@@jamslam5641 Yep you’re correct. It was being broadcast by LOGO-TV in the US (only the Grand Final), but after 2018 they decided not to continue. I was only able to watch the 2019 Eurovision because Netflix in the US now has the rights to stream it (both semi-finals and the final), but it isn’t live. Which I’ll admit does make it feel kinda different since I already knew the winner before I could watch it. Last year a friend of mine told me to try the Swedish broadcaster’s website in order to watch the Eurovision special and I was able to watch it there. I really thought he would miss out on the televotes completely, but there must be a lot of kids out there in Europe voting! 😅 The most upsetting part is that we had so many good songs in the Swedish selection that year that I was raging when he won. Unbelievable. It would be so funny if you guys reacted to the Swedish final that year to see why it’s so surprising he won. 😂
In the beginning of Russian song when they are impressed with the wings on the screen you can see Alexandr thinking "Oh honey...you haven't see all the magic yet" :-)
I am from Ukraine and wasn't pissed. Proud of Jamala. She had a message, I cry each time listening her song. As for Lazarev I've even forgotten the motive after a year
This was my favorite overall year to watch too. Not my favorite with the songs, but best in overall production. I was front row for the Final, and watching Georgia and Russia in the arena was amazing
This was your best yet. Their reactions were great. Love that they saw the voting to and Mikes reactions were amazing. Your voting with the guys was nearly as good as the rael ones.
Frans (Sweden) was 17 at the time. He became known in Sweden when he sang a song about Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he was 7 years old. It is called "Who's da man" or something like that!
I found out that my favourite songs from Eurovsion since 2010... Are in 2016. Not in order: Poli Genova - "If Love Was a Crime" Iveta Mukuchyan - "LoveWave" Zoë - "Loin d'ici" Laura Tesoro - "What's the Pressure" Francesca Michielin - "No Degree of Separation" Dami Im - "Sound of Silence"
Its crazy how disrespectful americans will be towards music when they dont know the meaning behind it. Ukraine sang about the invasion of their country where millions died. Good job saying whatever to her winning bud.
finally the best ESC ever. At the time ESC was going: 1) Ukraine 2) Spain 3) Malta 4) Hungary 5) Czech Rep. After 5 years I still listen Spain, Malta, Hungary, Armenia, but Israel the most. I can't believe how much I underrated that song in 2016, IMO after Zeljko Joksimovic, Made of stars is the best ballad of the decade. BTW I am from Poland and it was a crime :) Poland is never liked by juries (probably only San Marino is worse in history in average jury scoring), but great majority of times it is strongly justified. That year it was not. And if the Umbrella cover is at the bottom, you should know how strong that year was (also not qualifying f.e. Iceland, which I listen still very often, maybe even more often than Israel)
Loved this video so much! 2016 is my favourite eurovision year and you, Mike and Lauren are my favourite reactors to hang out with for an hour from the comfort of my home haha
I don’t really understand how Frans (the singer from Sweden) managed to with mellodifestivalen in 2016. There were so many good songs that year. I would personally have placed “If I were sorry seventh in the mellodifestivalen final that year.
Honestly can't stand the hate against Belgium. It's a good, uplifting song, but they treated it like trash. Laura did amazing, not only singing well, but dancing throughout too.
Wow, you all look just like us when we watch Eurovision. Lots of swearing, gasps, cheering and booing during the voting. Afterwards when the competition element wears of I always learn to appreciate the other songs more. But it's always lots of fun. Thank you for sharing! You guys are great!
This is so much fun to see because this is actually what ESC is about and its charm! Humas on a couch having a great time with their own favorits, friendly arguing and having fun. That is the charm of it. Great videos.
Laura, Samra, Dami, Francesca, Iveta, Joe & Jake… so many good good good songs! No matter the winner or the losers, they’re all gonna stay in my Eurovision playlist! Thank you guys for this video, especially you Alex! 😘
Loooove the reaction, and yes 2016 is probably the best one for me too. I understand about Poland vote by the juries, that is just not right, it was one of the best song and also a very good performance. And I actually don't mind about Ukraine winning, the song is good, and the performance is actually also very moving. But for me the songs on the top 3 are not a song that I would listen to regularly tho. My favourite from 2016 is France, love the song and still listening to it to this day. Btw I would looooove to see them react to the songs that did not qualify from this year or even years back, because there are some hidden gems in there and also there are some memorable act or song that is very interesting or good.
Juries don't judge off the final performance, but the rehearsals. He could've had a dud, there. Or the song just wasn't right for that time. It's pretty meh to me anyway, but deserved more points.
