Empty world without Freddie
Thanks for this music and his legacy
Hi Miss Linda. I'm 24 and my "Freddie" is an artist named xxxtentacion. When my grandmom saw me crying over the news of his death, she cried with me even though I don't think she likes xxxtentacion very much. She told me she had Freddie. She passed away a few months after xxxtentacion. I listen to queen and it's me in her embrace all over again.
Empty without Freddie, Xxxtentacion, and my grandma.
I miss him...
😓
And Eddie.
This generation created music not just words.
Roger Taylor's drumming and vocals are epic.
He has no problems hitting those high notes ah
@@heathcornbeef Yeah, he's got no problem belting them out while he's drumming like that kit stole his car! He's pretty amazing.
@@neuralmute well this STINKY OLD PUNKROCKER has to agree with you on this
I've never seen anything like it. One of the all time great rock drummers, and could easily be a lead vocalist.
You are so right Roger Taylor is one of the best drummers ever. To play the drums and vocalise at the same is a fantastic feat.
Freddie Rock Star ☑ Opera singer ☑ Composer ☑ Dancer ☑ Pianist ☑ Genius ☑ and so much more 😂🥰♥
I recommend LIVE AID with Queen, you will blown away!
I never recommended Live Aide until you have listened to more of their discography that way you appreciate it more
You're so right amazing band the best in live shows and why?huge talent and Freddie's vocals are insane with his movements on the stage unreplaceable unic in every way and the other members so talented in all brian may is the best guitarist in rock music and Roger is the best drummer player and back vocals too and the bass guitar j.deacen superb player and all at them great musicians welcome to the perfect band ever liked your reaction keep on
Remember all 4 members have had number 1 hits. The talent is off the hook. Without John’s amp he built for Brian the sound would be different, of course the fact Brian built the guitar makes it better than anything out there! Roger singing like a lead singer omg and playing drums. Freddie being the best Front man of all time! Those four men made magic happen every day!
Love Aid is considered the greatest live show of all time.
Queen is better LIVE, always!
THIS is what you call actual SINGING and amazing musical talent.
Roger on the drums is just a monster on this song! And he is the main backup singer too!.
His voice in most other bands, would be lead
Freddie's voice was an instrument itself. When asked what his favorite instrument was, he said it was the audience.
The GOAT....Freddie!!! Love this group ...so glad I grew up in the 70s with all thier songs...bohemian rhapsody a masterpiece 🙌
Queen didn't need filters to sound amazing. They had prodigious talent.
Something most artists now are lacking
@@bonnieparkertheoutlaw7353 Agreed
I was at that concert! yep! My 24th birthday! Still the best concert I've ever attended. Freddie owned the crowd and when he took a breath, the rest of them did some pretty good owning too!
You are SO LUCKY to have been at Wembley
It wasn't at Wembley. It was Montreal in Nov of '81@@proudtobeamerican7524
People should give more credit to Roger Taylor drummer unbelievable background vocals and drumming. Next you should do their performance in Live Aid 1985, also Queen & David Bowie, “Under Pressure” live.
yep, Roger's voice is sailing away up above Freddie's to create that harmonious type effect in a live setting. They compliment each other very well. & if there was a situation where Freddie could not quite hit the note, Roger just slide right in & took over. What a talented group.
Queen NEVER performed live with David. He only performed at the Tribute Concert in '92.
My absolute favorite performer in this song is Roger Taylor. No doubt. As great as Freddie is in this, Roger is just killin’ it.
@@lynne8346 absolutely agree x
@@ianwakers i think the person meant to react to the video that is edited to look like they were performing together.
I still miss Freddie.
You’re not alone. What a star ⭐️
Me too
Shout out to Roger Taylor on drums. What a performance.
There are so many things to love about this performance. Freddie, as usual, was incredible. John strutting around with the bass, nice and calm and keeping them together. The seamless way Freddie's vocals and Brian's guitar go from one to the next.... But for me, Roger's playing and vocals are what make this song. Just love it all.
