Nothing special,sounded just like a combination of Slayer and Death Angel
New song is good. Yep, that's Kerry on guitar. It sounds like Slayer, down to the Araya-alike vocalist. I'm not impressed how he's trashing his previous band members now. Kerry King seems like an asshole. He's the Gene Simmons of thrash.
I was extremely impressed with the new song, and here is why. I truly wasn't expecting much at all. I thought it would be bla, and I would listen to it once and never again. So, when I heard IDLE HANDS, I was shocked at how much I loved it.
Very very subpar stuff. Really seems like Kerry wants to resuscitate those post Slayer paychecks. Another solid video!!! 🙂🤘
These songs sound like cutting room Slayer tunes that didn't make Repentless.
Yep shite, no evil riffs, no dark harmony's, no bonus stage head banging sections what Slayer used to be good at, just sounds like a Disposable Hero's cheap rip off then a bunch of random generic chords for what you can call the chorus and horrible shouty lyrics...crap.
Don't get me wrong, from 1983 to 1990 Slayer was the dogs bollocks...but THIS is truly forgettable stuff, a lot like Slayers later stuff.
Even with the lineup it is difficult to remote get excited for at all. And yeah, the Slayer 83- 90 was the essential listening. After that, they never paralleled themselves ever again.
Even though the I expect a big meh for the album, if they come around on tour I will go because I am 100% sure they will play mostly slayer songs
Dont hate it. Its a thrash "supergroup". Osegueda is a great thrash vocalist. Lets not forget that this is one song of an album. Many of those bashing it may love another song on the record. I think the worst thing that is turning people off is that it isnt Slayer.

It sounds bad in the same way st anger sounded bad when Metallica released it as a single. The production and tones of the instruments are so off the charts bad that nothing can save it.
Actually my opinion I enjoyed the new song big Kerry King/Slayer fan but honestly ain't got nothing on Slayer with both Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman R. I. P. and Dave Lambardo.
Shocked?! I was thoroughly expecting him to pick up a hollowbody and play some meaningful bebop lines in his new jazz group a la Skolnick some 20 years ago. I give him 50 years to catch up with Naked City

I think your take is pretty damn accurate, or at least it is safe to say I agree with it.
Repentless was KING uninhibited, for good or bad, and this is an obvious continuation. It shows who was into that, and who wasnt havin it.
I was excited when I heard Phil Anselmo was going to front the project, that gave me curiosity as to what the mix would be like.
This is absolutely " the other guys in SLAYER wanted to call it a day, and I refuse".
I still love SLAYER.
Its not like I'll ever say Kerry King is not one of the greatest hero's of heavy metal.

I love SLAYER so much I write their name in capitals.
I think a lot of people (especially slayer fans) fail to remember that Jeff haneman was the best song writer they had and was responsible for almost ALL iconic songs slayer ever wrote. Everyone seems to think Kerry is the guy though and as a result I think people lie to themselves saying it’s like slayer.
This song was so boring and disjointed. All it was was some power chords grouped together for an unmemorable groove followed by chugging. Very underwhelming.
Bands called Kerry King . Sounds like someones ego is getting scratched . I don't think these guys thought joining up with him through .
He is a mediocre guitarist .
Lombardo is a drum God and got screwed by Slayer . And Jeff Hnneman was the other good musician . The rest were just mediocre .

I think the first Kerry King song is okay. I was hoping for something much more intense. Like taking it back to the more raw 80's Slayer. Nope! Didn't happen. I saw your comment on Mordant Rheds video on the King song. Lol. He puts down some serious yelling. Lol. I love every second of it too.
It picks up where the last album left off. I hope he dabbles into some older styles. Hell Awaits. 🤟🏻
divine intervention was the last great slayer album imo , not too excited vocals are fine but I listened to it atleast 5 times but I can hardly remember any part of the song
Idle hands is as i understand it a leftover from Repentless, it's a song that didn't make it to that record. New band, new songs is my opinion here.
The singer is great and lifts this one. 3/5

I don't get it: Kerry is doing what he's always done, what made him famous & beloved by hundreds of thousands of fans in the world, and now, all of a sudden, he's not good enough & his music sucks?? SERIOUSLY??

Kerry King stated many times don't expect anything different, this is Slayer 2.0 if he wasn't in Slayer he would want to hear something Slayer even after they end. So of course it sounds like Slayer that was Kerry Kings whole mission to make new music carrying on the sound of Slayer. So don't hold your breath for it to sound any different. As far as the other members influencing anything don't hold your breath either, it's Kerry King (band) and he is writing everything and the other members are just guns for hire. If you would have actually watched or read anything he said about this album before now you probably wouldn't be so let down or surprised it sounds exactly like Slayer.
Yeah I didn’t read anything until it came out where he explained it was a throw away Slayer song.
@@MelanieLovesDeathMetal I've seen alot of people including my friends feel the same disappointment, then I showed them a couple interviews before release and they then kinda looked at the song different and their veiw on the entire album changed. I'm a SLAYER fan for 37 years since i discovered them at 10. I know this isn't SLAYER but truthfully it's a sound I'm glad that Kerry King is carrying on.

It’s an improvement of last 3 Slayer albums IMO. Same shit basically. Not bad not great. I feel Mark osueda was a good choice for vocals & with Demmel in band King is still the worst guitar player in his own band
I like it. Maybe not the most amazing thing ever, but it was fun thrash with blasphemous lyrics. Sometimes, that's all I need.
Kerry King said he was incapable of writing anything else than Slayer type riffs, I can well believe it!
I got about 30 seconds into the song. At least I gave it a chance. Been jamming Cabinet and Infernal Coil nonstop tho. :)

Honestly I like Kerry King new solo song Idle Hands off their debut album coming out in May 17, 2024.
Horrible, Absolutley awful song. Lifeless, boring doesn’t stand out.
It sounds like a Slayer cover band. I am not a fan of Death Angel so I knew what the vocals would be.
Their Ultraviolence album was the best. Ever since then it was basically either the older somewhat experimental stuff which didn't really appeal to me, to the more latter "modernist" thrash that was standard but nothing like their debut.
Paul's last name is pronounced (Bow-staff) Bostaph. You should give Machine Head's newest album , Of Kingdom and Crown a listen. I think its the most banger album they did in years. Even has a few almost Death Metal moments on it.
