So a lot of people complain about Rainbow Dash not remembering to not prank Fluttershy, but let's not forgot that the pony who told her not to do that back in season 1 is the SAME one who found it hilarious when she actually did in this episode. Dash can be forgiven forgetting something she was told one time 8 years ago, but Pinkie has no excuse for forgetting something she's known from the beginning.
@@mamabear1394 And remember, Fluttershy had grown as a character since then. I interpret the events of "Putting Your Hoof Down" as predating Nightmare Moon's return (except for the tag, which I place the day after "Lesson Zero"), but Flutters is still much more out of her shell than in the pilot, and maybe Pinkie (who can be even more socially clueless than me sometimes) overestimated how much Flutters could handle. BTW, this episode seems to be one big My Little Pony Tales shout-out. Patch pranks her friends in very inconsiderate ways (for example, she swaps Bright Eyes' school presentation video for a baking video, thus embarrassing her in front of the class), and really, Patch's song mostly fits with the montage of RD's pranking. Also, it's through an elaborate scare prank that Patch gets a taste of her own medicine. Now, the protagonists of Tales are fillies (of vaguely-defined age), so that scare prank was not the town-stopper that the cookie zombie prank was.

@@AlicornHana The episodes are clearly in anachronic order (for example, "Lesson Zero" has to take place before "Swarm of the Century" as the former includes a planned demolition of the barn while the latter an unplanned). Maybe "28 Pranks Later" predates "The Cutie Re-Mark".
Food pranks always make me nervous due to allergies. I've known a lot of people with very severe food allergies and, given the scale of the cookie prank, I could see whatever the secret prank ingredients could go south very quickly.
Two wrongs don't make a right. Making a friend think that she caused incurable disease for her close friends (and the whole town) is the worst "prank" that you could imagine. It's completely sick. Not hurting her emotionally via direct methods (scaring her, etc), but via a twisted indirect way, making her think that she hurt her friends, completely crushing her via guilt, making her think that her action made them completely gone, with empty shell walking around, reminding her what she's done. Only complete psychopaths would make that kind of "pranks".
if this happened in the real world (not to mention Covid) it really would not end well im kinda feeling this episode didn't age well during covid years or is it just me
Tyandaga's voice is, interesting...I can't tell whether I am annoyed, relaxed, or unmoved by his voice with every sentance. It is both intriguing and unnerving.
we can just kinda admit that AJ and Rarity are like 45% reasonable for this... hear me out, if they just calmly talked to RD and explained why its bad to prank everypony she might have let it sink in, but they straight up challenged her, by calling her pranks lazy and saying she doesnt put enough effort into them makes her want to do better, and lets admit it, the sewing machine cake was pretty great, and she was able to move AJ's bed out side while surrounded by pops and pans had to have taken a lot of effort to do that. now there are some pranks i dont not approve of, like what she did to Cranky and Mr.Cake, those were a little too far. all im saying is that more than one party was at fault. over all i enjoyed this episode
And maybe they thought challenging her would reach Rainbow better given her competitive nature. Thing is, all she heard was 'lazy' and didn't listen to *why* they thought the pranks were lazy. Specifically, figuring out what each pony would find funny and which ponies wouldn't want to get pranked at all.
I don't disagree with you. I also think that maybe, just maybe, Twilight, and the others may have gone a little overboard with the whole cookie grading zombie thing. It's basically the Mysterious Mayor Do Well all over again. But if there's anything to take away from this episode, it's that the best kind of pranks are the kind which can be shared among friends and that everyone can laugh at.
@@benjaminfeld6388 Rainbow: scares the town Their response: basically have an entire town play dead and make Rainbow dash believe she accidentally killed ponies and, in the process, traumatize rainbow dash into thinking that this was her fault. I think I made my point. I scare my sister and my mother every so often but that’s it, all I do is scare them. Sure there were certain ponies she shouldn’t have pranked but *Pinkie* was the one who fought back. It was *Pinkie* who thought the entire town cosplaying as zombies and Rainbow believing that it was her fault. Causing trauma via a prank isn’t a good thing, that’s like someone booping you on the nose so you break their spine and permanently paralyze them in response. WHY IS RAINBOW DASH FRIENDS WITH THESE PONIES CAUSE I SURE WOULDN’T IF PEOPLE PLAYED DEAD AND MADE ME THINK I WAS AT FAULT FOR IT.
i kinda felt that this was the worse version of mare do well. The only improvement is that they at least try to talk to her before taking action. But while in mare do well Dash had the excuse that she was genuinely saving lives, here she's just annoying everyone to no end for a cheap laugh.
Oh so you think Twlight and the others tormenting Rianbow Dash into believing she basically killed and entire town and possible giving her PTSD was justified?
What I thought is at least rainbows prank doesn't harm people too much. The zombie prank can cause emotional pain, breaking on of your rules, albeit rainbow also broke one, but still
