- This was something, let me tell ya. It is HARD to do a comp video with 4 sets, so much respect to those who have done this before me. It is not possible to drill down into each set, so just my overall impressions were utilized in determining my order of preference for this review. I tip rolled for over a week when I got the S12 Pro, this was the first time I realized the impact a cable could have. Thanks for bringing it up for potential buyers. Artti T10....wow.
Hey I’m in no way saying the S12 is an average set. It’s just been surpassed in most ways, but not in treble extension and sparkle and planar “sheen” and if that is someone’s preferred tuning, they will love it. But yeah, those ear hooks on the stock cable can really muck things up…

4 seconds of auditory memory I take issue with. I can remember crap tuning, sibilance, and other glaring issues I can remember far, far longer. I never forget those sets. Great review as always.
So they say. I mean, it gets really murky when you are talking about that kind of stuff. I mean how could I tell the difference between sets a, b, c & d then? I wasn't changing them inside of 4 seconds that is for sure. I am not sure where I heard that to be honest. Might have been an HBB video. Regardless, I am not buying it. :)
what I can tell you is that if you disagree with anything "sciency" on a certain sub reddit, you will get called an autistic fentanyl addict, however. Experienced that first hand yesterday. lol

I get what you're saying about the T10 I picked up the R1 with the recent sales but I find myself just wanting to go back to the T10 it sounds crisper somehow especially on higher frequency percussion.

Now, you said a very particular term that zinged my ear during the video.. kpop. Happens to be a top genre for me. As far as some recommendations go, I'd start with a group by the name of Dreamcatcher. They have a rock sound I think you'd enjoy. Boca and Shatter are two songs I think you'd like!

If you’re looking for a good test track for K-pop then give New Jeans - Attention a listen hahah. I always use that as a test track because it has a lot of nice little nuances and details which really shine on good IEMS.

Tried the F1 Pro as my first planar last month, but had to return it due to the fit being really uncomfortable for my ears. They sounded really nice, so it was a shame. Tried the S12 Pro after that, and they were way more comfortable, but vocals and instruments felt a little too buried under the bass for my taste. So I settled on the original S12 in the end. These are what I'll be sticking with. Love how they sound. 🙂
Nice! Yes I can see how the T10 might not be a universal fit. They’re small, but if that shape doesn’t sit just right… I get it.
I almost wish my first iem had been the OG S12 instead of the Pro, but honestly I am a basshead so it’s probably better I started there.

@@Voider6211 oh gotcha! Makes more sense. The Artti is tiny. The F1 Pro is definitely a “fit or miss” iem. Kinda like the East 6. Only the F1 Pro actually does fit some people…

Agreed. And so would the Shozy p20. But it probably won't happen any time soon. I disagree with both companies business practices. Silent revisions and misrepresentations do not agree with me 🤔 Maybe I should just get over it. But not yet.

I am more interested in the product than the marketing hype. Tried recent IEM's from KZ...the Castor (improved bass) and the Rhapsody (from its sister company, CCA). Both, exceptional at only $15 and $35, resp. Yes, the company had a deservedly bad rap over the past 2 years (i.e., DQ6 and CRN debacles), but I think the backlash caused them to step up their game. These new IEM's come with adjustable filters and are well tuned. Why not take advantage of the situation?
I also bought the MP145 and find it a top notch IEM and superior to my venerable S12. It's whale sized, but I can manage fitment and it has proven comfortable for me to wear for extended periods. I understand Hidizs made some questionable marketing statements tied to "saving the whales", in an attempt to surround their whale-themed design with buckets (or barrels) of virtue signaling. Maybe their head of marketing is a Japanese bloke that captains a whaling vessel on the weekends...whatever. The IEM sounds great...the materials and finish exude a high level of quality and, except for a bag in lieu of an actual case, it is appointed with nice accessories (...although I was disappointed that it did not come with a harpoon and marlin spike). In any event, it's certainly a compelling price to performance ratio, relative to the competition in its category.
That is...until the T10 arrived on the scene. On boy...the T10 really sets a high bar. However, I do think they need to onboard a designer that lacks color blindness. For sure, the only downside to the T10 is its anemic color choice. Aside from its basic construction materials, in every other meaningful category (i.e., sound quality/performance/tuning, size/fitment, weight) the T10 is topping the charts below $300, imho.
If ARTTI released special editions of the T10 in different colors, I think they would sell even more of these little IEM's... like hotcakes. Simply bring on some colors and finishings that improve its appearance. Same materials, same tuning, same design dimensions. NO CHANGE to its USP...the sound!