I've been waiting for this for so long! One of my favourite Eurovision's ever - so many amazing acts! Russia was my winner though and Cyprus my second.
Thanks for the video!!! Always like to see the reaction of first time viewers. Am sure there were times when Alex couldn’t contain himself. These videos are as entertaining as the contest itself. Love love the video and peace peace to you guys :-)
Love these reactions, can't wait for more! Alex is such a mood, I am also shaking in my seat trying not to sing the songs or reveal my favs when showing friends. As for the results, my 2016 winner (and one of my favorite esc songs) was Czech Republic, so you can imagine what that 0 points did to me.
where did you watch this? in germany the 2016 show from the official eurovision channel is blocked for some reason :( also fun fact: sweden's song from that year is one of the most played eurovision songs on german radio, i hear it constantly!
I find that so strange... I never listened to that song... maybe it is not an organic request from the people but rather a good marketing from the label that produces it...
I still like our 🇸🇪 2016 song and think it has aged well together with the Australian, Bulgarian and Russian songs. The not so much imo. Russia’s song and performance was majestic!
16:25 Italy was really high in betting, as not only the song but also singer were well known and received. Staging killed it to death, thought which was kinda sad. 25:30 Fun fact when Margaret announced her song, Poland was bet as the winner of that year. Unfortunately her performance at preliminaries killed it (being fully fair TVP sabotaged her in sound department). If we had as strong song as Cool Me Down and performance Michał gave - we would have won that year. But oh well. 54:45 Fun fact - Jury was create to balance people voting for their friend countries... Nowadays - it is mostly Jury that votes politically and or looks at how "dated" specific songs are. 1:01:05 Three Slavic countries and Australia. Older Eurovision would never. Its nice to see how normal people changed their views on specific countries over the years.
What a great video!!! I want to invite you all to see the next esc in my living room! Especially Mike is great, this ist the right tone he got, every Eurovision fan every year Alex please make them watch older eurovisions like 1988, 1989 or 1998 and 1999, this would be hilarious
Yeah, I’m Swedish and I was disappointed and surprised that we placed so high that year. Fun fact though, Frans (the Swedish singer) is most known in Sweden for singing a song about how cool and good Zlatan Ibrahimović is when he was 10 years old.
Serbian song was more about abused women and relationships, behind were photos from abused women in Serbia so she was inviting them to break free, that's why she stayed serious all time.
@@alexmiller23 congratulations i don't think i asked that? netherlands 2019 came 3rd in jury and 2nd in televote? Netta came 3rd in jury and 1st in televote. I loved Ukraine, the song gives me goosebumps each time. It was the only time i actually voted on eurovison :) Russia was a cool staging but i didnt like the song that much. Also because the year before a really cool staged act won and very coincidentally russia came up with an act with a lot of graphics too the year after it. The first year the staging was origingal but the second year it wasnt so original anymore. It was fun watching this video and seeing the reactions! Especcially when peoples favorites didnt won, it was so relatable :D Greetings from Netherlands
Fun fact: Serbias contestant from 2016 and one of her background singers actually are members of the girl troup Hurricane and have competed at the ESC this year for Serbia again. And Frans song " I was sorry" was really popular after the ESC in whole Europe. It was in the top of the charts for a long time and still is getting played in the radio often until now🙈
@@alexandrumic yeah, I will never forgive them for that. The only thing that I can think of is that they don’t like nostalgic/throwback songs. They did the same with Estonia 2017 Verona and Norway 2019 SITS. But the song was so deep and lyrically memorable and he had a great voice but they placed Moldova 2019 Stay in 10th place in the semi and that was for her voice and that was a throwback song so I have no idea.
I liked this year because it showed the tension between Russia and Ukraine right to the end
And now : (
Lol I connected to Mike on spiritual level when he reacted to the votes
Frans (Sweden) was 17 at the time. He became known in Sweden when he sang a song about Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he was 7 years old. It is called "Who's da man" or something like that!
Zlatan has a song about himself???? Is it in English?
@@alexandrumic no it is in swedish, but with some words in english and german. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/ApOmHYds_TY/v-deo.html
"Petra how'd you let this happen?!"
I found out that my favourite songs from Eurovsion since 2010... Are in 2016. Not in order:
Poli Genova - "If Love Was a Crime"
Iveta Mukuchyan - "LoveWave"
Zoë - "Loin d'ici"
Laura Tesoro - "What's the Pressure"
Francesca Michielin - "No Degree of Separation"
Dami Im - "Sound of Silence"
Its crazy how disrespectful americans will be towards music when they dont know the meaning behind it. Ukraine sang about the invasion of their country where millions died. Good job saying whatever to her winning bud.