Making everyone have a rainbow muzzle is quite harmless. You get To eat good cookies and get a laugh that you can wipe off after. The zombie prank scared and traumatized rainbow and they didn’t apologize, it caused damage, and no one apologized to rainbow for the damage it caused her. She really thought her friends had gotten hurt. Granted the intervention was shit
@@fireofdawn3515 Exactly this. While some of Rainbow's pranks went too far, at no point did any of the "victims" FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES! Plus there's all the things that could have gone wrong, mostly in the assumption that Rainbow would run instead of fight. We all know what kind of damage she can do, and if at any point Rainbow attacked out of fear or desperation, she could have done some serious damage to something or someone before it was revealed as a prank. Imagine that conversation.
Did some people not see the episode? Rainbow's pranks involve: attacking a timid girls phobias and traumas, interfering with another ponys business, everything that happened with Applejack, a brick sandwich, replacing a toupe with a SKUNK & actively tampering with stuff that people/ponys *PAID* for!
GoldenFox omg, you actually answered. And both. I mean, this episode could've given a message i have yet to see this show tackle: "treat others the way you want to be treated". With all the forms of bullying, thats a better message than "prank people, but only if they find it funny." And the mare do well message..... i see what they were going for, but it can still be dangerous. But I find 28 Pranks Later to be the worse episode.
I don't think that's the whole message. Based on what the rest of the mane six said, pranking is delicate for some people, and getting to know them is just as important before you start a prank.
GoldenFox i can understand that. But the better message would've been "treat others the way you want to be treated." The way they worded the message can be misconstrued by children.
I actually saw someone who said that Pinkie was a little ooc in that she wouldn't want to actually scare Rainbow just to teach her a lesson. Sadly though, she was the only one really able to do it (She's the only one Rainbow would trust with prank plans, and the only one with prank expertise), but that doesn't excuse how the episode wasn't very well written anyway.
Guys, you missed something very important. Rainbow's pranks were in bad taste, yes, but that retribution prank that the town pulled on her? She was basically convinced that she caused everyone she loved to go brain-dead irreparably, practically erasing their personalities permanently. THAT prank is WAY worse than anything Rainbow did on SO many levels.
@@WarmLusamine like Josh said that Fluttershy grown as a character and really shouldn't be so scared that easily. Especially when Rainbow just went "boo."
@btamamura Remember *episode 7 Seaon 1* ? Where she stood up against a fully grown dragon without issue in the end? Yeah she should not be that scared of a "boo" at this point.
@btamamura Yes, i have had pranks done to me that sometimes play on my sensitive sides. And sometimes i did not like them. However as a *grown adult* like Fluttershy is supposed to be, unless they *actually* took it too far, i would not throw a childish tantrum about it like Fluttershy did. She literally pulled everyone away from their jobs and responsibilities simply because Rainbow dressed up in a crappy costume and said "boo" . That is outright ridiculous. Both you and Fluttershy are acting as if Rainbow pretended like she was going to feed her to an angry dragon. And do you know how one overcome one`s phobias? By being exposed to them!
The way I've always thought about this episode is it's the rest of the Main Six's fault that Rainbow's pranks kept getting more and more out of control. It honestly sounded like they were saying she wasn't good enough to keep pranking, rather than telling her to pull back on or change them so nobody got hurt, physically or emotionally, so it's not surprising at all that she started going a bit crazy with them. That, and terrifying her by making her think she'd turned the WHOLE FREAKING TOWN into zombies was just way too much. Seriously, there's getting someone back for jerky pranks, then there's psychologically scarring them for life.
Undead Ladybug Yeah, I forgot their language in that lecture was counterproductive. It sounded like they were trying not to drive themselves into the hypocrisy corner should they pull their own pranks later, when this episode is a prime example of why that approach doesn’t work.
Yeah, and realistically rainbows pranks weren't that bad (except maybe the prank on mr cake) and the sabotaged cookies would have been a hit with kids. You ever see how much fun they have when food makes their tounge a different color , they'd love the rainbow face thing. I'd get it if she put poison joke in it or something but the cookies were harmless. This episode is almost has bad as the carts before the ponies in terms of delivering the moral because it dosn't feel like she deserved being almost traumatized to teach her a lesson.
I like Carts Before the Ponies, but I agree the message isn't handled the best. And it seems like we're in the minority, as far as thinking the town's prank on Rainbow was too much. A lot of people seem to feel that she deserved every second of it because of how crazy she's been in past episodes.
