Hi Charles. Peter from Noosa Australia. What an exciting painting. Right up my alley. Thanks for bringing the painting to life by your application and techniques. Have just tried them for myself and YES I get it. This painting and the colours are similar to our Australian colours. I have got soo much fun and pleasure from this video. Thanks, if I may be so bold. Please keep them coming. Many thanks. Peter Butler.
Thank you again Charles and Gail. I have been watching this video! Just home from my bike ride and mind made up to paint trees, as I watched you paint them yesterday. Wanted to refresh my mind (poor old girl!) and have been enthralled by this lesson. I took lots of ref photos on my ride..... We can but try, and enjoy the process. My thanks again...
Well never thought I would do acrylics, but am giving them a try. You are the easiest instructor to follow for me. I want to paint an old scroll but on paper to use In a heritage scrapbook! I saw you video that shows it can be done. Thank You!!
@@charlesevans7706 oh for sure 😃. The image I saw that compelled me to do acrylics was a witch in a broomstick highlighted over a moon. It is that time the year after all. Her instructions are easy to follow as you are. Anyway you are my "go to resource" for technical support. Her name is Michelle Paint and Sip or Michelle the painter. Hope all is well with you and your government! Ours is a cluster eff! Hahaha 😸
Just when you think it can’t get any better! You get Better.❤️🩹 Great camera work Gail, Big fan of you both. Thank You for always calming our minds with painting in this Crazy world 🙏🏼
Thank you for this video. It is the third time I have painted in acrylics and I painted along with this one. It turned out okay. Great fun. Many thanks
I always enjoy watching you paint or watercolor! You have inspired me many times. I have quite a few nice watercolors from painting along with you. Thank you CharlesI will definitely be trying this one!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial Charles, the painting is stunning, thanks for all your wonderful tutorials, I would just like to wish you and your family a wonderful safe Christmas,. 👏👏👏👏😘😘😘
Thank you for this beautiful tutorial. I am so impressed with your wonderful tree and I am on a mission to attempt it. I am really enjoying watching your tutorials and have been inspired to try my hand again. Thank you:))
Hi Charles. Another beautiful painting. Thank you. I loved your comment about oast houses. It’s the sort of thing that I would say, even though my dad was a brewer. Incidentally the word oast is another word for kiln which is for baking or drying. Thanks for another fabulous tutorial. Love to you has to Gail. - Dawn 🌅
Just come back in after a day sketching in St. Fagans in Cardiff no better way to finish off the day than to watch you doing a demo. Have a good Christmas. Phil.
Love to watch you paint Charles but could reposition the anglepoise lamp because I can see the glare of the lamp on the wet paint? Top notch work and please keep them coming.☝
If you prep paper with either gesso or just a coat of acrylic (white or whatever color you like) it behaves better. My favorite surface are the melamine or canvas panels depending on the tooth I want.
Another stunning painting. Your videos throughout this pandemic have been a God send. Also, thank you to your lovely wife for doing such a great job with the camera. Have to ask. After filming all these beautiful paintings and seeing how easy you make all these techniques, has Gail ever been tempted to pick up the brushes and have a go?
Great and inspiring as always. Really enjoyed it. The things that scare me about watercolour, and have actually stopped me from trying them (crazy … I know) are: Too much water/not enough water Too much bleed/not enough bleed Putting colour on the paper and discovering it’s far too dark and perhaps stained the paper Mainly it’s the panic of not knowing how the paint is going to react to the amount of water on the paper or in the brush. I suppose I’ll only learn that by actually trying it Doh! 😊 Thanks again for all your encouraging content. 👍
@@charlesevans7706 absolutely. I’m going to dig out and old watercolour pad tomorrow and give it a go. If I find it’s not disgustingly bad then I’ll purchase some new paper and dive right in. 😊👍
Another lovely painting, I've noticed you can buy water based oil paints which sounds odd, have you used them? Are they similar to acrylics or a bit gimmicky? I've recently acquired two of your books ,nice references ,have a nice xmas

thank you charles for the lovely pic. I copied almost every your watercolor painting foollowing your youtube tutorial.would like to have a go for acrylic. thank you.
Hey, C. Evans, I tried to use your lil trick, the one where you use a credit card to create a “pile of rocks with perfect shadow,” yup, I tried that technique to save time when painting stone walls and cottages, it doesn’t work. You’re the trick master, can you help, do you have any suggestions? Thanks..

That is brilliant Charles, thank you for the excellent lesson. I am using the Daler Rowney Student brushes, will they stand that sort of treatment.

Hi, yes I always use system3, it’s all on my website.
I can’t get the pencil to work on top of the paint. Help?
Don’t press on too hard with the pencil. I make the outline so everyone can see it!
@@charlesevans7706 thanks. I was using a mechanical pencil and I think that’s the difference.
How do you clean waste water
Posit away and get some clean!!

The paint should be fairly thick and strong, but still wet. And press on hard with the card!
Absolutely brilliant, painting along, thanks Charles and Gail!