They won because of politics, just like in 2022
All the PTSD from Australia not getting enough televotes to win...arrrgh. Great vid guys
finally the best ESC ever.
1 hour of great Eurovision content on a lazy Sunday. Thank you so much!
I don’t really understand how Frans (the singer from Sweden) managed to with mellodifestivalen in 2016. There were so many good songs that year. I would personally have placed “If I were sorry seventh in the mellodifestivalen final that year.
Seeing you guys arguing over the jury votes... just like me at home on the night hahah!
Wow Vinny's top 5 is the exact same as the televote. He is the voice of the people!
Honestly can't stand the hate against Belgium. It's a good, uplifting song, but they treated it like trash. Laura did amazing, not only singing well, but dancing throughout too.
2016 was definitely the best year. Not only in terms of the songs but the show overall. Great memories. And the reaction video is also awesome. :D
“Ukraine will get the political vote fook off!” That’s a solid mood there Mike
Wow, you all look just like us when we watch Eurovision. Lots of swearing, gasps, cheering and booing during the voting. Afterwards when the competition element wears of I always learn to appreciate the other songs more. But it's always lots of fun. Thank you for sharing! You guys are great!
I'm with Lauren: Barei deserved top5! It's been 5 years and I'm stil shocked by the result
Yeah, I'm like "Guess the best I can do now is stream the song hard".
Lauren with that sneaky win is everything
This is so much fun to see because this is actually what ESC is about and its charm! Humas on a couch having a great time with their own favorits, friendly arguing and having fun. That is the charm of it. Great videos.
I would like to see this girl again,at watching next Eurovision
Laura, Samra, Dami, Francesca, Iveta, Joe & Jake… so many good good good songs! No matter the winner or the losers, they’re all gonna stay in my Eurovision playlist! Thank you guys for this video, especially you Alex! 😘
Thank you!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!!
38:50 Lauren is reminded of Sweden 2011 when looking at Russia 2016? That’s some neat forshadowing, they both finished third.
I actually think Ukraine has one of the best Eurovision winners with this.
I don't even think this was the best Ukrainian winner
@@Laveo4o wrong but funny
Remember the juries' votes are based off the rehearsals. Poland might have had a dud there.
Keep going on like this Alex, u rock.
I've been waiting for this for so long! One of my favourite Eurovision's ever - so many amazing acts! Russia was my winner though and Cyprus my second.
Same!
Also, Petra and Mans were the best hosts ever. ;)
(Though Cyprus wasn't my second, but I still really liked it.)
tasteless
@@augustoka4881 Ever heard of having an opinion? Be respectful, I wouldn't ridicule you for liking or disliking certain songs, salt shaker.
Exactly! Sergey definitely should have won that year, and I really enjoyed Cyprus❤️
Poland kick they're asses I mean juries. X DDD
Greetings from Poland.
I can't wait for them to react to 2017 my fav year and the year i got into Eurovision
ESC Stockholm 2016 = the best show ever!
Poland was terribly hurt by the jury in 2016 🥺
Thanks for the video!!! Always like to see the reaction of first time viewers. Am sure there were times when Alex couldn’t contain himself. These videos are as entertaining as the contest itself. Love love the video and peace peace to you guys :-)
It's awesome how they get Eurovision now! Best reaction video so far! Greetings from Costa Rica!!!
Luv from Poland for all of you !!! Now You know how we felt in 2016
Girl from Serbia is going this year again on Eurovision, but with her group Hurricane
where did you watch this? in germany the 2016 show from the official eurovision channel is blocked for some reason :( also fun fact: sweden's song from that year is one of the most played eurovision songs on german radio, i hear it constantly!
I find that so strange... I never listened to that song... maybe it is not an organic request from the people but rather a good marketing from the label that produces it...
@@alexandrumic The song was a hit all over Europe. In Sweden it went 7x Platinum with almost 60 million sales.
The 2016 show is blocked in Austria too. I was pretty pissed about it, I liked many of the songs and really wanted to see the whole thing...
@@minano-nim6795 yeah me too! I hope they will unblock it eventually..
Especially Mike is great, this ist the right tone he got, every Eurovision fan every year
Alex please make them watch older eurovisions like 1988, 1989 or 1998 and 1999, this would be hilarious
Can't wait to see the Americans watching Yodel It! Damn😍
Omg I forgot about that one!!!