Rainbow's pranks were bad, yes...but she's got nothing on Luan Loud from The Loud House. Her pranks are often so destructive, so diabolical, so sadistic that the family goes into Defcon 4 Mode every April 1st. Speaking of which...could you give me a copy of that list of prank guidelines, Firebrand? I feel the Loud Family could really use that. Because a lot of Luan's pranks cause physical, emotional and collateral damage. Not to mention that she only apologized ONCE for her pranking
... *sigh* next time firebrand, before somepony, changeling or even raindeer talks bullshit before your army... put him or her in that canon and blast that creature to the moon. This isn't what an Army should learn... or if they learn anything from that... I think most of them oversleeped that. And if the Canon is in Repair... wasn't there this secret underground stable with the malfunction door that only opens once and then not for over 300 years? xD
I'll be completely honest, I don't like this episode much. And it's mostly because pranks aren't my kind of humor, nor could I let go of the detail brought up in the review that Rainbow Dash should _know_ not to prank Fluttershy, it just irritated me. Was fun, though, watching my friend be surprised by sudden zombie ponies because they don't really watch horrormovies and thus the title of the episode meant nothing to them
@btamamura I am "harrassing" you because i reply to *your* comments directed at *me* personally? Dont think that`s how that works 🙄 You dont get to pull a victim card just because a discussion is not going your way.... You`re not a victim here.
Jessica McCartney i hate the episiode too. I'm not a rainbow dash fan, but I hate how this felt like season 1 rainbow dash interacting with season 5.... everyone else.
Imo, if you took this episode and plopped it into early season 2 or late season 1 (minus the castle and Twi's wings, of course), it would have been totally believable.
I disagree in the beginning about Fluttershy. Yes, she has grown. But still, certain things can still revert her back to her original character. Being scared to the point of tears seems like a good trigger. (Works with me...)
*The Whisperer of Death* Uhhh... That isn't how the mind works. If you have Someone be Jumpscared, simply going 'Boo' does NOT make them jump when they are AWARE. Fluttershy was aware, yet, she acted like her Season One self... Or rather, she acted like a cowardly little shite. Seven seasons of Growth, down the Fucking Drain. Add in the Fact that in Season 7, they were already designing Gen 5 already, shows a lack of care for how Gen 4 is going. It's like Hasbro is just letting Friendship is Magic go with a Whimper.
Lazarus056 Fluttershy was scared to the point of tears. She was on edge. And probably wasn't expecting Dash to scare her more. It IS how SOME minds work. (Me, for example). Just because she's grown, does not mean old traits and habits are gone completely. Like I said before, certain triggers can bring them back.
This episode crossed the line in my opinion adding to the rules of pranks you never make someone feel like their life is in danger you never make someone feel alienated and alone that is where this episode crossed the line in my opinion it should have been handled differently
I would like to point out that one Rainbow Dash prank her friends it inconvenience them or made them upset not made them fear that their friends were sick and probably dying so I think they went way too far on trying to convince Rainbow Dash that something bad happen because of her prank to the point where she thought her friends were severely harmed
@btamamura 1. Oh no! A temporary bad smell! 2. If he did not notice a *brick* in his sandwich, he outright deserved it. Furthermore, you realize how strong the teeth of a horse is? 3. Weighing down Mac`s cart only caused a one minute inconvenience 4. I am pretty sure these prank toys have been made with allergies in mind. And the same kind of argument could be said for the sneezing powder etc from earlier which was totally fine. In the end of the day, Rainbow Dash was the victim in this episode. She was the only one exposed that a prank that took it too far.
@btamamura Again with the screaming 🙄 1. Which can be said about normal stink bombs that you get at the toy store. In the end its ultimately a temporary bad smell. 2. A *brick* is *heavy* . If he did not notice it he deserved it. And even a handbuzzer hurts a bit. 3. Not even a minute, which makes the prank even more harmless. Frankly, given his strenght, he should not even have noticed the rock in the first place. 4. Once again, these kind of toys are being made with allergies in mind. I think she would check on that sort of thing. Yes, she was the only victim of a prank taken too far. And Rainbow praising the only prank in the episode that actually went too far is *bad writing* .
@btamamura Someone answering you in a discussion is not harassment. If my comments are "stressing you out" then just *ignore* them like the rest of us do.
oh how i wish i can do a Review with Firebrand, i would love to tear into Suited for Success with him. i'm still waiting for a Review with Lightning Bliss & Keyframe.