WTF what about the Timeless AE? It's the new version of the timeless? Exactly the same but with significantly more bass? They literally answered your only complaint about the timeless and you ignore it.
@@davidwalker4039 the Timeless AE isn’t new. And I am well aware of the bass boost on that set. This comp was between the “old guard” original releases and the newer releases. I didn’t “ignore” the AE. It’s a retune and a collab and therefore not pertinent to my comparison. Sounds like you like them though, so apologies if irked you by leaving them out. I hear they are quite good actually.
I EQ S12pro , (-1db) at 1k & 8k (Dan’s audio EQ tip) , sound really good. Planers r eq friendly so worth in my collection. Although the s12pro signature is spicy its still unique for me.
Well done sir ;) and perfect timing (unintended pun) as I was listening to Timeless last night on my walk - have owned mine for a couple of years now, still impresses - and I promised myself that I wouldn't trod down the planar path until something came along that would REALLY present a different/upgraded offering in the planar genre... and then reviews of the T10 started emerging... and now I'm intrigued by it. My question for you sir - having owned/loved the Timeless for the past two years, do you think I'd notice a noticeable difference in the tuning, timbre, imaging, stage of the T10... ? Thank you !
Yes. I think you will definitely notice some differences. The T10 does not make the Timeless “look bad” in any way. Frankly that would be impossible. It’s such a good set. Still. But the more “modern” tuning of the T10 stands out and it lacks none of the technical prowess of the Timeless. It’s a low risk/high reward proposition. You really should hear it for yourself. Especially since you know the Timeless inside out by now.

I have the T10's, MP 145's, and the venerable S12's. The T10's and S12's take the fitment/size award. The S12 and the MP145 take the materials award (alloy shell). The MP 145 takes the visual quality/design award. The T10 handily takes the price/performance award (incl. case, cable). T10 takes the long listening/comfort session award. T10 takes the ugly award...thank goodness it's only skin deep and not to the bone!
In terms of listening preference:
MP145, closely followed by T10...too close to call. Photo finish on this call.
S12 is still a banger...but a little bright on certain tracks. Easily EQ'd.
Awesome! “Ugly award” lol. So true. I actually reached out to them about the design, but was told there are no plans to update it at the moment. I need to get my hands on the MP145. People seem to really like it.

i end up getting the 7hz sonus. i know i've been asking about the zero red and the t10 but the zero red is no longer available for 23 dollars now is 32 vs the 30 dollars for the t10 and didn't get the t10 because of the power thing. hopelly the sonus will sufice i know you like it too, it kind a graphs the same as the t10 with less bass.
yeah you're gonna be fine with that set. I really like the Sonus. And even though it doesn't have as much bass as the t10 or zero red, what it does have is really nice. let me know how you like it!

Azla Crystal tips. Med grade latex I believe.

Thank you!! I will go with the Artti T10 over the LM. Just make sure you have a source powerful enough to bring them fully to life. And opt for the 4.4mm balanced cable if you can. They are power hungry. But they are so damn good.

What about the fiio ka11? Can it drive T10 to its maximal potential at a budget? It offers 200mW at $30. Or are there planars with better drivability under $100 than T10 as I've heard that most planars are the same S12 clones just tuned different and different shell housing.
Always during the pursue of musical variety always recommend something of a side category to those genres you might not incline to, for example the k pop you might not enjoy that much is deeply linked to jpop. Jpop having much more variety and roots in a ray of different genres, creates a more viable access to oriental oriented music. Would recommend ny based japanese band Cibo Matto!!! (Sugar Water, or Birthday Cake for example), who knows, that might lead to other oriental figures.

But why it needs so much power ?
Although on dongle like EPZ TP50 i need around 80/100 volume . I mean loudness is there but that "impact" of bass is not there.

Yes. That makes sense. I was running it on powered desktop Dac amps. The K11 feeds up to 1400mW on balanced. The reason is that it is a low sensitivity iem. All of 96dB. The math is weird, but apparently it takes around twice as much power to get the best out of it vs a set that is over 100dB. I did notice it was more subdued on my dongle dacs. Still really good, but not as vibrant. I emailed Artti about this (trying to get them to do a collab with me lol) and suggested that a new iteration should be at least 104dB with that driver, among other upgrades…I did get a nice response, but there are no plans to revise the set anytime soon. Maybe in the future…

First question between the stock tips for the t10 which ones do you recommend the normal or the wide bore?and do you have any other tips to recommend other than the stock and the sedna tips?

