Some strong picks. Engulfed, Defeated Sanity, Brodequin and Cosmic Putrefaction have all put out some cracking albums. And whilst it is nice to see some death metal veterans such as Nile, Opeth and Ulcerate ranking highly on many lists, I don’t think these bands have really delivered anything that tops their previous output other than improved production values. Just my opinion.

Burning in Celestial Poison EASILY gets my AOTY. I was kind of surprised considering Blood Incantion also released a really good album this year (although I had hoped for a "Timewave One"). I'm really glad this video was in my recommendations. You clearly know your music. Well done :)

I've seen a lot of variations on the lists so far, and that is usually a great sign of how good this year has been. Go Melanie go. I lived the times that death metal was at their prime early mid 90s…I saw death, morbid angels, napalm death, malevolent creation, hate plow, cannibal corpse, suffocation among other smaller bands…

Bought lot's of 70's OG prog / psyche shit this year so lists like yours hepls a lot to track down whats hot in DM circles !!!