Freddie Mercury was considered one of the best live performers of his generation, and Queens performances were legendary. Live Aid is cited by their contemporaries as the best short form live performance ever, with some crediting the performance as saving the charity event.
The main difference between live and recording.. with Queen.. is that on the recordings they multi-track A LOT.. and Freddie does a lot of the multiple voices.. vs live - we get to hear Roger’s incredible voice even more.. and them, as a band, being so in-sync with each other!! They’re amazing. NO BODY better live..
I think in most other band, Roger would be lead singer, he is that good.
This entire band is amazingly talented!! Freddie Mercury was unlike anyone else. He could go high, or low. He even sang opera!
Wow 🥰 beautiful Freddie ❤️❤️ Freddie Mercury ❤️
Roger KILLS THIS SONG!! ❤❤❤
This has no auto tuned .no computers ..pure talent!
Queen is legit one of the best live sounding bands you'll ever hear
Freddie had the best voice ever. There is nothing to compare him to.
One of the best male vocalists of all time.
One of? Cmon
@@dcg590
Yes, one of......
There are some other unbelievable vocalists.
The sad thing is, that the guys i'm thinking of are not longer with us anymore as well. And their style of singing is different.
Extroverted artists like Freddy can't be duplicated and they can't be compared with other great performers!
So it's difficuld to change from "the greatest" to "one of the greatest".
As a fan you/we are not objective....and everybody has the right to their own opinion.
The best!
Roger is not bad either.
Queen was an absolute miracle it took Freddie Mercury and the rest of them to sound that way. But the way they sounded together was an absolute miracle!
One of the coolest things to me about this performance is that this wasn't even a show closer--it's a song from the middle of their set and had this incredible energy.
That was the 4th song of a 2hr set.
Freddie always had honey and lemon water for his voice!
That makes total sense! He'd need the soothing effect while belting out those amazing notes!
Yes, Rob Halford of Judas Priest is known to drink it also.
yup though at first glance, can’t blame people for thinking it’s all cups of beer lol
Roger is a beast on the drums. Especially in this one.
This was before all the computerized nonsense they have today. You could either sing or you couldn’t. This group made some amazing music together.
DRAGON ATTACT live then QUEEN at LIVE AID...
OH YESSSS
I absolutely love this performance. Roger (drummer) really kicks it up with his constant vocals during this one, John (bass) is holding down the back end. I can never say enough good words about Brian's guitar skills, I love him still today when he is better than ever and Freddie proves why is is a true legend. Outstanding job by the entire band which is typical of Queen live. Thank you for your great reaction.
Freddie rightfully gets most of the praise when people talk about queen. And Brian May is pretty widely known as one of the best guitarists ever. But Roger Taylor and Brian May don't get nearly the recognition they deserve for their overall contributions. Between the two of them they wrote the vast majority of Queen's songs as well as many others they wrote for other bands. And they both make huge contributions with vocals on a lot of them.
@@Rowgue51 Also, John didn't write a lot but he did write some of Queens major hits and Queen's first number 1 in the US.
Roger KILLS this song
Great reaction!
Answering your question: On stages, Freddie always drank a lot of water, and a mix of lemon and honey for his voice. When backstage, he would take strepsis pills and would do some inalations as well. He had tons of problems with his throat, so, he had to take absolute care of it.
Even if Freddie used a lot of drugs and alchool, ironically, he was very careful, profissional, and never used anything before or during the shows. After an unforgetable first and only time, when he basically forgot his own name, what to say about the lyrics, they NEVER let him drink anything alchoolical on stages, ever again. Let's just say, he learned his lesson. After the shows, however, he was a free man.
Brian and Roger would sip on beer once or twice, but they never were drunk on the shows. And they both stopped drinking (and smoking, in Roger's case) just a few years after this.
