I have recently been watching the CRAP out of horror movies. My absolute favorites are the corny campy movies. I recently saw 'Night of the Lepus' for example. 70s movie about killer giant rabbits....yeah its bad haha.

Hit up some thrift stores/flea markets and you might be able to score some horror movies on vhs and maybe snag a vcr too if you need one. I've found a few gems doing that.

I love death metal but don't watch horror movies anymore. At 43 years old I find that the older I get I just cannot stand watching people being murdered. I also have a hard time listening to death metal albums where there are intros with people screaming/crying. Just want to vibe with the music, not feel bad/weird listening to someone being tortured/murdered. It's weird because my current favorite death metal label that im obsessed with is Iron Fortress Records, who incorporate horror in their products. Can't get enough of their bands. Not knocking anyone who still enjoys horror. I'll stick to my comedy.

My favorite thing about Mortician is trying to guess what movie clips they play on their songs.

I like the debut Mordant Rhed album, I also enjoyed The Lurking Corpses and despite being a little repetitive. I liked the new Rotting Christ album

I like both black and death but it’s in period time. I’m not mixing genres 😅

I am surprised, it is not a bad list, lots of great albums there. Nevertheless other resonated with me better than these and i have more undergroud black metal, prog and power metal in mine list up to now. As Greg Lake sang:"C'est la vie"

I find it interesting how much like Rotten Sound was originally a side band of members of Vomiturition, Nasum was originally a side band for members of Necrony.

By the way. If you're into CARCASS worship bands please check out OBFUSCATION from Finland. They were a bit late in the game but still quite good CarcassMetal with local Dark Finish touch.

Oh, this One is some Dope Shit !!! NECRONY were featured on every fanzine back in 90-93 as far as I remember. I still have their first 7". But lost CD somewhere in one of these drunk parties I think in early 90s.

Few things I didn't mention but I should have because someone will in the comments: This was originally recorded by Dan Swanö and also remastered by him. Yes, they were also members of Nasum. Also Xtreem Music reissued the demo on a 10" two years ago but I haven't been able to find it nor do I like getting 10" records.

Cool video. The Decibel list is useful for talking points. I like that Necrot, Vicious Blade, Deceased, Darkthrone, and Judas Priest are on it. 1349 and Borknagar made their best albums in ages, and I also dig the new LPs by Cepahlotripsy, Altar of Oblivion, Stress Angel, Traveler, The Crown, Rotting Christ, Brodequin, Saxon, and Antichrist Siege Machine.

New Mercyless and Pentagram Chile albums were highlights for me.

I saw Spectral Wound with Hulder and it seemed at least 1/3 of the people were there mainly to see Spectral Wound.

Some amazing albums on there - Anciients, Gatecreeper, High on Fire, 200 Stab Wounds, Black Dahlia Murder and Spectral Voice were among my faves of the year.

Julie Christmas was in Made Out of Babies and was part Cult of Luna 's Mariner album. Noisy Post Metal -- love her.

Although I missed Nile, Pyrrhon and Hideous Divinity, that's a very solid list with a lot of records that I still need to check out because I am not much disciplined when it comes to keep up with new releases.

I own every album that interests me on this list minus Vicious Blade. I gotta snag that one. I may or may not have a spending problem.

Sad to hear, that the Crypt Sermon album didn't do it for you, Melanie.. 😥 Personally I love it so much, that it'll probably be my second favorite album of the year.. only dwarfed by the mighty Ulcerate.. at least Decibel had Ulcerate on their list, but at number 16!?! 😳 AOTY easily for me.. 🤗 Surprised that the new Nile album didn't even make the Decibel top 40; that album destroys most other releases on their list, in my humble opinion.. 🤔

There is a new all female death metal band here in the UK called Maatkare, very influenced by Nile and Egyptian mythology. Album is out now.

I've been a fan of Unaussprechlichhen Kulten for awhile now. This might be their best album yet, though you should definitely check out their older stuff (Kezea Lilith Medea is pretty sick). I'm loving the guitar solos.

Great video as always, Simon has cost me a lot of money this year, his recommendations are great. Let me reassure you his finds are rare, Australia sucks for finding music...at a reasonable cost anyway. Cheers!!