well the big thing for me is this: its how the rest of the Mane 6 pretty much spits in Rarity's face when she went out of her way to make them all top of the line, one of a kind, original dresses meant for high society class events....and have her work her tail off in making costumes suited for a costume party at a friends house on Halloween! I mean for fucks sake, Rarity has designed each and every one of those dresses with aspects of her friends. Twilight: the blue and silver color scheme goes well with her natural lavender coat color, also her her two-toned mane adds another depth of to the overall apperance. not only that Rarity knows that Twilight loves astronomy hence the stars, and the night sky theme. Applejack: the green & brown color-scheme of AJ's outfit with the saddle & the neck collar goes well with her orange & blonde yellow color scheme, bring it all in on a sunny day in the wide open fields. and Rarity took the effort to make boots & a skirt flap that feels like what one might see a country girl wear. Pinkie: as for Pinkie's dress Rarity used two shades of pink to match her own shades of pink (coat & mane) as well as use the white to accent her colors, and top it with blue to bring the design together, and the little pieces of 'candy' just adds a nice touch to show that Pinkie is as sweet as candy. Rainbow: Rainbow's is simple, but very meaningful. Rarity took inspiration of old pegasi culture (which was Roman during the winter play) and in-corroborated it into a sort-of homage to a toga, and using Rainbows own natural prismatic features to make the outfit pop. and the golden laurel reef head piece & jeweled grapes just adds more flare from the old pegasi culture. Fluttershy: Rarity basically used Fluttershy own natural beauty to make her dress really stand out, and the main green color scheme with Shy's own butterscotch yellow is like a dandelion in a green field. and the accented flowers & butterfly pieces, really ties in the whole 'one with nature' angel Rarity was going for. ........but instead the girls thought that THOSE dresses were 'alright; or 'meh'. dress that Rarity designed & based on the stuff her friends like, qualities of their personality & their own life style. AND THEY MADE RARITY MAKE THOSE STUPID LOOKING OUTFITS! SERIOUSLY the Mane 6 thought THOSE costumes were perfect for a high-class event like the G.G.G! Twilight's costume looks like an old time pajama onesie, and what is with those fucking stars on springs. AJ's new outfit looks like she's ready for a hard days work in the fields, not going to a fancy party. Pinkie's was not as bad, but it looks like she's trying make a joke on 'fro-fro' style of clothing. Rainbow looks like she's literally ready for a fucking fight, & Fluttershy might as well being wearing a piece of the sidewalk, she looks like something you'd see in an animal habitat. in sort the rest of the girls pretty much took what were free gifts, made with all the love & heart Rarity has for her friends, and basically shove them to side and have Rarity make something one can buy at a local thrift shop, while not taking Rarity's own feelings into consideration & almost ruin her career.
20%! WTF is that suppose to mean RD! how does one 20% anything to a dress, use actual words you fucking self-absorbed, egotistical glory hog!!!!!!(Gets restrained and tranqed)
Being easily scared by loud noises and sudden things opooing out at you isn't the same as being meek. I have autism (Apergers) and when I an jumpscared, I will allways be sacred shitless. It's not something I can change by being more resolute or having better self-esteem. It's just something that can't be switched off. As to not be a pushover, I told all my friends to not jumpscare me as I react this way and anybody who doesn't respect that (after having told 'em of course) isn't my friend anymore. Being assertive doesn't mean not to be scared. It just means being able to stick up for what you want and need.
I just realized why the simple "Boo" managed to scare Fluttershy so badly! And it's all thanks to working in a kitchen where certain noises will scare me into a shriek while washing dishes. She was already on edge from the previous, far more terrifying "prank", and so her anxiety was going berserk, making her far more sensitive to fear, especially in a still dark and foggy wooded area. As I said, I just learned this thanks to personal experience. I get pretty stressed with keeping up with the dinner rush dishes, and the stress triggers my anxiety that I typically have under control, besides my speech patterns. So, when an unexpected noise comes up, such as a glass breaking or someone dropping a metal piece or, most ofter, the plastic wares above my head falling suddenly in front of me and decently loud, I end up pulling the exact same motion Fluttershy did, shrieking and jumping. I hate to admit it, but my coworker's have actually started a game to see if they can get me to let out a shriek before closing, lol.
You know this episode reminds me of the Sam Pepper prank. One where a guy kidnapped someone else and made them think their best friend was killed. Did people find that funny, NO. So tricking Dash that she poisoned the whole town, killing them if this wasn’t a kids show, is basically the same thing. Times the fact that the don’t confront her outright and instead Pinkie instead because they’re too lazy, and double challenging her at the start, I think Ponyville Confidential might have competition for worst episode
I'm disappointed you didn't talk more about the Sugar Coated Zombie Apocalypse. The title was a giveaway, but it was both surprising and kinda funny, despite its sugar spoopiness.
I really disliked this episode. The revenge prank was just mean spirited and predictable and lets not forget hypocritical. The episode was over before it had hit the half way mark.
The zombie part might have been interresting as well. What if they had moved up that cupcake plan to right after the "dare" and make it actually turn ponies into zombie like creatures. Then have Rainbow be forced to search for a solution for the remainer of the episode. This would prevent the episode from doing the same as mysterious mare do well and confront Rainbow with actual consequences.
@btamamura Um no. If someone actually got sick, you *really* think that Rainbow Dash, *the element of loyalty* , would let the CMC take the blame for something she did?