John, however, was another completelly different matter: He's absolutelly too shy to enter a stage as anything but totally smashed, so, he had his own bar behind his amp. But unlike Freddie, it never stopped him from being the best in anything he did. He never had any problem playing his bass or dancing like there was no tomorrow, and never lost a beat, even when he couldn't even walk in a straight line.
For your next reactions, I strongly suggest Queen in Live Aid, 1985. If you liked them on live, you'll LOVE that. It was a 20 mins beneficent show. It had a mixed crowd, no one there had a fanbase, so, great artists were booed if not giving a good enough show, and everyone who was someone was there (Paul McCartney, David Bowie, The Who, Status Quo, just for you to imagine...). Queen basically leveled everyone (they even were attacked backstage because of it).
Then, the next reaction I'll reccomend for you is "I Want To Break Free". You will... laugh... A LOT. The song was writen by John Deacon (yeah, the super shy bassist... Everyone thought it was Freddie's creation, but nope) and the video is simply hilarious.
It was a god given moment when these 4 guys found each other. Freddie never took singing lessons, but he was a born performer, the whole band loved their audiences and Freddie was interacting with them all around the world, they still have a huge Queen fan base e.g. in Japan or South America. This is one of the greatest live performances ever. Pls, check out Fat Bottomed Girls at Milton Keynes 82.
Exactly!
I'm always physically vibrating when I watch this video and the vibration goes on long after it's over
Now im here at Wembley
You will be ready for live aide soon! ❤️❤️❤️
His drinks on the piano, though they look like beer, were juices and teas meant to keep his throat clear and keep him hydrated. The fact that they looked like beer was just a bonus!
I love how you stop when Freddie hits those first notes. Yes, that's when you realize that his voice is not the result of autotune or studio tinkering, it really was that good. It's said of his voice that he could reach the furthest seats in Wembley stadium because his voice was so powerful. As for the rest of the band and how it worked, well it was just magic. They really came together as one thing to make music even when live. It's like these very different personalities gelled for this magical time period to produce something wonderful and we were around to hear it.
Freddie never drank beer on stage. It's tea with honey for his throat.
best band ever!
I have to say it.... I miss the artists whose concerts served the music and not just the spectacle. Queen was one of the best.
Now ya know why we Highly recommended LIVE!!! ❤ I was at that '81 Concert!
This is by far - hands down - the best live band of all time. There were a lot of great bands from this era, but nobody else could deliver this kind of live performance and nobody else had Freddie. The band is great - period. Please listen to The March of the Black Queen from the Queen II album 1974. This is, in my opinion the best song they ever did, although they only ever played a small section of the song live, as part of a medley. You'll see the talent level at it's finest in this song.
I had to check to see if your comment was a comment of my own that I had forgotten!
Freddie's homage to Aretha Franklin and gospel music. He loved Aretha...he also wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love as an homage to his other idol Elvis Presley.
Freddie always kept tea with honey on the piano during long concerts to keep his throat from drying out. He liked beer but said he would never drink it during a performance and risk burping into the mic, it would be disrespectful to the audience.
This song is probably the greatest Rock Gospel song ever done, beautifully performed as only Queen could ever do
Let's GO
This is the third video of yours I've watched and I'm now convinced: we've found the missing Murphy brother. Amazing resemblance.
He’s sipping on honey and water for his vocal cords . One of Queens trademarks was the cups on the piano. What you will notice when Freddie takes a sip it is always the cup you cannot see through. Honey and water ❤️🩹
Freddie Mercury has one, if not the greatest voice in Rock n roll. Check out live aid performance and see the showman at his best.
Can you imagine being there??!! Hearing it LIVE??!! Live Queen is the best. Check out more!
Freddie really admired Aretha Franklin. In one interview he said her singing seemed effortless,so he came up with Somebody to Love (one of his personal favorites) with that gospel sound.
Freddie loved opera and there’s a performance with him and a famous opera lady singing opera together and they had become great friends.
