How did you celebrate your Easter as a child, if you did? Decorating or hunting?
We went egg hunting! Lots of the times did the eggs not only contain candy but money as well. Last time I went egg hunting I got $19 in total.
Around 1st grade my school held activities like painting eggs and hunting them. I think that finding the hidden eggs is still one of my favorite memories.
I usually went to supper at my aunt’s house!
Our neighborhood had a big easter egg hunt in the park for all the kids. There was also an egg decorating contest!
I think we did Easter egg hunts? I remember going to church services in the morning.
(my family was the type who only went on Christmas eve and Easter).
It’s genuinely really sad when you realize how often Jonah was alone as a child, his mom isn’t completely innocent either as Jonah was very obviously neglected and left alone ALOT. So much so that I full heartedly believe Gabriel raised him more than his parents did. Hell he was left alone on EASTER, a day meant to celebrate with family, but instead he’s just…alone, alone with Gabriel.
And Francis for what that's worth.

Gabby dealing with Francis while trying to give Jonah attention is such a "Teacher trying to work with students but one of them keeps eating the glue" feeling, it made me snort.
EATING THE GLUE-
Francis seems a LOT more self aware now, not counting the fan mail which I take as non-canon, Francis has always strictly followed the plot, continuing with his lines even when Gabby flew away from the scene to be alone with Jonah. This tells me that, at some point, Francis became more self aware, and that may be because of whatever the dark bunny is.

How does Francis manage to paint the unholiest of eggs? Gabby slowly losing her patience with him, while trying to juggle between him and Jonah made me laugh. 😭 I don't celebrate Easter anymore, but this was a lovely surprise.
Which is..kinda strange? In the older videos, gabby always ignores Francis in favor of Jonah, but now she Is paying more attention to him for painting those macabre eggs
I saw someone theorize that Francis is a repentant demon. An angel who lost his wings, but seeks to earn them back by helping out other angels. The unholy eggs definitely back that up. He's doing his best to be gentle, but the demon habits remain.

I really love this take on christian mythology. Gabby is utterly, truly benign, but also kind of terrifying, harsh, and merciless. The horror isn’t that an elder being wants your soul, it’s the surrealness of a strange, impossibly powerful being existing, and yet being genuinely good… yet also being fairly brutal in her justice, and clearly following her own odd, angelic morality and plan. Good, frightening stuff.

I'm glad people understand that Gabby is good at her heart. It seems that some people are so locked into the "supernatural creature = bad" mentality that there's no room to consider a being that actually is there purely to help.
Im enjoying how Francis is developing over the series. His fixation on pagen symbols and demonology from seemingly just a curiosity angle is really fun, especially for a series like this, and seeing Gabriel have to juggle two kids at once is also pretty fun. Especially since we're starting to see her flaws coming to the surface, between how it effects both Francis and Jonah.

She mentions that someone was willing to die for Jonah, then is completely missing at the end. Does that mean she died to protect Jonah? But she was present in the stream earlier, so she died specifically to protect an adult Jonah?
I think this series is about escapism and the desire to return to feelings of childhood (On top of the other themes I might not grasp as easily), so maybe it's less that she died, but more decided she didn't want Jonah to effectively regress to relying on her, so she's hiding? That's just my interpretation.
The description of this video, in my opinion, is very telling. The expectations are set that Gabby can always come back, "Nothing has to change". But I think that's an overarching theme of the series. Things have to change. Things have to be lost, we won't always remember every detail we want to, and the feelings we got from childhood are usually only replicable in small doses. In a way, I think the version of Gabby that can talk, the one that isn't just a recording, represents childhood in the abstract, whereas the recordings represent childhood in the literal. In the same way watching a cartoon you saw as a kid can give a sense of nostalgia, but can't bring anything back. The "live" Gabby is the thing Jonah wants to bring back so desperately.
The way Gabby reacted when first brought back into the livestream was so sweet, but I think was also intentionally very sparse. A single scene in the last video, and nothing now. It reminds me of how going back to a childhood location, talking to an old friend, etc, can bring back *some* of those childhood feelings. But they simply don't last.
Sorry if this is a bit rambly. I'm not necessarily trying to make some bigger point, just my thoughts.
I hope the series isn't over, but I do think, if this is the ending, it'd be very thematically appropriate. Childhood always ends before you can ever prepare for it to.

I kinda feel like maybe Francis is the demon, after all he specifically said in the letters that if you see a magic being then run in the other direction. I think Francis might of been possessed in that video by a demon and that is why he is so self aware. (I have not watched the other videos yet so I might be wrong)
Just when Jonah's situation was (semi) normal, fate throws him a new, cruel curveball.
The running joke of Gabby getting more and more upset with Francis and the designs he painted on his eggs was such a great choice!

Gabby's disappearance is a bit concerning, especially considering the shadow hare from Tape 6's ending. Combine that with the description implying that Jonah's apparent happy ending at the end of Tape 6 seems to have just been the start of him regressing into some SERIOUSLY unhealthy coping habits, and I'm beginning to wonder if the shadow hare is either fueled by those unhealthy habits or if Gabby's realized that interacting with Jonah is doing him more harm than good and is avoiding him to keep him safe? It's probably something more sinister than that, but I want to have faith that Gabby's doing what she thinks is best.

