i just wanna point out something about this episode;
Fluttershy has an issue carrying the bag. That initially seems just humorous, and it might be, but i really like the thought that this is a subtle way of the writers _showing_ the earth pony that Twilight got as an Alicorn. After all, an Alicorn is *_all three_* races.

The soldiers under firebrand’s command are so bad at their job, The next person to do a Colab with him could just walk into the base holding a sign that reads “ i’m supposed to be here.” and it would work.

Let's face it; the base is so carelessly defended, two kids and a dog (or a self aware supercomputer) could infiltrate it.
Being from the actual area where the Hatfield and McCoy feud happened, this episodes holds a special place in my heart.
Also like the way he says "HUUFFIELDS!"
And when the episode first aired, I still thought the feud was family history. Nnnnnnnope. Turns out Great-Great-Grandpa Jonathan wasn't on the level about his backstory.
This episode didn't stick around in the fandom's mind for some reason. Maybe nothing was ridiculous or cute enough to reach meme status. Maybe it was the lack of fan favorite characters and locations. Maybe most of us just can't relate to feuding families the way we can to stories of social anxiety or bullying. But this was a solid episode!
Fluttershy got a story that wasn't about learning assertiveness, and actually brings her Dolittle/Thornberry powers back to the forefront. The show seems to forget about those with every season premiere or finale, no matter how useful it might be otherwise! Also, before this episode, did we ever get a story shared by Twilight and Fluttershy? New character combinations and chemistry are always welcomed.
Then there's all the artistic detail. Every member of these families seems to have a distinct model and facial features, and the architecture for each of their compounds is totally distinct from anywhere else in the show.
It's because the plot of the story has been over-used. Romeo and Juliet. Avatar: The Last Airbender. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. SpongeBob Squarepants. For (Yay) Sake! Even Disney a few (Yay)ing times!!!
At the time the episode aired, I still thought the Hatfield-McCoy feud was family history. Nnnnnnnnope! Turns out that Great-Great-Grandpa Jonathan was not on the level about his (likely unreconstructable at this late date) backstory.

In this episode i noted that twilight didn't have trouble carrying her bags the way fluttershy did, and while i know fluttershy isn't the strongest pony, and the possibility that she was carrying the bulk of the weight for there travel supplies (i dought this as twilight would be to good a friend to allow that i believe), this may be a showing of twilight gaining her alicorn earth pony strength
Oh my God, Firebrand's almost caught up with season 5! All that's left is The Mane Attraction.

I find this one of the funniest episodes of the series, only behind The Last Roundup and Rock Solid Friendship.
Doctor Eggnog I liked all the humor in the episode where twilight tried to study pinkie sense.

My parents show their love in a strange way
I'd like to make a point on one of your criticisms. You were talking about there being food everywhere for the animals..and to an extent that's correct. However, we were also shown multiple times during the episode that it isn't that easy. Either the food was being taken from the animals to use as ammunition, swept up, or there was just nowhere safe to eat. If there's giants stomping around and throwing things (even if the giants are usually nice and feed you), you don't sit down in the middle of the space and have a bagel. You run away...even if it means you go hungry.
The ferret point is a good one though. He really should have eaten one of the smaller animals, or at least snagged a fish or two from the river.

Something that I saw pointed out to me about Obi-Wan's statement that really sorta... made it all make sense.
He said 'Only Siths _deal_ in absolutes.' What he said might be an absolute _statement_, but it wasn't a deal.
Obi-Wan _really_ didn't want to _fight_ Anakin, let alone kill him, and you can tell he's not really dealing in absolute just by how he speaks in such a resigned way. If he _could_ offer Anakin another option, and I think he kinda did, he _would_ have done and probably have shed tears. But at that point, the Dark Side had Anakin too strongly.
Again, only a Sith _deals_ in absolutes. Jedi don't, they'd rather at least try to figure things out first. They're not forbidden from _stating_ absolutes if the facts don't really help them find other ways.
Something I figured would be worth mentioning.
The Jedi still are pretty hypocritical.
They see themselfs as peacekeepers and say they aren't warriors, but protectors/guards. Still they take sides and fight in the war against the CiS and are even an integrated part of the republic military, wearing titles like Generals insteads of acting as neutral negotiators as they should.
That was a mad world reference and i like it

3:52 Come now, Josh. "The Hooffields and the McColts" is in season 5. We never saw Flurry Heart until 6. "The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows" only told us that Cadence was pregnant with Flurry, and Flurry was only born some time prior to "The Crystalling." No need to get your horn in a knot like that.

I'm actually related to the Hatfields, and live close to the smoky mountain, so this was an awsome episode for me.
I can say as a native of the Appalachia Mt range that this episode hit a good note with me. We mountain folk are very family oriented and very VERY prideful so MLP attempt at the most famous fued in history was.....amusing. Though I should mention they did get the families mixed up. Technically the MCCOY'S were on the western side of the Tug Fork River in Kentucky and the HATFIELDS were on the eastern side in W. Virgina.
At the sametime the real fued was much more violent and petty. Starting with the death of Randall Mccoy's younger brother Esa Harmon Mccoy in the Civil War up to the shaming of his daughter Alifair to the deaths of his three eldest sons and another daughter as well the crippling if his wife the fued left him a broken and shattered man who died of depression in 1908.
Anse Hatfield or Devil Anse as he was called, kept pushing back at the Mccoys until it lead to the death of his younger brother Ellison Hatfield and to a raid that burned the Mccoy home and caught the attention of the federal govt and nearly provoked war between Kentucky and W. Virginia. Sheriffs and Bounty hunters swarmed into Pike County W. Virgina, their mission to arrest or kill every Hatfield they could find involved in the attack on the Mccoy home. His eldest son Johnsie was arrested as were many of his family. His own Uncle Jim Vance Hatfield was shot and killed by a posse that included the sons of Esa Harmon Mccoy. In the end, Devil Anse had to spend the rest of his life on the lamb, living in one of the most under developed regions of W. Virginia. He died in 1926, 17 years after the death of his rival Randall Mccoy.