Welcome to the world of Queen live. This entire concert was fire! Climb down the rabbit hole and join us in enjoying the brilliance of one of the best bands of all time! You won't regret a minute of it. Keep the reactions coming. Great job.
1986 live at Wembley, Under Pressure. Live Aid 1985, Cool Cat, A Winters Tale (one of his very last recordings) The list goes on. Fab reaction.
Best live band ever, IMO! Thanks for the reaction! I hope you'll do more live Queen!
I seen them live in 1979 at Madison square garden. I have seen many concerts before and after, that concert was so outrageous and the crowd was so into the music I was afraid the garden was going to collapse it was incredible!
Freddie truly was one of a kind! That voice!
Hi, I love your reaction. The new generation must know more about queen to appreciate good music. I recommend Love of my life, both in Montreal 91 and Wembley 1986. Also Under Pressure in wembley 86, on June 12. It will leave you with your mouth open. Enjoy it.
The mic pass guy to Freddie deserves a medal of some kind! 😂🎤😂❤️💯
This performance never gets old! Like 3 encores in one song!🔥🔥🔥
Loved your joy watching this!!
They say he drank lemon water btw😉
Always amazes me how he always stops dead on time. Brilliant performance.
A fan for 4 decades and still haven't found another rock band as good as Queen. (I am BIAS).
Watch a Queen concert and you'll see they are Legendary performers - serving their fans what they paid to see...great music and entertainment without a break. Yep, they stay hydrated but not to stay 'high'. Men at Work. The best. Edit...7/1/22..yep I'm back....wait'll you see/hear Freddie @6 yrs after this sing with Opera Diva Montserrat Caballe'. a solo project of his (not Queen). . .The album is "Barcelona"...great Album but that song, "Barcelona" plus "Golden Boy" plus "How Can I go On". Listen to them. . .whether you react or not. Whether you like/dislike Opera or not.
I'm here for Queen also!! Freddie was taken from us far too soon. 💙
Maybe, but at least we were spared seeing him do a SuperBowl halftime show with Lady Gaga or Billie Eilish.
I suggest you watch the song "Save Me" from this same show. It was a new song off the Game album.
I saw them during this tour at Madison Square Garden in September 1980.
Live Aid concert is THE GREATEST!! That one video to the right on your screen across from Freddy is RamJam.. “Black Betty”!! A BIG MUST!!! 😁🎶❤️
The look on your face was priceless throughout this entire reaction.🙂It is pretty amazing to see Queen perform live. Unbelievable talent from everyone in this band.
Definitely react to Live Aid 1985. Queen’s performance is considered probably the greatest live performance of all time
I've read Freddie was sick and was adviced by his doctor not to sing. If one takes that in consideration it is mindblowing
Roger is a tremendously talented drummer and takes his craft very seriously. He's the only rock drummer I've ever heard of that takes the trouble to tune his drums before each concert to make sure he's getting exactly the sound he wants out of each of them.
I'd rather hear Queen live than listen to the studio version. The only thing they couldn't do live was the operatic part of Bohemian Rhapsody. If you look at Paul McCartney and Wings you can see that their live shows were how do we make it sound as much like the album as possible. They did a very good job of that. Queen's strategy was how can we make it better than the studio version. They do an amazing job of that.
We all tend to fall in love with a version of a song that we hear first. I love the studio version the best. However this is such a great performance that I see why people like this over the studio version :)
From what I've heard, Freddy always had water, tea and beer at hand when performing. Useful depending on what the throat needs at the moment.
Also, Even though there were four giants up there, I have to give some love to the fifth most important person on stage for that song; the stagehand that gave Freddy his mic when he needed it and took it back when he was done. Perfectly timed!
I admire studio recordings (tinker, create your best at the moment - your historical record launching that song). But once you start playing it live, it takes on new life. Queen thrived playing live. It wasn't 4 guys up there lost in their own world of music...it was 4 bandmates working to deliver and entertain....they wanted their music to make people happy. Simply a kind of magic. (Yes, there's a song & album named that too.)
