. Can I use the chili powder instead and do you know how much for the red sauce. I have separate jars of Puya , guajillo and New Mexico or California chili powder that I made from the pods. I don’t know how much to use though.

    Hi they look delicious 😋 but I have two questions so are chilies going to make the meat spice ? And can I soak those corn husks and then keep them in the fridge the night before ? 🤗

    • @letscookthat6537
      @letscookthat6537  4 роки тому

      Hello Ginny Day
      The dried chili pods are not Spicy Unless you add a lot of Guajillo chili pods or puya chili
      And about the corn husk is recommended only 30min-1 hour of soaking then drain, squeeze excess water and use them because if you save them the corn husk wet they can go bad . If you have extra corn husk I recommend to dry them out before saving them to reuse them later.
      Thank you for watching & stay safe

    • @letscookthat6537
      @letscookthat6537  4 роки тому

      Hi
      The sauce it’s not too spicy but if your daughters are very young and not used to spicy
      Use more California chilies and only like 3-4 guajillo chiles do not add the puya chilies or chili de Árbol because those can be spicy sometimes. Thank you for watching & Happy Holidays
