They really don't seem to have depreciated all that much as it is. At around $50,000 It's still way unattainable for me at least. I've seen older Audi TT RS's go for almost half that.
Nice to see you drive that car. Btw it actually doesn't have the 1.4 litre Fiat Abarth engine. It has the 1.75 TBi also found in the Giulietta QV and also the 159. Sadly the engine is not offered anymore here in Germany because of emissions regulations

When you are driving this amazing car, you not worried about manual. It's the first automatic car I've bought by the way. I normally hate paddles.
This specific engine is also been used in the newer giulietta qv's, its has a full alu engine. The steel 1750 is used in the older giulietta qv's, it had 235 hp. The 1750 in the 159, brera, spider and Lancia Delta had a different turbo. That engine made 210 hp
@@saneepeopleonly Apparently, a manual transmission was judged to be poorly matched with the 1.75L turbo engine. For example, the quick shifting TCT keeps the engine boost on boil, while the shift timing (in auto) and shift speed is electronically adjusted to suit whichever Alfa 'DNA' driving mode is selected. It's a pretty slick system.
@@vicaras1 my friend has the suv quadraflico wtv it’s called and he never has it cause it’s always in the shop. Alfa’s are bad cars, right now they are swapping his whole transmission
The engine has absolutely nothing whatsoever in common with the Fiat 500… The Fiat is the 1.4 FIRE engine with Mulitiair. The 4C uses the 1.7 TBi which is a completely different engine.
The 1750TBi is such a great engine. I have it in my Alfa Romeo 159 and it's great. Almost no turbo lag and plenty of power trhough the whole register. They have even used it in asias F3 pushed to 270hp. To bad my car sounds like a vacuum cleaner and not even close to the 4C.
As an owner of this same vehicle, I can attest to the fact that it only behaves well when you treat it badly. It is a car that was designed to be driven like you stole it all the time. Drive it any other way and it bucks, snarls, and shudders like an unhappy lion in cage. It offers you nothing but the joy of driving. However, it gives you that joy like drinking from a fire hose.
They make them quirky. They make them powerful. They make them real pieces of art on wheels. Boy I gotta say, Alfa Romeo makes the most beautiful cars.
Ive loved these cars ever since I sat in one a couple of years back in a dealership - would have bought it on the spot if I had the money then. Buying a new weekend car next year and have the 4C on my shortlist along with: - Elise 111R - Elise Sport 250 - Audi RS5 (V8 version) - Maserati GranTurismo - Porsche 981 Boxter Most raw car on the market though? I would have thought an Elise / Exige/ Caterham would be more raw?
I would suggest everyone in the "but it's not manual!" camp first go and drive one before they comment 😂 If you understand and experienced how edgy and nervous the steering and handling is, paired with the low weight (EU specs cars are 2000lb...) you will understand that a manual would detract from the driving experience in this unique case. The rest of the the raw experience more than makes up for the lack of a clutch pedal... You need both hands on the wheel and 150% concentration AT ALL times or it will try to kill you every chance it gets 😂 I drive mine daily. Pure joy. If there was a high revving N/A engine option like a v6 that would work in manual, but having the torque to weight ratio of a GTR or an early C63AMG with sudden delivery to the back wheels when the boost hits... you will want to have all your reflexes and energy focussed on the job at hand 😉 (And I have manual classic Alfas and race cars so not an auto fan)
If this Alfa were available with a manual gearbox, I would lust after it. But, not only was there no manual, the paddlebox shifts were also reported to be very clunky. For me, even a really good semi-auto is a deal breaker. Gotta have an H-pattern shifter, and the opportunity to enjoy the process of shifting gears, to be a proper driver's car. The decision not to offer a true manual, and the use of this harsh dual-clutch, killed this otherwise fantastic little car.
yeah, I said the SAME thing. Then got to drive one. I think it's the only car I've ever driven that a manual might not make sense. I can't even describe it beyond needing both hands on the wheel when you start to push it and click those video game steering wheel mounted paddles
If only more car companies made cars like these.

Nice to see you drive that car. Btw it actually doesn't have the 1.4 litre Fiat Abarth engine. It has the 1.75 TBi also found in the Giulietta QV and also the 159. Sadly the engine is not offered anymore here in Germany because of emissions regulations
I feel like the 4C is like the FRS/BRZ/Miata of the Mid-Engine world, its not very fast but has an incredible driving experience that you have to work for. I love it
Remember the MR2? This is a carbon fiber DCT italian MR2
Remember the MR2? This is a carbon fiber DCT italian MR2
Except the 4C is faster, handles better and is more exotic than those three. Apples to oranges, I'm afraid.
@@davidturgeon2087 Yeah exactly! It's not direct comparison by any means
I have the Spider in Basalt Grey in my garage waiting to cruise...
Nice. That's a rare colour.
Interesting car! Wouldn’t get it for myself, but it’s very cool.
If I had the money ide buy one and convert it to manual.
@@fortheloveofnoise The list of automatic cars I'd buy is a handful and it features cares like Aventador. If the car is not super extreme, I want a manual. However, I NEVER think about manual when driving the 4C. That would be like dating a supermodel and being bothered by the fact she has no big toe.