It's stunning that 4 guys can make this much sound!
Introduce all you youngins to this group. They don’t know what their missing
Love bohemian rhaposody makes me go cold all over. We lost Freddie far too young. Such an iconic band
Great reaction
LEGENDS!!!!!!!
Great reaction! I've seen this many times but I still get goosebumps watching someone else enjoy it for the first time.
As for the cups, I heard in a documentary that it wasn't beer, it was tea with honey in it for his voice.
If you haven’t already, you MUST check out Queen’s live performance at the 1985 Live Aid benefit. It was an all day concert held in London and Philadelphia simultaneously. More than 60-70 acts performed. To this day, Queens performance is considered by many to be the best live set ever performed. It’ll blow you away.
I was in the crowd in philly
@@mikemclaughlin3306 That’s so cool!
@@eddie11214 it was weird, the. The lineup was schizophrenic.
@@mikemclaughlin3306 Yes. It was a very “diverse” lineup. But what an amazing event.
Yes!!!
STUPENDOUS!!!! performance. great reaction!!
These guys didn't need any auto tune, these are proper quality singers
What an entertainer Freddie was!! Incredible singer/pianist/guitarist/songwriter too!! I particularly loved the drummer Roger Taylor - magnificent!! Ofcourse Brian May, lead guitarist, & John Deacon bass guitarist were incredible too!! What a band!! Love you QUEEN!!! 💝💝💝💝
Going to be a Good 1
It's hard to fathom just how angry all 4 members were during this concert the songs just sounded so much better lol
When talented people actually played instruments and sang at the same time!
Best live band ever.
I had the pleasure of seeing their very last concert ever, at Knebworth Park in 1986.
They were amazing as always.
There's a new Queen video just released 6/29/22 - "Love of My Life" - Live in Budapest '86.
Its a beautiful version of that song and Freddie sounds fantastic!!👏 🔥❤
When his voice can match the register of the drums... So powerful.
Or the parts where the backup vocals are harmonizing not only with Freddie but also the guitar. It's the same note, and they all hold it.
That's how music was done back in our day we didn't have auto-tune you actually had to sing auto-tune is something that you guys are used to we didn't have that music from the '60s '70s and '80s you had to have talent. You had to be able to play instruments and sing and play instruments most people played more than one instrument nowadays people can't even play instruments it's all digitalized it's not the same and when you hear us older folks telling you that our music that we listen to was the greatest music there ever was now you understand why.
Pure talent on that stage.
Still to this day gives me chills hearing this man sing. The good ole days. Queen was on another level. FAT BOTTOM GIRLS will always be my favorite if u haven't reacted to it I hope u consider to do so
Your next reaction should be to their performance during "Live Aid" concert in July 1985. This was the best 30 minutes ever.
The drink he had was a honey and lemon concoction. Freddie protected his vouce at all costs. This is the blueprint for todays so called musicians. You have a lot to learn. Miss you Freddie and Queen. 🧡🧡🧡
I love Freddie, but he did not protect his voice at all costs. He smoked all his life and did cocaine on occasion. Both of these are bad for the throat. The night before they were on SNL, he got into a loud argument with his boyfriend and had to perform on live TV with laryngitis. Sorry, but your message sounded a little condescending to me.
Listen to Queen WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
Just true talent, instrumental, vocal and showmanship!
I saw Queen at LiveAid and Ive seen dozens of bands live, nothing has ever come close to seeing them live
Queen had some friction with the company that was recording this concert to distribute as an album. Before the concert started they had instructed the audience NOT to clap their hands or stamp their feet or sing along during the songs. One Freddie found out about that he made sure to encourage them to make as much noise as possible!
The entire band was and is incredible even their work today.
Roger Taylor’s entrance- that’s how you come in on a live stage…..these guys are genius level,no question.
Rock n Roll, welcome to the party! 😎❤️🎼🎶🎶❤️