@@alexandrumic i hope u didn't forget about Dihaj
@@alexandrumic And My Friend...
Love this reaction....i wait for another year reaction...nice team!!!keep going...
Yeah, I’m Swedish and I was disappointed and surprised that we placed so high that year. Fun fact though, Frans (the Swedish singer) is most known in Sweden for singing a song about how cool and good Zlatan Ibrahimović is when he was 10 years old.
Frans was amazing !! I voted for him! From Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Serbian song was more about abused women and relationships, behind were photos from abused women in Serbia so she was inviting them to break free, that's why she stayed serious all time.
That Eurovision still hurts. 7 points.. like wtf. if that's not about politics then idk what it is
It was so cool to spend time with you again 🤩
Not gonna lie, Ukraine is my favorite Eurovision winner.
Ukraine was not even among the bookmakers in the top 10. Russia won by viewers, and Australia won by the jury.
@@alexmiller23 congratulations i don't think i asked that? netherlands 2019 came 3rd in jury and 2nd in televote? Netta came 3rd in jury and 1st in televote. Austria in 2014 wasn't even top10 and still won, that's why a song is good, so i recommend you stop ignoring that ukraine got 323 points and people only gave australia 191, Jamala was high in both and you're actually wrong, she is 2nd in the odds, if you check. STILL my favorite winner ever.
@@thales7099 the viewers' opinion speaks for itself. in 2016 Eurovision is nothing more than a political game. for many to this day, Russia is the winner of 2016.
@@thales7099 just ignore him..... he's just yet another Ukraine 2016 hater. Ukraine won fairly and deservedly and nothing's gonna change that :) she came second in both jury votes and televotes and she even got 323 points from the public.... not even Netta or Duncan got that much :)
@@alexmiller23 the viewers gave 323 points to Jamala so I guess public loved her? what's your point here lol, of course public speaks for itself, they loved Jamala. Of all of the 2010's winners, only Loreen and Salvador who got more televote points than Jamala. and who's still following bookmakers nowadays? oh you're fucking hilarious sir.
Well - "Love, love - Peace, peace" should win every year!
I loved Ukraine, the song gives me goosebumps each time. It was the only time i actually voted on eurovison :)
Russia was a cool staging but i didnt like the song that much. Also because the year before a really cool staged act won and very coincidentally russia came up with an act with a lot of graphics too the year after it. The first year the staging was origingal but the second year it wasnt so original anymore.
It was fun watching this video and seeing the reactions! Especcially when peoples favorites didnt won, it was so relatable :D
Greetings from Netherlands
Okay, so who is hyped to see them react to Epic Sax Guy, part 2? Cause I am 😂
Fun fact: Serbias contestant from 2016 and one of her background singers actually are members of the girl troup Hurricane and have competed at the ESC this year for Serbia again.
And Frans song " I was sorry" was really popular after the ESC in whole Europe. It was in the top of the charts for a long time and still is getting played in the radio often until now🙈
Mike was a whole throughout the announcement. Proper Eurovision fan.
I think they kinda need to know what happened in 1944 and the Soviet Union in general to understand the meaning of the song.
I explained it to them.. they just thought it was really dark in a real way for Eurovision...
Well, I guess Eurovision is not all about happiness...? :D (With love from Finland.)
I never react to videos but I was watching all of their reactions this week and thought WHERE is 2016?! Did I manifest this?
My favourite year too; very entertaining observations and commentary. Thank you!
Yeah, that's exactly what we feel during the results announcement, welcome to the club lol
1:04:38 is my reaction every year when my fav is not winning or Someone I liked
Omg!!! This was so epic! Thanks for this video reaction 👏🏻
My 3rd favourite Eurovision song ever is from 2016 (Poland)
That song is in my top too!!
Those 7 points are a mystery to me!!
These are meant to be experts that should go on vocals. If Sweden had sang COYL they would have been top 5. Great video btw when Mike kept saying ‘horseshit’ 🤣🤣🤣 funniest thing I’ve heard in over a year. And I had my fingers crossed you would show love love peace peace and the televote and I’m so happy you did.
Really hoping you’re planning on doing a 2017. Mike and Lauren are just Legends. X
I was waiting for this. Thanks Alex you re the only youtuber in that content and they re out of eurovision fan bubble. At least we can see how random televoters react to songs and performances etc... Like their poland reaction etc.. When will we watch esc 2017 ?
10:29 is the best thing I've seen on the Internet today!
I love them! You have some genuinely authentic reactors. Please don't ever change them!!!!
Ps: I'm with Mike on this one! 2016 sucked.....well the results did.