When i watched this episode it SOOOO makes it a scare tactics episode, to those that dont know or dont remember scare tactics was a jumpscare prank show hosted by famous comedian Tracy Morgan where people are brought to the show and get scared out of their wits from things that have to do with mutants, government secrets, cults, aliens, ghosts and so much more. the show started back in 2003-2013, it was really a great and funny series but sad that its no longer around, but seeing this episode made me bring back my scare tactic nostalgia! ^_^
Scout-aloo Well, seeing as how Tyandaga broke into Firebrand's compound is never addressed, I take it he actually set up an appointment with Firebrand.
I don't know, Dr. Wolf bribe his way into the office and he didn't get the howitzer, neither did that Raven Griffin, or his editor, or Amaruu (for obvious reasons). Thespio got an appointment and he got the Howitzer like the majority. I'm guessing he's just mixing it up for variety. Can't end it on the same joke every time
I don’t really like how they scared Dash out of her LIGHTS to give out the moral. There had to be a less insane prank they could do but this is what they chose... AMAZING 😒😒😒😒
I know I'm late to the discussion, but as I'm actually allergic to red food dye, Rainbow Dash could've literally poisoned someone. You don't screw with people's food, especially on mass.
2:19 This video gave me a way funnier idea for how this scene could play out: RD: "Boo." Fluttershy: "Really?" (completely deadpan, as if to say "You really thought that would work? Are you kidding me?") Then Rainbow looks super surprised and just says: "Oh."
I disagree Josh. This episode was one of the worst of the season. Her friends "prank" was disgustingly mean-spirited and over the line, but we're supposed to cheer for them being jerks because Rainbow is the bad guy here and deserves whatever is inflicted on her apparently.
Agreed. With this episode plus Mare-Do-Well, it seems like Rainbow attracts disproportionate retribution like unattended cake attracts Pinkie Pie. Gloat a little bit after, you know, SAVING LIVES? Your friends will basically form a conspiracy to knock you down a peg. A series of ultimately harmless pranks? The entire town will make you think you accidently killed everyone you care about.
Scaring Flutters, one of the most sensitive ponies, repeatedly is harmless? Hindering Rarity's work by replacing her sewing machine with cake is harmless? Replacing someone's toupee with an *ANGRY SKUNK* is harmless? Y'all have some very skewed definitions of what harmless means.
@@lightsidesoul Mare-Do-Well was actually good. Rainbow`s ego got so big that she literally was putting off saving someone`s life to bolster it. And what did her friends do to knock her ego down? They were being a good example of what Rainbow should have been doing as a hero. Which was a great way to do it. What you said about this episode on the other hand is right on the money.
Fluttershy was already tightly wound from the previous scare. As a high-strung person myself, I can attest to how easy it is to jump at the least little thing. And I'm not exactly a timid wallflower like Fluttershy. Personality wise, I'm more a mix of Twilight and Rainbow Dash. But I can't really watch horror movies with people because I'd scream at every jump scare. Also, I shouldn't sit under anything important.
It's kinda like how modern "pranks" are nowadays especially on UA-cam. They tend to be illegal and they also tend to not be genuine. What I mean is a lot of "pranks" are fake on UA-cam. This is probably why prank channels get a lot of shade.
For your next collab video, you could have one of the guards outside the base put their armor on a passing pony to try and take a break, but that pony brings the guard before you for punishment, then transition to the collab. One punishment I would recommend is holding cans ( you sit against the wall as if you were sitting in a chair, with a heavy can in each hoof, and must stay that way until you are told to stop). Trust me, it works.
My parents have been joking that I'm "Water Girl" since it's my job to make sure the dog bowls have water. So, I filled up my mom's water bottle with maple syrup. However, I was sure to do this on a day where she was in a good mood, and it totally paid off! The look on her face was priceless!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I get kinda pissed at the Mane... 5 and ponyville for going to ballistic at RD for the cookie prank. It was an exellent prank, completely harmless, no collateral damage, everyone involved knew they were pranked. Sure, there would be ponies who didn't enjoy it, but Pinkie indicated that they tasted delicious anyway, so no harm done. When RD realized something was wrong, she recognized that this was out of her league and tried to get someone who would be better suited to handle it. She should maybe have realized somehting was wrong when she saw Pinkie, but... It's pinkie, she could be lying down with the bubonic plague, and she'd still be eating sweets.
One... she kind of deserved it because she pranked Fluttershy even though she was told that she SHOULDN'T prank Fluttershy... Two, what if those prank cookies weren't harmless? What if it just so happened that those cookies were accidentally laced with Ebola? Or something Sweeney Todd, like pony meat? Then it gets into all sorts of messed up.
I feel like the town went overboard I mean rainbow dash did some bad stuff like the brick prank and the skunk but the town made rainbow think she has killed all of her friends that's just another level of awful