What if the shadow was Jonah’s missing father?
The 3 eggs have been bothering me since I saw them, yet I think I've also came up with a crazy theory relating to them and everything we've seen so far.
Note, this will have stuff tied to later in the series, so read ahead at your own peril!
The first being the well known Ouroboros, an infinite cycle.
The second being the crossed out hare with rain.
The third being a dead or possible fallen hare.
I see first egg being representative of the first act, when Jonah was a kid. An entity tempted him into violating a rule of god. In this case Gabby tempted Jonah to harm another human from what we can tell so far.
The second egg should be the 2nd act, where a Flood happened and Jonah was separated from Gabby. The rain is an obvious connect and fits with Noah's Ark as by flooding the world God was acting to restore the goodness of his creation. Freeing Jonah from the incidents but also possibly doing the same for Gabby.
The third egg has multiple descriptions, but the only one I can't struggle with is the notion that Gabby is a fallen angel or Zag is a Demon Hare. If the picture Francis drew implies ascending to a higher rank then Zag shouldn't need to search for her. (Or human error happened or I'm missing something) Zag needs the broadcast running to see in here. So the tapes are like a prison in a way. It also goes back to the first point of an infinite cycle as Gabby was potentially sinful before. So she has either damned herself or was fallen.
That or Gabby is doomed.
Sorry for this wall of text, but the eggs have caught my attention so hard that I can't help but speculate and I feel like sharing this sooner then later is smart.
If I was in Jonah's position I'd find a pastor or someone who would be willing to watch the tapes and ask if it is a good idea to continue searching for Gabby.
But great work on this series, I love it regardless of these theories of mine.

Not sure if you'll see it, I just found about the whole Angel Gabby series, and I absolutely loved it! Obviously I hope you don't feel stuck with it if it blows up/becomes popular, but I have to admit I'm glad you're still doing things with Gabby/this series sometimes, it was wholesome and it made me feel fuzzy. I hope you keep doing cool things in the future, Angel Gabby or not!

So I just finished watching the full series after Sagan Hawkes recommended it, and I adored every second. It's a shame it's so short, but the additional content is nice and I understand it's the story ya'll wanted tell. Bravo, abaolutely marvelous!

The love that went into this project really shines through and I had so much fun pausing to absorb little details and at the end I could only sit here and speculate on the details left intentionally vague...which is part of the fun!

i find it so funny that francis keeps making unholy eggs but i feel like the best part is the unintended humor of "see now your hands are going to stay that colour." you know exactly what happened just from the words
I love how sly Gabby is, she specifically says that instead of going by a Mesopotamian metaphor for the divine trinity, she strictly wants something else than that. It shows a lot of subtle manipulation on her part on gaining the trust of the viewer, making them feel secure while getting what she wants
I also like how symbolically Gabby discards Francis’s own personal meaning. In a way the egg he painted represented his devotion towards her. The ouroboros is a greccian symbol of reacurring life that depicts a snake eating its own tail, which is the exact same symbol Francis paints. You could interpret the ouroboros reflects Francis’s value of life, and the number 8, a holy number of personal power, can be interpreted as his devotion to Gabby. The fact she discarded that shows where her true values lie. His second egg my describe his feeling of rejection towards his perceived savior

Francis seems to be gaining conscious cuz in previous ep he stayed on script even when gabby left talking to her like her was still there or continuing the Canon conversations without her but now hes aware throwing out eggs which i think gabby deems inappropriate for Jonah or not relevant and him continuing to call out her name instead of going on like shes there

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but as an agnostic (borderline atheist) that used to be Christian, this series really digs back at the feelings my youth gave me. I left naturally and with no personal ill will and I freaking loved my old church. Just felt like this series really tapped into those times again, as well as the comfort within the lonely times. Fantastic series :)

it’s so fun to come to different conclusions at the end of every tape, not knowing what to expect for the next. francis the badger becoming more sentient and going against the cartoon and creating occult and satanist drawings is really interesting. then that part at the end, when Angel Gabby wasn’t there… so intriguing!! for some reason, I’m called back to a childhood memory when I went on a trip out on the Texas prairie and saw a badger carrying a dead bunny. francis the badger probably isn’t going to harm angel gabby like that, but I love how the series brings viewers back to their own childhoods. such immersive and fantastic work!
Semi-new viewer here! I've been rewatching the first season of this series for the second time and i just wanna throw this out there-
Angel Gabby is a unique character to me partly because while she appears as a small, skrunkly cutesy cartoon character on the surface, she also manages to be a firm but gentle motherly figure to Jonah- I'd say she strikes a perfect balance between the two roles!
I just love how well on display that characterization is here and seeing how she interacts with both Jonah and Fran. So genuinely wholesome my heart can't take this ahhh 😭 I swear I need to catch up on the 2nd season and SOON.
Anyways enough gushing outta me, I really hope this series get more of the positive attention it deserves!

a part of Gabby's character I like is that, even when she's completely breaking Kayfabe, she still sounds prerecorded, as if she rehearses her conversations in her head. Which I find both endearing and relatable.
