The drain really was horrible 0:05 1:05 is that unusual? I don’t remember seeing such a mix. Stock movement just? 6:20 is wonderfully atmospheric!! BR in the rain. It’s how its meant to be remembered 😂 10:27 there’s a great heritage shot. Wow. Never did see a 26 in operation Being a southern region person Dorking/Waterloo/Victoria mostly I never saw the 8x class locos working (except my Lima OO gauge 87 😂). Or if we travelled up north alongside the M1 if I was lucky. I had no idea they were so noisy!! My goodness look at those carriages rock 17:56 (almost oscillating!) that’s some old track there!!! It’s hard to watch this wonderful video and not yearn for those days. Just so busy and varied and wonderfully grubby and noisy. It’s the reason we all loved trains.
Class 37 was my favourite locomotive when I was a fireman out of eastfield traction depot Glasgow 1974 if I was on shift with my uncle Jim Matthew he used to let me drive part of the west highland line from queen street station to Oban
Fantastic rare footage of the class 82 and 83 in their final days! Also you managed to catch both 82008 and 83012 which are the sole survivors of their class! Brilliant :-)
Brilliant video when locomotives where designed and built in the UK not like we have now, just a load of foreign crap, and that was due to a certain government in the eighties who destroyed our manufacturing and engineering base
Me too! Brian Hancock has more, also try Trevor Ledgeway and MrDeltic15. If you go to my account and can open my favourites you will find playlists of 1980s films

Nice video! I really miss seeing the 08s shunting around stations. Does anyone know where I can find more videos of that?
