- Púca Festival 2020: where the Halloween's story began
Join us for the world premiere of The Lighting of the Samhain Fires, a short film celebrating Ireland’s authentic claim to be the original birthplace of Halloween.
In this film, Púca Festival has recreated the ancient tradition of lighting the first fires of the Celtic new year on the Hill of Ward in County Meath.
At the Hill of Ward, the five ancient provinces of Ireland are represented and symbolically reunited in flame. Watch a contemporary reimagining of the Samhain Fires, designed by the Street Theatre Company ‘Luxe’, with accompanying new music by Matthew Nolan, Stephen Shannon and Sive.
‘Our Darkest Night’ is a wonderful new poem written and performed especially for Halloween 2020 by Stephen James Smith. The performance will come to a spectacular climax with the iconic lighting of the Samhain fires, bringing to close an ethereal night of authentic Halloween magic for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their homes this Halloween night.

Unfortunately, due to the impact of COVID-19, Fáilte Ireland and festival partners Meath County Council and Louth County Council have made the difficult but unavoidable decision to suspend the Púca Festival for 2020. We hope you will join us from home wherever you are in the world and we look forward to welcoming you back to our Festival in 2021.
Thanks for having me involved!

Why is Puca the main focus?
Beautiful! I was supposed to be there right now. Covid had other ideas. Hopefully, another year...
Happy Puca when you can go there.
Is there any more live stream or? This is amazing btw
Hello! This is the full video. Glad to hear you've enjoyed it!
Does anyone know the name of the soundtrack to this video
Not sure but I recognise SIVE singing
You all need Christ!
Actually, Christ and Krishna are the same but in different forms. Hail the Gods.
I think they were hoping for a "sacrifice" last night with no crowd management cancelled events misdirected crowds no communication.... There was children and elderly people left in very dangerous situations with no help from the organisers, I will never support this event again, I will be sure to let as many people as possible know how bad it was
@@vijaykumarnadaraja531 your krishna is a demon
@@catL156 Hi there, your feedback is very important to us. Please direct your query to info@pucafestival.com and a member of the team will be in touch.
@@vijaykumarnadaraja531No, they are not.
Jesus was a man who existed in Jerusalem in the first century, founder of the Catholic Church. They are not the same
Halloween is celebrated every day in hell for the go-d of this pagan celebration: sat-an. For those who think this is all just good clean fun - be warned.
that's just some middle eastern bullshit religion
Oh it’s just too scary to word out satan on your smartphone Jesus would salute you for that dash my friend f**k sat-an (just got some heaven points)
Shut the hell up, satan doesnt exist in irish mythology. Samhain was about welcoming the dead as they enter our world and celebrating them