That engine made 210 hp
all alfa's have this driver experience focus like no other. Alfa dont care about electronics and lazy stuff, just you and the car.
Except the SUV they have in their line up
So why no manual
@@saneepeopleonly Apparently, a manual transmission was judged to be poorly matched with the 1.75L turbo engine. For example, the quick shifting TCT keeps the engine boost on boil, while the shift timing (in auto) and shift speed is electronically adjusted to suit whichever Alfa 'DNA' driving mode is selected. It's a pretty slick system.
That red paint is BEAUTIFUL ... I’m drooling. 🤤
It’s so cool 4c should be more popular
Thanks for letting me come out David!
Also, be sure to check out the 4C build on my Instagram @N.ck
Your IG is awesome! Congrats on car.
It’s not the same engine. That has a 1.7 turbo, dart and 500 have a 1.4
Some years got 1.6l engines, the 1.75 In the 4C is based on that engine but it bespoke to the Alfa, engine alone is 20k+ from the dealer
He said similar
And both are junk.
If it's a 1.75 it's probably out of the giulietta...(and not based on the 1.4)
@@vicaras1 my friend has the suv quadraflico wtv it’s called and he never has it cause it’s always in the shop. Alfa’s are bad cars, right now they are swapping his whole transmission
My buddy Nick owns this car, cool asf dude, I hope to be driving my stang alongside his Alfa in April on TOTD
The engine has absolutely nothing whatsoever in common with the Fiat 500…
The Fiat is the 1.4 FIRE engine with Mulitiair.
The 4C uses the 1.7 TBi which is a completely different engine.
I was lucky enough to drive a 4C from Roswell NM to Seminole TX and I hit 144mph before I let off... wow, feels like 170 sitting so low
These are going up in value.. Pick one up if you can find one!
This is actually my dream car so i hope Ill own one :D
As an owner of this same vehicle, I can attest to the fact that it only behaves well when you treat it badly. It is a car that was designed to be driven like you stole it all the time. Drive it any other way and it bucks, snarls, and shudders like an unhappy lion in cage. It offers you nothing but the joy of driving. However, it gives you that joy like drinking from a fire hose.
Say the B pillar reminds me of the new 2020 supra
🗣"The b pillar reminds me of the new 2020 supra"
For the longest time I thought these were actually Lotus based, thanks for the heads up!
God bless the Italians!
They make them quirky. They make them powerful. They make them real pieces of art on wheels.
Boy I gotta say, Alfa Romeo makes the most beautiful cars.
I remember driving one that I found on Turo... wow is it a completely different experience from any other car I’ve drivin
These and ND Miatas are 🔥
I have a 4C have owned a number of Ferrari's. I LOVE the rawness and " real" drivers car of the Alfa 4C. There is nothing else like it!!!
If it had more hp 350-400. I would consider. IMO a underrated car for sure. Same with a lotus.
Wouldn’t be so cheap then lol
You can get these motors up to that power number, but a 4C with 400 HP would simply be too much.
@@tyhyhh it would be like 5K more.
Remap with exhaust will make it go over 300hp
Ive loved these cars ever since I sat in one a couple of years back in a dealership - would have bought it on the spot if I had the money then. Buying a new weekend car next year and have the 4C on my shortlist along with:
- Elise 111R
- Elise Sport 250
- Audi RS5 (V8 version)
- Maserati GranTurismo
- Porsche 981 Boxter
Most raw car on the market though?
In 40 years, best of show at Pebble Beach.
why does he pronounce monocoque so weird lmao
probably to get around demonetization.
UA-cam be like "monocock lmao no monetization for you."
Only bicoques and tricoques allowed
@2:36 The closest competitor is a Lotus Exige Cup 260. It is even faster than it at similar performance.
So it has a steering wheel for Man sized hands. Got it!
I used to drive a hot hatch with the same engine the guiliatta qv loved it
My car lost power steering, so it must be part Alfa Romeo 4C.
💯💯
Alfa Romeo 4C: When Italians actually try.
If only it had a stick...
@@fortheloveofnoise ... it wouldn't be a 4C.
Wow never new these were this badass; mad respect for them now
it’s like an italian BRZ
@The Emperor shhhhhhhhhhhh 🤣
Alfa romeo getting back to do what they do best high performance pure fun cars
Closest thing that feels like a performance motorcycle without being a motorcycle.
Totally agree. Own an RSV4 Aprilia and a 4C
Both are death weapons. The 4C is simply a go-kart on steroids.
One of my friends bought a modified 4c Spyder. I was like, "your crazy!" but that's why we're friends lol. Cool car.
I believe that Lotus makes the sketchiest cars still
Looking to get one of these, the curve bottomed out so... why not as a fun track car?
It's like a Lotus but more expensive.
there are lotus that are three times as expensice?!
Lotus is really expensive nowadays
Loved the editing change up you got going on! Nice format!
"monocoque"
Its a true driver's car. 40k isn't breaking the bank either. The review was solid and I think it might just have the right amount of power.
2400lbs I'm in, wait no stick, I'm out 😔
What still has a stick? Well NASCAR maybe..
I got to enjoy one for a day and so can’t say I’ve wanted anything so much since