we can just kinda admit that AJ and Rarity are like 45% reasonable for this... hear me out, if they just calmly talked to RD and explained why its bad to prank everypony she might have let it sink in, but they straight up challenged her, by calling her pranks lazy and saying she doesnt put enough effort into them makes her want to do better, and lets admit it, the sewing machine cake was pretty great, and she was able to move AJ's bed out side while surrounded by pops and pans had to have taken a lot of effort to do that. now there are some pranks i dont not approve of, like what she did to Cranky and Mr.Cake, those were a little too far. all im saying is that more than one party was at fault.
over all i enjoyed this episode
And maybe they thought challenging her would reach Rainbow better given her competitive nature. Thing is, all she heard was 'lazy' and didn't listen to *why* they thought the pranks were lazy. Specifically, figuring out what each pony would find funny and which ponies wouldn't want to get pranked at all.
ZEADPOOL199 , Don't you mean "... the sewing machine cake was pretty... SWEET... "? I'll go stand in the corner now.

Rainbow: scares the town
Their response: basically have an entire town play dead and make Rainbow dash believe she accidentally killed ponies and, in the process, traumatize rainbow dash into thinking that this was her fault.

@@ShaDHP23 Goodnight folks.
i kinda felt that this was the worse version of mare do well.
You get
To eat good cookies and get a laugh that you can wipe off after.
@@lightsidesoul definitely
Did some people not see the episode? Rainbow's pranks involve: attacking a timid girls phobias and traumas, interfering with another ponys business, everything that happened with Applejack, a brick sandwich, replacing a toupe with a SKUNK & actively tampering with stuff that people/ponys *PAID* for!
Moral of the story: almost everyone in this episode did something morally wrong
@3:16 That's assuming and encouraging of negligence. That's an awful message to tell your kids.
GoldenFox thank you! I feel this entire episode was dangerous to show kids!
This or Mare Do-Well?
GoldenFox omg, you actually answered.
And both.
I mean, this episode could've given a message i have yet to see this show tackle: "treat others the way you want to be treated". With all the forms of bullying, thats a better message than "prank people, but only if they find it funny."
And the mare do well message..... i see what they were going for, but it can still be dangerous. But I find 28 Pranks Later to be the worse episode.
I don't think that's the whole message. Based on what the rest of the mane six said, pranking is delicate for some people, and getting to know them is just as important before you start a prank.
GoldenFox i can understand that. But the better message would've been "treat others the way you want to be treated."
The way they worded the message can be misconstrued by children.
All I needed to see was the title and I knew it would be great.
And then the mitochondria joke. Oh. My. Gosh.
So, actively attacking Fluttershy via her traumas is better?
@@WarmLusamine like Josh said that Fluttershy grown as a character and really shouldn't be so scared that easily. Especially when Rainbow just went "boo."
THANK YOU! That’s what I’ve been saying!!!
Oh look, someone didn't get ejected by party howitzer
@btamamura Yes, because Rainbow would not have come forward in that scenario 🤦♂️

