Great video! It got me thinking about whether Carolyn knows the whole process for turning on the VHF. She said of course she did. But she didn't. She got everything right, including the VHF breaker, but forgot to send power from the main panel to the nav desk panel, where the VHF breaker is located. So, you see, you really can't stop making videos. Lives may depend upon them! Thanks for another wonderful vid. Happy sails.

Oh wow great story hard to believe people can do things like that an get in trouble with no radios and lady on board not knowing basics of radio....you guys rock and please don't stop your video. I watched you guys so much during your refit and dYI. Kept doing doesn't matter it it's supper informative or maybe boring sometimes. Who cares my vessel TeAta is on the hard because I found out I have blood cancer multiple myeloma. So watching videos that are down to earth gets me through and keeps my spirits up to work to get her back in the water . Bz on the amazing rescue and going above and beyond to help these crew people. It seemed like alot was not that interested in helping. Thank you for doing the right thing.
Your the type of crew that I would sail beside any day. God bless and fair winds in your new adventures. Garland barney Shediac Cape, New Brunswick Canada ❤

Hi Garland - Thank you for the kind words and for watching. We're always curious as to who watches our videos. I'm so sorry to hear about your cancer. I hope your treatment is going well and you can get back out on the water some day soon. What type of boat do you have?
I gotta say we were pretty surprised that no one else in the anchorage knew what was going on and once they knew they weren't all that keen to help out. I'm glad to say we didn't hesitate to help when she said she needed it. I hope if we ever need help there will be someone nearby who's willing. God bless you too and take care!

I do hope you continue making videos. You've got one of the best sailing channels on UA-cam, and your video content has made a good transition from DIY to travelling style. I honestly don't know why you don't have a LOT more subscribers and views. I'm sure that making videos has taken something away from your own enjoyment of being out sailing, visiting new places, and meeting new people. Whatever you decide, thank you for making the videos you've already shared. Fair winds.

Thanks so much for your comment! We have a handful of people who comment regularly and we're always happy to hear what you have to say. The YT algorithm has us flummoxed 🤷‍♀️.

Although we’ve been coming up to Owl Harbor for a couple years, I didn’t know you had a UA-cam channel until a couple of weeks ago. Been fun binge watching. Rich & Wendy SV Balaena.

Don’t quit making videos. That is one of my biggest fears is something happens to me and my wife doesn’t know what to do. Btw I teased you guys about your battleship windlass. Mine broke and dropped 250’ of chain and a 75 lb anchor that had to be hand hauled twice. Powerboat so no winches. Rigged a raising system 2’ at a time. No more teasing about windlass. I’m in the battleship windlass club now.

I know little about vacquita other than what I've read on wiki and a couple of articles. According to wikipedia, 2024 survey is between 6 to 8 individuals. If you encountered a larger pod, that's a huge deal! Keep making vids!

Not positive they were the vacquita, but they did look very small. Could have been a large pod with a bunch of baby dolphins I guess.

@@svrambleon I have seen several nursery pods off Southern California. Usually they will have adult dolphins swimming amongst them. Still a notable sighting either way.

Quite an adventure with the rescue.... good on you guys. Makes me want to upgrade my medical emergency kit which is primarily whiskey and pain killers - kidding. I also jigged that anchorage, but in July and kept catching 4' foot sharks so I stopped. After analyzing tides and winds and..... to avoid a strong current on the nose going into San Fransquito... I still screwed up and had the bounciest 30 minutes of my 3 years in the SOC making the turn from south into the bay. I could not stand at the helm it was so bad. 20kts of wind against a 3 or 4 kt oppossing tide, what a shit show.

Oof, sounds terrible. The current in that area can be crazy for sure.
