I agree with everything said. Moved here in 2021 but from another city in TX. I love the food here. And you’re correct, it’s diverse in numbers but people do vibe with their own. But overall I love it.
Sadly so. It's not necessarily a melting pot that interacts, except for Alief. That truly is a melting pot in Houston.😊
Great video !! Love it when you said “it’s not 100 everyday” lol. I feel the variations in temp would make it actually more workable
Thank you! Today is 57 degrees. Yesterday was 87 degrees. The weather is very up and down but still warmer then most places in America so Ill take it!
60 sounds great. I'm tired of getting snowed in every year.
I feel you😂
Im from NJ and im moving to Houston in a few months I am actually excited but I enjoyed your video give me a Idea what to look out for
Nice! Goodluck with your move. Make sure you check out the Houston playlist.
loving hair! pls share details :)
As a native Houstonian, you have described Houston well.
Thank you!!!
I have notice the same thing here at work, even though it's diverse but separation
Thinking of moving to Houston but worried about flooding and crime..
It floods when it rains and crime is going up but both depend on where you choose to stay.
You should consider the humidity and six months of hurricane season as well.
@@a.crouch2303 exactly. Texas and Florida should be last on anybody’s list to move to lmaoo. I’m a Florida native and I warn so many lost lost people and crazy people with rose colored glasses on.
@@Fourwindsofsuccess it’s not a bad idea Houston Is a great place to live. Who gives a finuck
She said being outside is expensive 😂😂😂😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
People need to stop with the Texas is cheap stuff cause its not. Yes its cheaper than Cali but not for the midwest. Yes there is no state income tax but you'll make up for that with rent, high property taxes, and high home and auto insurance. Also with Houston you have to keep in mind the floods and hurricanes they get there. People shouldn't rely too much on youtube videos, articles and "where everyone is headed to" and really research these places before moving to them.
It’s many parts of the area that don’t flood. You have to do your research.
@@rwall3450 Well of coarse certain parts don't flood but you need to RESEARCH the areas that do flood or have flooded in the past so yes people need to RESEARCH.
I’m here in Houston since 2021… I loved the vibe here however there are some disadvantages when living a city this big & spread out.
Yes the size can be overwhelming. Its the major reason why Nnena(my twin) doesnt want to move here. But I love it nonetheless!
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi I’m having issues finding a decent job atp… smh.
I’m sorry, but no area in the US is the move. I would consider moving overseas! ❤
Bye Felicia
Interesting perspective but people are wishing to come to America. I have learned that no place(country) is perfect and to try and make the best of where I am.
They are wishing to come because they still don’t know how shitty it is.
is the rent advertised on Zillow a rip off?? I've been seeing the price start around 1k 1,200ish
That sounds about right
Ejima- I enjoy your videos. Do you prefer Houston or New Jersey? I am from New Jersey so I’m
Interested In your response.
New Jersey will always be home but I definitely prefer Houston! There is more to do, better weather, and lower cost of living. Hope your subscribed and check out our Houston playlist for more videos like this about my experience living in Houston, Texas so far!
omg you did not lie about the amber alerts 😩😩😩 who needs an alarm at this point? subscribed! ❤
Yes girllll. Thanks for subscribing. See you in Houston soon ❤️❤️
So the question is, are you content and will you make Houston your long-term or forever home?
Im content for now but cant commit to Houston being my forever home yet!
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi that’s a bummer love. Believe those amber alerts are a thing: me as a native Sugar land has a great diverse culture and Richmond. Really depends on where you choose to live at but yes love I appreciate your content gives me ideas to help others that may feel like there’s no one here. You should visit some diverse churches that’ll help too
Native houstonian, there’s some cheap taco trucks on every corner! But yeah clubs are expensive and you need to find a good dive bar, that’s where there’s drink specials and good food and everyone hangs out with everyone, no segregation there. Good luck 😊
girl i moved from boston lasted 6 months lol and came back . no hate its a beautiful city just not for me
Really? You prefer Boston to Houston? Im assuming your friends and family are in Boston. What didnt you like about Houston?
Beautiful? Which part? That city is just concrete everywhere. I cant see beauty in that.
I’m trying to leave mass to go to Houston. Why didn’t you like Houston
Sounds like California weird weather
crazy my rent $785 it all depends on where you live
wow are you renting a room or living in a studio apartment? Thats very affordable!
News confirmed that there are now more transplants than native Houstonians.
I think I saw that. People love Houston!!
I think it's the areas you go to as far as diversity..I haven't really been to any all black spots but I am in the Katy area and just randomly go to places. Don't really care who is there..maybe because I am black and from New Orleans so I am not impressed with all black everything because I grew up around all black everything lol
Thats a fair assessment!
I grew up around diversity in Florida. So I am not a all black person. I prefer diversity over one specific culture.
I moved there from New Jersey I stayed 10 years I didn’t like it I’m back in New Jersey
Only been here for 2 months from
NY and I’m ready to throw in the towel
@@1222cincin where in Houston or New Jersey?
@@1222cincin I work in NY now but live back in NJ Houston boring Asf I don’t regret going cause I went to school there got my bachelor and master degree there but I’m never moving back I was depressed the whole time I stayed
@@jasminearcher7241 Katy made it even worse dry and boring and far, I feel
Like i have to dirve far for everything
@@1222cincin it’s so boring omg I know how you feel I’m sorry 😢
What about Dallas?
Dallas is now very expensive unless you move in the fall or winter.
Cleaner and less diverse than Houston. Slightly richer city and more expensive than Houston.
I’m in a very nice area like rich area and my rent is a little less than $1,000 my view outside my window is rich people driving Benz and huge houses…. I was watching videos like this before I took my leap of faith and rlly it’s nothing but negativity. After watching everyone talk on UA-cam it wasn’t doing nothing but making me not want to move. BUT I MOVED AND MY RENT IS UNDER $1000 and there’s lots of places out here where y’all can bag the same 👍🏽
In the city of Houston?
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi very much so Houston Tx midtown area
Hey girl I’m moving in a month from PA with my fam I’m so nervous can we connect? What’s your ig?
@@Ischic77 I was nervous too I moved with my son. I just packed my car up and said let’s get it and hit the road running. So many opportunities for success here I need to make a video bc I got so much to say that nobody is actually saying in these MOVE to TX vids.
@@BeautifullyMade515this is great info. Can you please share more deets about this?
Texas is getting so expensive
It sure is! I tell people all the time Houston is not "cheap" anymore!
I would like to know what the dating scene is like in Houston for black men. What do the black women look for living in Houston TX
Off the chain !!! Ratio 8 women to one guy. And they friendly and not stuck up like up north girls
Where did you get that number from? Dont want to spread incorrect information on this platform.
@@freddyb.god1sttheexperienc455😂😂😂😂😂😂 that number is incorrect! In Houston the men outnumber the women. In Texas overall is about 1:1 but due to the industries in Houston and San Antonio those cities heavily outnumber women.
Overall if you’re going to move to Houston, you have to have a network (where you went to college and grad school, fraternity/sorority connections and who your family has ties with). That will dictate the type of women you encounter. Also note, ppl in Texas especially black people have real money and real assets. $100k is laughable in certain circles. Be authentic and you won’t have any issues meeting people.
Is it violent or racist?
That hasnt been my experience
Any popular spot thats "Indmix" will cost you lol.... The diversity is just in numbers, not in real unity either especially in food, partying, etc