Right...
This is Hasbro don't compare this to Nick
I'm just saying that there are some pranksters that take their antics too far...like sadistically
Something tells me I'm gonna see Luan in the paper one day for something bad.
Loud House is overrated and the fans are sick bastards who ship Lincoln with her own sisters.
2:23 she could still be scared from the prank I haven’t been scared of someone saying boo but if I was already scared then yes so she still be scared
Well, the biggest PRANK on RD came after the Show: The big Bill for all the Fake Letters to Celestia. xD

Was fun, though, watching my friend be surprised by sudden zombie ponies because they don't really watch horrormovies and thus the title of the episode meant nothing to them
Apparently Pinkie forgot about not pranking Fluttershy too, because she was the only one who found it funny when it happened.
@btamamura Not an excuse to throw a childish tantrum.
@btamamura Who says you have to pay attention to me? *You* made an argument, you dont get to complain when someone reply to your argument.

@btamamura You are part of a discussion. The other party answering you is not harrassment.
Hate the episode but love the review. Good job Firebrand and Tyandaga!
Narrator007 thank you! It feels like they wanted to put this in an earlier season, but couldn't figure out where to put it
"My guards they think I'm adorable" lol that's the best way to be introduced yet
Lazarus056
Fluttershy was scared to the point of tears. She was on edge. And probably wasn't expecting Dash to scare her more.
It IS how SOME minds work. (Me, for example). Just because she's grown, does not mean old traits and habits are gone completely. Like I said before, certain triggers can bring them back.
*The Whisperer of Death* A Simple Boo still shouldn't trigger it.
Lazarus056
But it can. There are people like that.
Just because it doesn't for you, doesn't mean others aren't like that.
*The Whisperer of Death* Sudden Claps set people off, not tiny 'Boos'.
You have to hire that deer now
Huh, who knew this episode of Taking Too Seriously be would teach me the exact same thing in Biology: The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.
@btamamura
1. Oh no! A temporary bad smell!
2. If he did not notice a *brick* in his sandwich, he outright deserved it. Furthermore, you realize how strong the teeth of a horse is?
3. Weighing down Mac`s cart only caused a one minute inconvenience
4. I am pretty sure these prank toys have been made with allergies in mind. And the same kind of argument could be said for the sneezing powder etc from earlier which was totally fine.
In the end of the day, Rainbow Dash was the victim in this episode. She was the only one exposed that a prank that took it too far.
@btamamura Again with the screaming 🙄
@btamamura Again, for what exactly? Seriously, grow up.
@btamamura Someone answering you in a discussion is not harassment. If my comments are "stressing you out" then just *ignore* them like the rest of us do.
@btamamura Grow up then, and stop acting like a victim just because someone disagrees.
4:44 because people have actually been fined or even died from pranking random strangers
I'm surprised Josh didn't reference his Bridle Gossip review, where he was excited over the idea of zombie ponies.
oh how i wish i can do a Review with Firebrand, i would love to tear into Suited for Success with him. i'm still waiting for a Review with Lightning Bliss & Keyframe.
well the big thing for me is this: its how the rest of the Mane 6 pretty much spits in Rarity's face when she went out of her way to make them all top of the line, one of a kind, original dresses meant for high society class events....and have her work her tail off in making costumes suited for a costume party at a friends house on Halloween!
Rainbow looks like she's literally ready for a fucking fight, & Fluttershy might as well being wearing a piece of the sidewalk, she looks like something you'd see in an animal habitat.
in sort the rest of the girls pretty much took what were free gifts, made with all the love & heart Rarity has for her friends, and basically shove them to side and have Rarity make something one can buy at a local thrift shop, while not taking Rarity's own feelings into consideration & almost ruin her career.
sorry if i went a little overboard. when it comes to stuff like that, i get....'antsy'.
20%! WTF is that suppose to mean RD! how does one 20% anything to a dress, use actual words you fucking self-absorbed, egotistical glory hog!!!!!!(Gets restrained and tranqed)