First of all thank you for watching and for your inquiries. I feel like the T10 benefits the most from wider bore tips, mostly because it has bass to spare. I use the Tri Clarion tips with it along with the azlas both Xelastic and Crystal. The Tri tips are much less expensive and provide a very close experience to the Azlas and they don’t “stick” as much or pick up as much earwax. Yeah I know, but even if you have good “eargiene” if there’s any wax in there at all, it will adhere to the Azlas.
So for $200 IEMs that I am eyeing, the Simgot EA1000 Fermat is on the list. Another older iem from Kinera that I want to try is the DD/BA/EST Hodur which is $300, but gets down to $200 during sales cycles on Ali (I really had to force myself to wait this time around lol). And I do have a review set of the Myer Audio SL41 on its way and I’m really looking forward to that! With the sets that I have, or have tried - Quintet, Chopin, Yume Ultra, CKLVX D41, Kato, Idun 2, and Timeless, I feel like I have a decent grasp of that price bracket, but yes those 3 sets are what I am eyeing based on other sets of theirs I have tried. Of course any suggestions you might have would be most welcome!
Oh and I forgot the P5 which is another stellar set for $200, but all that makes me want to do is buy the $400 P8! lol!

It is my sense of humor. Of course I recommend it! It is phenomenal!!! I was just saying that if it was this person’s first iem, he might have some trouble finding another iem that is as good as the T10. It was my way of giving my highest compliment to that set. Sorry if it was a bit confusing…
Try dunu s and s on the s12 pro, the xelastec soften the bass.
Oh I have. and I know. nothing is going to cool off that treble though, not without messing up the rest of the frequency response. Don't get me wrong, I really do like the set. It was my first and it will always have a place in my collection.

@@BassDad8 dude - I'm freaked out! I was playing with mods and a/b'ing them against my cleanest sounding sets, and they kept winning. It occurred to me that the sound was very familiar, so I got out the T10. I literally sat there listening to them back to back for hours when I should have been sleeping. I opted to keep the EDx in since they are more comfortable for sleeping. Woke up and thought I had the T10s in. Lol. Put the T10 back on, they are currently in my ears. I'm not saying that the EDx is just as good, still haven't decided, but they are ridiculously close. They have a slighity thicker, more impactful bass, which may make them slightly less detailed. T10 is slightly smoother, softer. Tanya filter made them very thick, still good but lost some of the magic. 350 really brought out the bass, sounded amazing but I'm on the fence on if it changed the signature too much. I'm going to do a few other mods to see if I can sharpen up the bass a a bit without adding quantity. Then I'm gonna work on my og EDx PRO to see if I can a basshead level match.
Got the EDX back in. Maybe I just got lucky, but I don't think so. Look at Music Cafe's squig S12/EDx. Not quite ready to get struck down by the planar gods or the audiophile mob, but I'm starting to think I prefer the EDx due to the bass 😮 DD bass is just hard to beat. Also, I don't listen to metal so you'll have to tell me how they do 😜 I do listen to a lot of EDM, former raver. Check out Chainsmokers Live at Tommorowland 2023. The intro has a lot of details that can be missed on less detailed sets.

That’s a heck of a line up and literally could be someone’s top 5. Being that I have only tried 2 of them, I can only give you a rec based on that. Quintet>Nova. It is more detailed and more neutral in its tuning. But that’s strictly a performance-based comp. A friend of mine says the EA1000 is the best single DD he has ever experienced, and the MP145 gets a lot of love. I guess it would really depend on your tolerance for treble as well, as planars can get hot and spicy up top. My friend is sending me the EA1000 for review sometime soon and I plan on picking up the SM4 soon as well. But as of now, the Nova and Quintet are my only known quantities, so… it’s gotta be the Quintet at this moment.

I think everyone should have a planar I their collection. You won't know if you like it until you've heard it yourself. Sounds like you will enjoy it! I had to adjust to the high end, so glad I did!
@@aarvpaul8242 hey! The supermix4 review is up and I am in progress with the EA1000 at the moment. I think either would be a good choice, but I just slightly prefer the SM4. You just have to be prepared with some ear tips that you like as it only comes with one set and they’re not the best. The EA1000 is impressive tho. Hard to go wrong with either, honestly.