as someone who ships Flutterdash, the beginning physically hurts me
Being easily scared by loud noises and sudden things opooing out at you isn't the same as being meek.
This was awesome. You and Tyandaga should collab more.
No party howitzer? For shame! Ah well! I guess I better do it myself! **grabs a Fat Man and loads a Party Mini-Nuke** FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!
ALL HAIL TO TYANDAGA OUR BEAUTIFUL DEER OVERLORD
Tyandaga is sooooooooooo cute
You know this episode reminds me of the Sam Pepper prank. One where a guy kidnapped someone else and made them think their best friend was killed.
Did people find that funny, NO. So tricking Dash that she poisoned the whole town, killing them if this wasn’t a kids show, is basically the same thing.
Times the fact that the don’t confront her outright and instead Pinkie instead because they’re too lazy, and double challenging her at the start, I think Ponyville Confidential might have competition for worst episode
aw I was hoping for a Christmas themed review ya know because of the reindeer HA HA HA
I think this is the fisrt review Firebrand didn't put his collab partner into the party howitzer at the end.
Dennis Estoque He attempted to fire Dr Wolf out of the howitzer once, and he didn't shoot Ari out of it either
I'm disappointed you didn't talk more about the Sugar Coated Zombie Apocalypse.
The title was a giveaway, but it was both surprising and kinda funny, despite its sugar spoopiness.
I actually enjoyed this episode and you guys did a pretty good job on reviewing it
Thanks for uploading this! I needed it!
I really disliked this episode. The revenge prank was just mean spirited and predictable and lets not forget hypocritical. The episode was over before it had hit the half way mark.
@Laffi Taffi two wrongs do not make a right
@Laffi Taffi confront her with the consequences of her actions and make her fix any damage?
@Laffi Taffi they made her think she killed a lot of people, thats going overboard.
(And it was also too predictable from a viewer point of view)
The zombie part might have been interresting as well.
What if they had moved up that cupcake plan to right after the "dare" and make it actually turn ponies into zombie like creatures.
Then have Rainbow be forced to search for a solution for the remainer of the episode.
This would prevent the episode from doing the same as mysterious mare do well and confront Rainbow with actual consequences.
@btamamura Um no. If someone actually got sick, you *really* think that Rainbow Dash, *the element of loyalty* , would let the CMC take the blame for something she did?
That ending did escalate quickly
When i watched this episode it SOOOO makes it a scare tactics episode, to those that dont know or dont remember scare tactics was a jumpscare prank show hosted by famous comedian Tracy Morgan where people are brought to the show and get scared out of their wits from things that have to do with mutants, government secrets, cults, aliens, ghosts and so much more. the show started back in 2003-2013, it was really a great and funny series but sad that its no longer around, but seeing this episode made me bring back my scare tactic nostalgia! ^_^

I still wanna know why I originally thought this was a Season 1 episode
What happened to the Party Howitzer?
Scout-aloo Well, seeing as how Tyandaga broke into Firebrand's compound is never addressed, I take it he actually set up an appointment with Firebrand.
I don't know, Dr. Wolf bribe his way into the office and he didn't get the howitzer, neither did that Raven Griffin, or his editor, or Amaruu (for obvious reasons). Thespio got an appointment and he got the Howitzer like the majority. I'm guessing he's just mixing it up for variety. Can't end it on the same joke every time

Honestly, I’d say he deserved to get the Howitzer this time, what with all that propaganda he was spouting off in the end.

I seriously think this episode should've happrned way earlier. Cuz I hate how Rainbow basically regressed as a character.

That speech at the end reminded me so much of Kill La Kill
You'd think Rainbow Dash would know better than to prank Fluttershy.
2:19 This video gave me a way funnier idea for how this scene could play out:
RD: "Boo."
Fluttershy: "Really?" (completely deadpan, as if to say "You really thought that would work? Are you kidding me?")
Then Rainbow looks super surprised and just says: "Oh."

"They keep trying to scratch behind my ears,"

@@WarmLusamine Yeah, all of those were harmless. If a prank is harmful, the person is getting *HARMED* .
WHALES ARE MAMMALS!
I loved the episode, great job with the review!

It's kinda like how modern "pranks" are nowadays especially on UA-cam. They tend to be illegal and they also tend to not be genuine. What I mean is a lot of "pranks" are fake on UA-cam. This is probably why prank channels get a lot of shade.
I laughed harder than I should have at the rimshot nonsequiter.

I love how you used 28 days later music in the background
6:35-7:00 XD THAT WAS SO FUNNY! I KEPT WATCHING THAT PART OVER AND OVER
I get kinda pissed at the Mane...
"Kingdom hearts is light" you said it
11:49 Earth pony's are numbskulls, pegasi are brutes, Unicorns are snobs. Oh my god Tyandaga predicted gen 5!!!
This episode is such a mess, no one is in the right, Rainbow went to far but so did the town so I personally conclude! Everyone sucks here!
I feel like the town went overboard I mean rainbow dash did some bad stuff like the brick prank and the skunk but the town made rainbow think she has killed all of her friends that's just another level of awful
